It was our first day in Paris and we were walking towards the Arc de Triomphe and wanted to drop in somewhere for a nice first French meal. Our pick was as good as any since there were placed on every corner, so we dropped in on this place. We were greeted and sat down right away. There were a few business men seated for lunch. Our waiter spoke a bit of English and provided us with English menus. I ordered a Kir and the escargots. Both were ok. I’ve definitely had better. We also had the French onion soup and the sardines — all were about average and didn’t stand out to us, though the escargots were pretty large in size. I’ve had plenty more flavorful. I didn’t think the service was horrible but it wasn’t great like some other places. Overall, I wasn’t impressed and wouldn’t come back here with some many other selections around.

Ordered the Bordeaux wine, escargot, and duck confit. My boyfriend ordered the steak au pave and the cotes du rhone wine. The Bordeaux wine was superior to the cotes du rhone. The escargot was amazing and tastes exactly like mussels. The duck confit and the steak au pave came with potatoes au gratin. All three(duck, steak, and potatoes) were really good!

Came across this place after walking around looking for a place to have lunch. Wish I would have gone elsewhere. The main problem was the service provided by the waiter, the guy had a pretty bad attitude towards everybody, was cursing and complaining way too often(not sure why, the place was basically empty). The food was just Ok. We had the fish fillet(small portion but good flavor), the Onion soup(was lukewarm) and the pâté sandwhich. The bread they gave for the table appeared dry and old. Would probably avoid this place the next time I’m around the area.

My cellphone was stolen right out of my coat at this restaurant. I would strongly advise to stay away from this place. Gives Paris a bad name. On top of it, our food took more than an hour to arrive. The waitress constantly neglected our table and disregarded our requests. The food, horrible.

A block away from our hotel and we went almost every morning. The cute waiter(aka my French boyfriend) turned me on to Baguettes w/Fromage Cantal. My other half had eggs with fromage and we always started our breakfast with cappuccino’s. Outdoor setting allowed my other half to smoke his lungs away with his cappuccino. Great little place for breakfast and lunch.

Just off the Champs, Le Ponthieu seems like a reasonable place to lunch. I had the Rosete du Cantal(sliced pork sausage plate). It was kind of a big meh. I’ve had grocery deli meats as tasty. The washrooms were a pretty tight fit, as well.
