Le Relais de Venise lEntrecôte

Local friends took me here on my first trip to Paris. The secret sauce is worth the line as this place does not take reservations. I’m not much of a steak person (from NY where steak is proliferate) but I could not get enough of it here. The thinly pre-​cut pieces is the perfect texture and bite for my loving. The dessert was my favorite, and I continue to rave about the meringue ice cream. It’s become a favorite dessert of mine with an unforgettable taste. I recently learned that they have a location in NY too, I’m hoping that my visit at the NY store will be equally memorable.

Excellent steak and sauce in a very quaint and crowded restaurant. Excellent service. House wine is great choice. Save room for dessert.

We were wandering one night in Paris and couldn’t find a place that was open and still serving food so late at night. This place was still crowded with a ton of locals and were about to close but the waitress seated us and was oh so friendly! We didn’t know what to expect but there was a guy smoking out front who told us it was the best steak and they had an amazing sauce and there is always a line out the door during the daytime! Sold! We sat down and there is no menu! They only serve steak and frites and your selection of drinks! We got a bottle of wine and she asked us how we liked our meat done — medium or rare! No in betweens here! None of that medium rare stuff! They were quick and served us right away! They brought steaks, which they serve half to you with frites and the other half when you’re done so they stay hot! It is all cut up for you. And boy, it was delicious! It was a random find but it was one of the best meals of our trip! The steak was soft and tender and cooked perfectly! The sauce was indeed amazing! I would come back here and recommend it to everyone visiting Paris! They also had the best service compared to anywhere else I’ve seen in Paris! The ladies are so so sweet and friendly! The place is jammed packed and you may have to maneuver tables to get in and out but it was quite the experience. We all loved it!

What a wonderful and unique restaurant. The staff was very friendly and courteous. There is no menu and no choices; you enter, sit, and you’re served. You have a choice of white, rose, or red wine. Soon after your wine choice, you’re given a delightful salad topped with a house dress and nuts. After the salad, you’re given French fries and steak. After you have finished that, they offer you seconds, and thirds! Once you’ve eaten all of that, you can opt for coffee and dessert. It may sound odd to just sit and be served without a menu or choices, but it is well worth it!

Had dinner here last night and it exceeded expectations! The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries… SO GOOD!
Definitely served you more than enough food! And the bottle of the house red wine, perfect! The profiteroles for dessert were out of this world! And thanks to the lovely French gentleman who was sitting next to us for sharing his yummy cherry tart!
Great food, great restaurant, and great experience! Oh make sure you go early cause the line does get long quick!

Went here at the suggestion of my hotel reception. Average at best. Mass produced food that could be served at a fast food place. No special charm or feel besides of your typical over packed French restaurant. We weren’t even handed menus even though half the group speaks fluent French. We were just asked how we want our steak cooked with no idea what to expect.

This restaurant might be one of my favorites in the world. I go every time I’m in Paris, even if I have to wait 2 hours in the cold to be seated (they do not take reservations), it’s always worth it. SO good!!!
Also, sitting is really tight. I’m okay with it but it’s something some people do not appreciate that much.

This was an amazing restaurant not so much as for the food but for the experience. There was a bit of a wise but it was not so bad. It’s so packed and crowded inside that the line was outside but it didn’t take long to get out party of 2 in. As soon as being sat down we were given a spicy mustard like salad which was great. My partner doesn’t like sauce so he didn’t eat is lol which upset the waitress. Then our steaks came out. The steak was cooked a perfect medium and although the sauce was good I ended up adding salt to mine. It was also a little oily but hey who cares I’m in France. I had the berry sorbet for desert which was nice and tangy. Our waitress was hilarious and the house red wine was great. The

Es increíble que un restaurante que ofrezca un solo plato, carne con salsa y papas fritas, tenga tanta cola para entrar. Pues nada vale la pena. Pide el término de la carne y el vino de tu preferencia o el de la casa que es bastante bueno. La única carta que hay es la de postres que por supuesto hay que comer.

