Ate here on April 8th and it was excellent! Went back tonight, the 16th and was sorely disappointed. Service was slow… we waited an hour once seated to get our food. Two of their main entrées were unavailable at 7:45 p.m. The chicken skewers that were served so beautifully last week, hanging, we’re now just on the plate. Still good and juicy. The waiter and perhaps manager who was there on my first visit was not there tonight; he made the experience much more enjoyable than the 2 waitresses working tonight. I won’t go back:((

The food was amazing!!! I found out about the rest through a Rick Steves Paris book. And so glad we came. The pre fix menu is a steal! The duck and salmon Tartare to die for. My husband ordered frog legs(first time, I mean we NYers) tasted like chicken very good. He also had the chicken mushroom so good. Loved this whole in the wall chic place. A lot of tourists but locals as well. Sad part you need to rsvp we didn’t but came super early. After 7pm they sent out about 50 people that wanted to eat while they wait for their reservations to come. Still have not come yet… Sad money gone I hope this place will last!

My husband and I stumbled upon this wonderful little restaurant on Isle St Louis. We had 2 beautifully cooked fish dishes with a refreshing gazpacho to start. Both so good but not overwhelming that we decided to share a dessert — fresh strawberries glazed with a light caramel sauce in a crispy cornucopia wafer. Yum! The house Sauvignon was a good accompaniment to all. We paid much less for this meal but enjoyed it more than other more highly rated restaurants. Service was relaxed and comfortable. Will go back if we have the opportunity!

Great place. Food was wonderful, service good and nice ambience. On a charming street. It was full of tourists but still seemed like a real French restaurant.

Really special experience dining here. The waitress helped us by speaking some English and was very friendly. I highly recommend their 3 course meal. It was expensive, but the best food we ate in Paris. The crème brûlée was phenomenal.

I liked this place quite a bit. A small and cozy spot on Ille St Louis which had many of those standard French dishes. It is a little touristy but feels authentic enough with friendly service. I had the salmon over rice which I thought was done very well. Reasonably priced as well.

On a préféré finir notre repas à Berthillon.

This is my third time to eat here over 4 years time. I like the location, the ambiance and the food. the Escargot are traditional, garlic and butter and their bread is terrific. The chicken salad was full of chicken, peas, green beans and lettuce, more than enough fuel for the rest of the day. The wine is solid, good choices, good prices. The waitress spoke pretty good english. Everything I have ever ordered there were good. The Americans next to me were ordering steak well done, I think the chef is still trembling. Go, order something wonderful that you don’t get at home.

Really quant little place. Great service, reasonable price, really good food. Our group of six had a little bit of everything, and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Sounded like a lot of «local» people inside this restaurant, which is usually a good sign. We will definitely be back!

Cozy French restaurant on the little island in Paris – the area is pricey for dinner but this place is affordable. Great 3 course prix fixe menu for about 22.50 euros(the honey duck and crème brulee were DELICIOUS). Call ahead though to see if they’re open – tried to go on a Wednesday night and it was closed.

Fair prices Traditional fare with fine service Enjoyable atmosphere and dishes I loved that I felt I was on a side street in Paris(and I was). I loved that I had walked far through the city and stumbled upon it(I had). I dug that the place looked minuscule(it was). I was stoked to bring my special lady friend to a place like this(and so was she). Our meals were delicious. Our drinks were romantic. Our improvised line of questioning on how best to return to the Metro, using virtually zero translation, was a fun experience with more hand gestures and sound effects than much else. You’ve had better experiences in dining in your respective locales. But friend, you’re dining well in Paris here. You’re likely coming home with a story. Respect, appreciate, and enjoy. This is a 4⁄5 experience… walk yourself here and indulge among your other indulgences, and be glad. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our meal here. Staff was friendly and helpful. Yes, mostly tourists, but there were some French speakers dining, too.(Maybe locals wait til October when crowds have cleared a bit.) Food was very good, especially for the price. We had had several bad meals during the week in Paris, so were happy to have a positive dining experience here. I’d go back.

We went for lunch in May of 2012. We tried to go several times but were turned away twice having come once too early and the next time too late. Check their hours before you go, because if they aren’t serving yet, or are done, you might find the little gate normally protecting the basement stairs swung open to prevent your entrance. It can seem unfriendly, but this is a small establishment, minimally manned. Luckily, the place looked cute and we were determined, so eventually we came at a time when the front door opened all the way and we were seated. Don’t know if it was full of tourists or not. It may come as a shock, but Paris is full of tourists, especially the Isle Saint Louis. We ourselves were tourists, but we didn’t care who else was since the food was delicious. We had the special three course menu of the day. Service was adequate, not over friendly, but not rude. We had a very nice, relaxed, tasty lunch.

We stayed in Paris in early March this year, 2012. Sadly it was a little damp and cold when we crossed the river to Ille St Louis. We walked a little and stumbled on this wonderful place. We were lucky to get the last table as it was packed, although it doesn’t hold too many people. The décor is very rustic french. The service was second to none and the staff were all extremely helpful, explaining each dish. The food was to die for! The most exquisite coq au vin and the best beouf bourguinon,(the last helping) i have ever tasted. This place in my book deserves all 5 stars. 2 mains, 1 shared dessert and 2 caraffes of wine came to under 50 euros!!! We will be back in Paris in June, and its top of our list. Excellent all round.

After a few days of brasserie meals, a couple of heavy, saucy, French meals, and a little food poisoning, we were ready for a simple, light meal. L’Auberge de la Reine Blanche was just what the doctor ordered. The restaurant is located on Ile St. Louis, an absolutely charming neighborhood close to Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. The service was quite friendly and prompt. The French Onion soup had great flavor without being too salty. The foie gras was fantastic, served with a palette of mixing flavors, including a berry compote, sea salt, and pesto. All of the flavors worked together, and they complemented the paired wine. The entrees were not quite what I expected, but in a good way. The goal seems to be simple comfort food, and nothing fancier than that. The beef bourguignon was basically a thin beef stew with a little burgundy. Same for coq au vin — the basic ingredients, well prepared, and nothing more. The best part was that the whole meal, with wine, came out at less than 7 euros! In sum, I would recommend this restaurant as a great value in a great location, especially if you’re looking to cut back on the butter, cream, and pomme frittes for a meal.

We stayed at an apartment across the street and the food was not bad, nor was the service. Having said that, we did go early and yes it was packed with tourists as is every other place on Ile St Louis. Has the beef burgundy, and it was quite respectable and the onion soup was delicious. It was certainly not the best meal I’ve had in Paris, but it sure wasn’t the worst. Don’t even think about it without reservations as the hostess is quite abrupt in turning away those without.

It really is a crime when you get a bad meal in Paris! I think maybe getting a recommendation by an English-language guide was death for this place. Half way through the sad, sad meal, I realized that everyone who I could hear in the restaurant was speaking English! Not a single local Parisian in the restaurant. I have to think that they have become complacent about serving a never ending stream of customers who will never return. Sad, really, if this place used to be good.

Rip-off If you are expecting to enter a memorable restaurant with a typical ambiance, don’t go here. It’s a tiny restaurant filled with tourists, moreover the service is very french… in the worst sense! Very dissapointing evening…
