I will always love this hotel, because it saved me! My sister and were visiting Paris for a couple of days three years ago, in the spring of 2011. We were supposed to stay with an acquaintance, but when we arrived at his doorstep in the 7th arrondissement, he answered neither the door nor his phone. We set off in the middle of the night in a strange city with our bags on our backs, looking for a hotel room. Most of the hotels in the area were full. Eventually we found one, but could only book it for one night, so the next morning we had to do the same thing. Happily, we found La Tulipe. The gentlemen who worked there welcomed us and treated us very sweetly. They both spoke perfect English(and were gentle with our rusty French). The room was costly for us, but still much less than anything else we had found. The hotel smelled like gardenias, and was located near some wonderful restaurants and within walking distance to many other things. They had books to borrow, including Parisian guidebooks in English, which really helped us get the most out of our short visit. The beds were comfortable and the rooms very private and quiet. And they had a lovely little patio and a communal computer that we could use to email our parents to assure them that we were not dead. Also, they held our bags for us after we checked out so we could wander around unencumbered! Really wonderful people, really lovely little hotel.

You cannot compare a «hotel» in Paris to one in the US. However, this particular little hotel was perfectly located and was extremely charming and quaint. The indoor courtyard was a relaxing place to hang out at night with a nice bottle of French wine. The breakfast option in the morning is good as well. The rooms are small, as to be expected, but clean. The wireless internet was very spotted but was free. The hotel managers were exceptional friendly and helpful and spoke English.

This lovely hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff was the cherry on top of a great weekend in Paris. From check-in to our extended check-out, we were treated with great care and made to feel welcome. The location is incredibly convenient to the Eiffel Tower, Hotel des Invalides, Grand Palais, river boat cruises and more. There are also many great restaurants, bakeries, fresh markets and shops all within 5 minutes walk. Rue Cler, with lots of great places to eat is a 3 minute walk. And for those preferring the familiar, there’s a Starbucks around the corner — 1 min away. The rooms were charming. We booked two rooms and found we had our own small corridor and could leave our doors open like a suite when we were there. The showers/baths were hot and had great water pressure. The beds were comfy and I slept well. Despite being on a fairly busy street, at night and on weekends, the noise level is not a problem for the street-side rooms. Breakfast is available with a selection of pastries, fruits, yogurt and cereal with choice of hot chocolate or coffee. I would stay here again and I definitely would suggest it to others looking for a moderately priced hotel full of rustic charm, efficient staff, and with a location central to many Paris attractions.

One of those gems that are treasured, and a joy to share with friends, this hotel is central for everything worth doing and seeing in Paris. you can comfortably walk to the Eiffel Tower, or along the Seine to Notre Dame and the Louvre or get the Metro from Latour-Maubourg or the RER from Pont de l’Alma. This small hotel, based on an ancient convent with an idyllic central courtyard and some charming rooms off the courtyard offers a very friendly base for your enjoyment of this gorgeous city. and excellant breakfast to start your day with a truly french kick and some fabulous bistros in the environs for you to enjoy good french cuisine at non-tourist prices. This may ony have 2 stars, but we sre sure you will agree this is just down to hotel beureucrats checking forms and bares no comparison to the personal attention to detail and comfort of a stay in this hotel.