This is one of the pit stops when we are in Paris… You need only make two decisions, how cooked do you want your meat and what wine to accompany it… Ok three if you want dessert… In this restaurant, everyone comes there for the one thing: «the entrecôte steak frites» and that is their specialty. What makes it even more special is their sauce (which is a secret family recipe). Now I love fries, and their fries are deliciously thin and crispy and go oh so well with the sauce and steak, and you usually get a second serve of fries which we never turn down :) if you have room for dessert, they make a great «vacherin»
One tip though: try to arrive at least ¹⁵⁄₂₀ minutes before they open because their place gets packed even before it opens with people lining up early… And they only take walk ins so no reservations

Alors, j’ai pu lire certains commentaires, notamment quelqu’un disant que cela n’égalait pas la véritable Entrecôte qui se trouverait à bordeaux… heuuu comment te dire? un autre restaurant portant un nom identique sans doute… mais l’original c’est celui du Blvd Pereire (créé en 1959). Celui de bordeaux a été créé après par un autre membre de la famille, d’après ce que j’ai pu lire. Donc à mes yeux ça n’est pas l’original même si on y retrouve semble t’il les mêmes produits. Il y en a d’autres aussi a Lyon Toulouse et Nantes. Mais Paris ça reste le «Relai de Venise», dit «l’entrecôte de la porte maillot». Moi j’y vais depuis que je suis en âge d’aller au restaurant, c’est à dire vers l’âge de 3 ou 4 ans. j’en ai 40. Alors en 40 ans, crois moi, les frites ont toujours quasiment le même gout et je doute qu’il y a 40 ans les frites fussent surgelées.
Alors oui c’est un concept. On mange tous pareil. le riche comme le moins riche. Ca devrait plaire a tout le monde ça, l’égalité culinaire. Mais si on va a l’entrecôte, on y va pas parce qu’on a vu de la lumière… ni même la longue, très longue queue qu’il y a le soir, en toutes saisons. Non, on y va car on sait où on met les pieds. On mange tous une salade de noix ridicule en entrée et en plat principal, la viande de bœuf en tranche, relativement bonne, et jamais assez à mon goût, et de bonnes frites fraiches, de là a dire qu’elles sont coupées dans la cuisine au levée du jour j’en doute, mais fraiche c’est très probable… (Il existe des sociétés qui livrent des frites fraiches découpées et épluchées industriellement. Ca né me gèné pas; on est plus au siècle dernier où un petit commis passait ses journée à éplucher de la patate !!!)
Et il y a surtout «LA» fameuse Sauce. imitée mais jamais égalée.
il y a 3 «fausses» Entrecôtes dans Paris (Opéra, Champs Élysée et rue Marbeuf) aucune n’a jamais réussi a trouver la recette secrète de la sauce.
Moi étant petit je voyais des gens commander le menu, et refuser viande et frites, uniquement la sauce et du pain… pour saucer !!! que je les comprend… hummmm
après les gouts et les couleurs… on aime ou on aime pas; mais de la a dire qu’une sauce mondialement célèbre, adorée par des centaines de milliers de clients depuis près de 60 ans, est pas bonne…ça n’est pas, à mes yeux, un avis objectif.
Alors oui les serveuses sont expéditives, et parfois glaciales, mais quand j’étais gosse c’etait déja comme ça. On est pas au Planet Hollywood !! elles né sont pas la pour faire copain copain avec le client !! Mais mettez vous à leur places: quand vous avez une queue de 50 ou 60 personnes qui attendent, dehors, parfois dans le froid, eux aussi pour manger… et bien elle font leur boulot. Et nous si on est pas égoïste et bien élevé, on se doit de manger vite et de laisser sa place aux copains !!
quand on est préparé psychologiquement à l’expérience du Relai de Venise, on passé un bon moment gustatif.
A l’intérieur, oui une fois à table on est les uns sur les autres, et pire encore à l’étage supérieur. Mais on est dans un lieux historique et mondialement connu depuis près de 60 ans; ca n’est pas pour rien. et le nombre de râleurs et d’éternels insatisfait est insignifiant comparé aux milliers d’aficionados du lieu !
Le prix? bah si on s’en tiens au menu avec une carafe d’eau c’est correct. On est à Paris et Porte Maillot dans un resto mythique. Sinon faut aller dans un fast food; service rapide et junkfood pas chère de plus la sauce est gratuite !!
donc oui Le Relai de Venise, c’est une découverte à faire.
à éviter si vous aimez les déjeuner ou les diner qui traîné en longueur. On est là pour manger par pour refaire le monde.

