I came here with my boyfriend on his birthday. We had a great time and it was one of the tastiest meals we ate in Paris. The atmosphere is lively and the place filled up, but luckily we didn’t have to wait for a table. Our server was very nice and actually advised us to order in stages when we asked for the charcuterie as an app, because it might be too much if we got that plus main dishes. We were grateful for the ‘warning’, because the charcuterie plate was huge(but delicious) and we only had room for desert after. We shared a crème brule even though we were stuffed… it was too good to resist. Highly recommend this place, either for drinks or a meal, but preferably both!

We came here in the late morning for brunch. Beautiful location(coming from someone who’s completely enamored with Montmartre). The service was friendly, responsive, and English-friendly. We ordered the quiche lorraine and the croque madame. The quiche was tasty, and the croque madame was satisying(not exceptional). Would definitely stop by again!

A fun, casual bistro in Paris’ Montmartre. This is a good place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. We had a great time. Our waiter was a character — almost swinging off tables whilst juggling trays of food and empty plates as he made his way through the jungle of tables. My husband had one of the specials — the lamb. A lamb shank arrived in a separate crockpot. It had been slooooowwww cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Served with a plate of vegetables and mash potatoes my husband was mopping up any leftovers with the fresh French baguette. I went for the fish of the day which was a white fish served on a plate of vegetables and sweet potato mash. If you’re looking for somewhere fancy — don’t choose this Bistro. If you’re looking for somewhere casual and fun with the unique flavour of Montmartre(well that’s how we felt) come here!

Came here with my sister last weekend as they were opening up for lunchtime around noon. The waiter was opening the shutters to where the glass opened up to the open air of the streets. We could have sat right away, but we wanted to sit up there. We didn’t mind waiting as the waiter was very pleasant and polite. We had escargot and mussels & mashed potatoes & frite/fries. We finished everything, and by the end of the meal, we felt full and happy, and the friendliness and warmth of the place. Then we went on to Sacre Coeur, the most beautiful place on Earth, as far as my eyes have seen. We tried going back there again but they were closed earlier on Mondays, and my flight was Tuesday morning, oh well. I will definitely come here again on my next visit to Paris. perhaps in a year or two. Montmatre is definitely my favorite spot in Paris, partly because of my experience at this restaurant.

Good drinks. Atsmosphere is pretty calm. The music if great! They played some awesom390’s R&B and the entire staff would sing along. The staff was pretty friendly considering that we were obviously clueless tourists. I’d take a date here.

Adorable and delicious, but namely fantastic waitstaff. We were so glad that we continued walking beyond the busier(and louder) brasseries further up the road to find this treasure. From the first moment, the waitress was welcoming and friendly, and it was clear with each customer that she made it a favorite hangout for locals. While the indoor space was small and«creatively positioned», it really only added to the charm in spending a few hours enjoying our delicious meal. The escargot were flavorful and served with fresh bread. But the star of the show was the steak special(which may have been a daily), which had a wonderfully robust and aged flavor. We had it paired with a pleasant red Côtes du Rhôné. The pâté and goat cheese salad was exquisite and a generous portion. Overall, due to both the atmosphere and food, the most enjoyable dinner experience we had on this trip to Paris!

Ate here on our final night in Paris and was blown away by how great the food was. We ate from the set menu which was a steal at 21euros for three course. Much better value than all of the places around it… and much nicer than all we had previously tried. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and speak perfect English but will humour you trying to fit in and order in French. Can’t recommend this place enough, just wish we had found it on the first night so we could have gone back!

A nice place to stop while you are wandering around Montmarte and need some food and drinks. The server was very friendly and the food was tasty. Good escargot, great salads, and tasty beer! They also have a happy hour, which helped us decide on stopping here.

Was my café for several years when I lived in Paris. I loved it. They took such good care of me and it was so nice to have a place. Montmartre is my favorite place in Paris and this café is fantastic for sipping café crème and watching the world go by. The tall owner is Pierre. Not only is he gorgeous(for your Americans, he and his wife speak perfect English), but he is one of the nicest people I met while there. Now I’m all nostalgic, missing my café and my friends! Go, get a monaco and some frites, or a café and a croissant and enjoy the morning or afternoon. Tons of folks on the weekend with live music. Totally different vibe but nice all the same. If you see Pierre, tell him Robin« Unilocaled» the café and tell him hi from me!

Lovey and I were on holiday in Paris last year, and while on a budget, we decided to splurge for at least one night of our stay on a nice dinner. For that dinner, we randomly selected Au Carillon. Au Carillon had a nice semi-casual feel to it, which in Paris means it might feel somewhat formal to the average San Franciscan used to walking into a nice restaurant wearing a North Face fleece and shoes suitable for jogging. As tourists, we were dressed pragmatically in our usual garb of jeans and a jacket, it being winter and fairly cold outside. It didn’t really matter. This is a bar and restaurant where you can comfortably sit and have a drink, smoke a cigarette, sip a coffee, or sit down and treat yourself to a full and delicious meal, as we did. And they’re used to tourists here — it’s at the foot of Montmartre, and near the Moulin Rouge. We started with an awesome salad, which we split between the two of us. I ordered a steak with fries, which had a delicious sauce and came with a small green salad. Everything was tasty, hearty, and made with care. The beer selection was good too. Our hostess/waitress served us with a good sense of humor and a welcoming mischievousness. When we entered the restaurant, I didn’t realize that dinner came with an opportunity to mingle with the locals. When we met Yasmine, however, I became pleasantly aware of the social nature of the establishment. Yasmine is a friendly transgender from Algeria, and a regular at the bar, who was a pleasure to meet and chat with. We discussed everything from American politics to being transgendered in North Africa, to being a transgendered North African in France. Of course this was all at somewhat of a primitive level in French, no one’s native language who participated in the chat, but it was fun and memorable. And I realize that Yasmine was more or less doing her life’s work by being out at this place that night(rather close to Pigalle, after all), but it was probably the most memorable moment of our trip. That’s probably why I’ve spent so much time on this review. Be sure to take a look at all the profound snippets of song lyrics written on the walls, quoting everyone from Lennon to Kelis, and don’t miss out on the gender-bending art in the bathrooms. This is a unique place with great food, but maybe not ideal for the conservative quiet type.

A découvrir !
