The food is pretty good but what really put this meal over the top were the desserts. They were honestly the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life thus far. I had profiteroles and chocolate lava cake. TODIEFOR. Literally.

Our last dinner in Paris was at La Table d’Anvers, straight out of our Lonely Planet guidebook(by then, we were positively exhausted of searching for great places). It was actually a pretty nice place near our awesome culinary experience, Cook’n with Class( ). Menus were typically priced with prix fixe from 18 – 24 euro. Two things stand out in particular: (1) We came at around 5:30 and were absolutely the first table seated. This was simply because we had just come off the 3 hour cooking class and just wanted to sit, eat and go home to relax. Despite the odd look from the waitress/hostess, she happily complied. As the afternoon/evening went on, she got a few more patrons. All of whom were American, and no doubt were both as hungry as we were and had a handy guide book nifty. (2) This was the first time my friend and I delved into the delicacy they call escargot. It was covered with a garlic butter pesto-ish sauce and were actually quite delicious. I’m sure the sauce helped. The menu is online and in English, so I can actually recall what we ordered. The girlfriend got the risotto with prawns, I opted for the steak with pepper sauce, and our friend picked the lamb with star anise. Thanks, Google search! All were quite delicious and priced decently at 14 – 16 euro. We were stuffed and satisfied. All in all, a solid last meal.

This restaurant is family run by a father and his sons. The menu is a cross between italian and french. The gnocci and langoustines are really good as is the polenta and sea bass. The pastries are some of the best that i have ever had in Paris. Situated near the butte monmartre. Lovely on a summers evening.