Du monde du monde du monde oui ! Mais une fois assis on dirait qu’il faut vite repartir, tres vite servi et re-​servi il faut vite payer et vite digérer !!!

Good food but not sure what the hype is? The sauce is indeed great but perhaps we were overly excited about the food and didn’t live up to expectations.
Not sure if we would go back …

After queuing for a long time, I finally entered the store and enjoyed the steak. The
server keeps refilling your plate and provide you with super apéritif, entrée, plat and dessert.

This was a great experience. We waited over an hour to get in and the other waiting guest were all very friendly while waiting in the cold and the rain. The service was impeccable and it had much to do with Benoite, she was our server and was absolutely AMAZING! The steak was ordered as medium rare and the steak was served exactly as ordered. The frites were also cooked/​fried perfectly. The entire bill for two came to just under 90 euros and that was with salads a bottle of wine and two desserts. Another plus!!! I would highly recommend this establishment while traveling to the city… But get there EARLY or plan to wait for hours.

Mon Dieu! Talk about old time «not good» traditional I dislike Americans restaurant with an attitude. Was directed upstairs, met by no one and sat at one table, then were asked to sit at another table, and the. Once again told that we’d be «more comfortable» at a third. Holy crud, Batman.
Finally, when the waitress came to our table the first words from her mouth were, «how would you like your meat cooked» (in French, which I do speak fluently). Not hello, how are you, good evening, or anything. How do you want yer doggone meat done?

Truly enjoy coming here… 5^th time in 1 ½ years nice vibe, simple menu, reasonable price, good food. From the salad to the steak and chips to the dessert options, highly recommended. We will be back, and thank you again for the great service.

Fun experience where there is only steak and fries given to you from an oven pan the waitresses carry around that are straight from grill. Seems a little unsophisticated but twas quite delicious. We all had a glass of wine but held off on the dessert because we were so full. The meal included a simple but tasty salad. The green sauce on the steak was what gets you to come back though. It’s hard to describe but is savory without being salty at all. They had great looking desserts but we were too full

We found this place on Unilocal our first night. We weren’t sure where to go and the reviews said to expect a line out the door. We figured any place with a line out the door must be good.
Service was just okay, but really they only serve one thing so it is to be expected. The house wine was good, food and portions were great. We thought about going back again before we left, but never found time.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Exceptionnel ! Mon grand père y allait lorsque le quartier était une plaque tournante du commerce automobile, sa petit fille y va avec autant de plaisir… La concept est simple… Plat unique une entrecôte avec sa sauce secrète (à se taper le C… par terre), des petites allumettes juste croustillantes et fondantes… Vous choisissez un bon vin pour arroser tout ça, et on se croirait presque au Paradis… Pour clôturer le festin, n’hésitez pas à prendre un dessert… Le décor et les serveuses en tenue d’époque valent aussi le détour… L’entrecôte c’est un institution et c’est pas du hasard !!

serveuses dédaigneuse et arrogantes n’hésitant pas a nous faire savoir que nous avons tord lorsque nous asseyons de passer notre commande de boisson !!! aucune explication du fonctionnement du restaurant et un ADDITION a tomber par terre pour une viande somme toute commune et c’est cela qui fait courir le tout Paris… quelle déception !!!

