Absolutely not worth a visit. Service — server and owner extremely cold. Our server came to our table once. Never returned. We had to ask for water when the bill came. Food– antipasto was disappointing. Penne with marinara was bland, without sauce and oily. Spaghetti with bolognese seemed to be some sort of canned meat set upon uncooked noodles. Lasagna was ok but burnt. Bread for table was dry and uneatable. Atmosphere– old and tired. The total was was 75 €. Which would of been great for this type of meal but the food and service was appalling. We have been to many award winning restaurants around the world from James beard foundation dinners to Michelin star rated establishments. Never had this kind of experience for such a highly rated place.

A wonderful Italian restaurant with impeccable food and long history. Our waiter, Jean Luke, had been working there for 25 years, and the tables are filled with mostly locals. Call ahead for a reservation. The food was amazing, not too large portions, either. I had the meat tortellini with pesto, and I tried the dishes from others at my table. I think my personal favorite was the veal with prosciutto. The dessert was great too, tried a few different things. The crêpe Suzette was amazing, as well as the dessert with Grand Marnier.

Wonderful Italian restaurant, and most important: absolutely delicious. I took lasagna and my mom took gnocchi with pesto. Quality ingredients, the best lasagna I have eaten, and I’ve eaten godly lasagna before. A little bit pricey, but really worth it. Service is very good.

My husband and I found this restaurant while walking around the 1st. It is August, so we were thrilled to find a tasty restaurant open! At 7:30pm, the sidewalk seats were empty, but by 9pm it was packed. Such a wonderful and authentic Italian meal. The wine and pasta were delicious. Would highly recommend. In true French fashion, don’t expect a quick meal as for three courses ours was easily over two hours!

We stumbled upon the Italian restaurant after leaving the Louvre. I was getting tired of the menu’s in the café’s and brasseries and wanted something different. I was perplexed to the lack of reviews on Unilocal, but we tried it anyway and I’m glad we did. While some reviews complained of bad service, I found the service friendly and knowledgeable albeit a bit slow. However, I have rarely found a Paris restaurant to have impeccible service. I had Spaghetti Carbonara which was excellent and my husband had Veal Limone which he also said was excellent. They were the perfect size potions and with a lot of flavor. The staff is not very strong in english and there was a bit of a struggle to ask ingredients, but we both stumbled through enough to communicate our order and for us to decide what we wanted. I was even able to ask him for a plate of green olives from the antipasta station but I didn’t want to order the antipasta and he understood and brought me what I requested. The restaurant is quite small and reservations would help, but we didn’t have them either time we were there. The first time they truly did their best to accomodate us even though they were full – the couple that arrived after us wasn’t as lucky. We finished our meal with a desert called Soufflé Crème Glacee w/Grand Marnier for 10 €. There wasn’t anything soufflee about it other than the dish it was served in – it was vanilla ice cream with a crispy top not unlike crème brûlée and about 8 – 10 ounces of Grand Marnier on the side!!! I could have gotten drunk on the desert. We were both shocked at the amount of liquor that was served with this dish. At first we thought it was watered down with a sugar and water base, but after trying it, I can assure you it was full strength. It was o.k. — the tiarmisu we had the other visit was much better. However, if you want an after dinner drink of Grand Marnier you may be better of ordering the desert!

J’y retournerai.