There’s something about the french that makes eating iffy for me. You get shoved in whatever space is available so they can make a sale.
So this place is pretty nice at night. It’s dim, intimate and looks like a place for a nice romantic date… along with every french restaurant out there. Once we entered we were seated in a 2 seater that as tightly joined with another 2 seater. They had to move the table to get you into the seat then they move the table in front of you. Rather then space out the tables so you can move between the tables. So that part already put a bad impression for me.
Next was ordering food. The menu is nothing out of the ordinary. Typical french onion soup, pasta, steak, etc. I thought i’d be gutsy and order the steak tartar. I was thinking it would be some small side dish like they do in Canada and you mix the yolk in the raw beef and spread it on bread. The french have it all different. I got a giant dish of raw beef with an egg. It was bigger then my typical 10 oz steak i would have. Once i received it i was asked if i wanted them to prepare/​mix it or i do it… based on experience i thought i’d do it. I didn’t have a clue as to what i was doing with this portion. Turns out there was way more beef then egg. Ruined my appetite for the night.
The soup and bread were very good. The staff were very kind.
Just be cautious of the food you order.

Pour reprendre des commentaires déjà exprimés, ce lieu ressemble en de nombreux points à l’Entrecôte à Bordeaux.
Ainsi, le plaisir de déguster une bonne viande est là!
Une mention spéciale pour les serveuses qui en plus d’être efficace sont agréables.
L’attente et le bruit seront vite oubliés pour les amateurs de viande qui se déplaceront.
Endroit à tester au moins une fois.

Get there early or be prepared to wait. Actually, be prepared to wait regardless. You have to wait for the place to open (people start lining up 45 minutes before opening time!) or you have to wait for the people who are eating to finish, pay, and leave. The first is more deterministic and my preference.
There is one main course on the menu: steak frites with special sauce. You get a salad and bread beforehand, but your only required decisions are how you want your steak cooked and what you want to drink. Should you choose dessert and/​or coffee, you’ve got a couple more.
Once you settle in, be prepared for TWO helpings of both steak and fries. This keeps the second half from getting cold while you eat the first batch. Genius!
Save room for dessert, but bring your knowledge of French, adventurous spirit, or both. Although it was beyond me to decode every item on the dessert menu, I don’t think you could go wrong. The chocolate sauce on our profiteroles was tasty and the sliced almonds were fresh and crunchy.
This is not the place to go for a leisurely French meal. They pack you in and serve you quick: one benefit of the simple menu. That said, we never felt hurried and our waitress was excellent.
It may be a little bit on the pricey side, but probably worth experiencing at least once, especially if you’re in the area.

My husband and I visited this restaurant in early September. We heard great things and we were def not disappointed with our meal! We loved it so much we came back again our last night in Paris.
The restaurant does not take reservations and they are extremely busy so it’s best to arrive before they open if you are looking to have a 7ish dinner. We got lucky and arrived right after the first seating and got a table for 2, we quickly saw the line start for their second seating. For our second visit we weren’t so lucky and had to wait an hour to be seated.
Dinner starts with drinks and fresh bread, followed by a delicious salad with a tasty mustard dressing.
Then the main course! Steak frites! The meal is absolutely mouth watering, the best part is when they come around and serve you seconds :-)
For dessert you have several options all of which look amazing.
I think the price is reasonable for Paris standards. The service we received both nights was great.
Can’t wait to go back!

It’s been a tradition for over half a century. They don’t take reservations. They won’t even take your name or give you a number. There are no fancy pagers or buzzers. You stand in line to wait for your table. At any time of the day or night that they are open, whether it’s rain or shine, scorching hot or freezing cold, there’ll be a line. And the line can stretch around the block. We went there on a Monday night at around 9:15PM and waited for about 30 — 40 minutes. Not bad.
There is no menu. You don’t need one. Everybody eats the same thing — steak frites (steak and fries). All you need to order is how well you want your steak done.
There’s a limited wine list but the quality was good and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered a half bottle of the house wine, which was a 2012 AOC Saint-​Emilion, and it was a great value.
Our dinner started with a salad which was tossed in a light vinaigrette which we liked. It was then followed by half of our steak frites. Yes, they only serve you half the steak and the other half is kept warm over a chafing fire. However, it didn’t appear to work for us as our second half of the steak was not really warm at all. Maybe it was just a one-​time glitch.
And they only serve you half the fries. When they bring you your second half of the steak, they also bring you more fresh fries. The second serving of fries for us were good — literally fresh from the fryer.
The steak was tender, juicy and flavorful. Their famous «secret sauce», was good but not really that great. But that is of course a personal taste, as I saw diners in neighboring tables soaking up all the sauce with bread. It was that yummy good for them!
The place is crammed and tables are very close to each other and you will be seated inches from your neighbors (but this is almost the norm for many restaurants or cafes in Paris). You will literally be rubbing elbows. So if you are looking for personal space to engage in an intimate conversation, you won’t find it here.
Our server has been really wonderful. She has been super friendly, and was always wearing a big welcoming smile on her face. Service has been really prompt and professional. (Disclaimer: I spoke French with her so maybe that made a difference. I’ve read numerous reports about rude service in Paris but we’ve never experienced that our entire week there.)
Overall, a solid 4-​star experience and I highly recommend any Paris visitors who like steak frites to give it a try. It is easily accessible and is right at the Porte Maillot station of the Metro line 1 or RER line C.

Viande et sauce incroyables!
Très bonne carte de desserts (le gâteau au chocolat du relais, miiiiam!)
Par contre, ambiance cantine (tables cote à cote, très bruyant, service expéditif mais aimable), et impossible de réserver, donc venir faire la queue en avance!

Un restaurant décontracté où la qualité est au rendez-​vous. Trouvé absolument par hasard, la terrasse ensoleillée bondée attira mon regard.
En effet pas de menu sauf pour les boissons et desserts, tout le monde est à la même enseigne. Deuxième fois pour ma part que je me retrouve dans ce type de concept, je né me rappelle plus du nom du premier resto, juste le fait qu’il était situé non loin de l’église de Saint-​Germain des Prés.
La petite salade aux noix en entrée reste simpliste, en revanche la viande et sa sauce sont excellentes, possibilité de reprendre une part selon l’appétit.
Mention spéciale au dessert, des fraises d’une fraicheur et d’un gout incomparable.
En résumé, bon rapport qualité prix malgré un service rapide.

Tous ceux qui ont connu le véritable et l’unique Entrecôte, je parle de celui de Bordeaux, peuvent comprendre ma déception. On s’attend à revivre les mêmes émotions de découverte et de gourmandise, mais ce relais n’est qu’une maigre consolation.
Pour tous ceux qui n’ont pas connu la même expérience que moi, je né peux dire qu’une chose: le souvenir laissé n’est qu’une première étape vers ce moment cher à tout amateur de viande de boeuf.

Cher mais y aller pour se faire sa propre idée
Nous voulions essayer nous l’avons fait ! pas véritablement d’attente ce jour à 12 h, beaucoup de personnes d’un certain âge et surtout des habitués je pense. L’addition est salée 155 € pour 4 adultes, pour une petite salade verte aux noix, 5 petites tranches de bœuf (excellentes, on parle d’entrecôte pourtant le gout, l’aspect et la forme font penser plus à du filet de bœuf) des frites mais certainement pas maison ! (ceux qui prétendent le contraire né doivent pas souvent manger des frites maison !) 4 desserts et une bouteille de vin. Il y a deux salles dans ce restaurant, dont une à l’étage où se trouvent d’ailleurs les toilettes, avec un escalier très étroit à monter et des toilettes aussi exiguës que les marches qu’il faut monter pour s’y rendre. Sinon le service est agréable, l’ambiance familiale.

Au Relais, pas besoin de carte des plats car tout le monde mange la même chose: une entrecôte-​frites. Je n’attribue que trois étoiles parce que même si la viande se mange toute seule et est accompagnée de bonnes frites, la sauce persillée qui l’accompagne est grasse et il n’en faudrait pas beaucoup pour qu’elle en devienne vite écoeurante. En revanche, les desserts sont vraiment bons, gourmands et généreux. Ce serait dommage de s’en priver.
Pour le côté négatif: c’est très vite complet, donc bruyant, et il y a un côté «usine» qui me gêné un peu. Les serveurs et serveuses sont très agréables et au taquet, mais on sent qu’il faut que ça tourne vite pour être rentable, d’où le manqué de charme de l’établissement.
C’est à tenter au moins une fois si vous êtes dans les parages et qu’il n’y a pas encore foule.

On m’a venté mainte fois ce restaurant et j’en attendais tant! Trop peut-​être.
Alors oui, la viande est excellente. Mais déjà, je suis pas fan du concept de «tout le monde mange pareil», ça m’a rappelé la cantine de l’école primaire.
Ensuite, la sauce qui est apparemment reconnue, perso je né l’ai pas trouvé si exceptionnelle que ça. Y’a quoi dedans?
Et enfin, les frites… bof. Je les fais mieux moi-​même. Etant donné le volume de frites qu’ils servent et resservent par jour, ça m’étonnerait qu’elles soient «maison».
Le meilleur pour la fin, j’ai kiffé pouvoir choisir mon dessert et mes profitéroles étaient parfaites!

Une adresse conviviale pour manger lorsqu’on a envie de se faire plaisir autour d’un bon contrefilet-​frite !
Ici, le concept est clair, on prend tous la même chose ! Un menu très simple mais efficace.
La viande est bonne, accompagnée d’une petite sauce, et les frites sont également bien savoureuses. Une serveuse de l’établissement te sert, super aimable, elle pourrait être ta grande tante.
Et toi qui pensais avoir pas mal mangé d’une assiette assez remplie, en fait non, des frites si tu en veux on t’en ressers. Forcément tu né dis pas non, parce que c’est quand même «vachement» bon.
Et pourquoi pas un petit bordeaux pour accompagner tout ça ?
Pour ce qui est des desserts, il y’a le choix, et c’est généreux. Personnellement, j’y prends toujours les profiteroles, car ils y sont très bons et servis en bonne quantité !
Bref une adresse conviviale et où il fait bon aller lorsqu’on a envie de passer une soirée au resto avec des amis.
Un conseil tout de même: Ici, pas de réservations, venez tôt ! Il y’a deux services, un à 19H, l’autre à 22H.
Sinon, attention à la queue qui peut faire plusieurs mètres de long !

De moins en moins bien, je suis client depuis 35 ans
Cela diminue dans l’assiete, mais l’adition augmente comptez à deux, avec une demi bouteille de vin, un dessert pour deux et un café pour deux 76 €. Cela fait un peu cher, car des frites ce n’est pas ce qui coute ! De plus l’entrecôte diminue à vu d’oeil ! Je frequente cette établissement depuis plus de 35ans ! Par contre les serveuses sont toujours aussi aimables et agréables à regarder…

Dieser Abend hat meine Reise gerettet Dank Qype haben wir das Restaurant gefunden und die Anweisungen befolgt: früh kommen, bis 19 Uhr in der Schlange anstehen.
Zack Zack wird man dann von freundlichen Damen in schwarzen Kleidchen mit weissen Kragen und Schürzen hinter eines der Mini-​Tischchen geschoben, nach Getränken gefragt, wie mögen Sie Ihr Fleisch?.
Brot und Bier kommen flugs, bewundernswert wie hier die vielen Salatteller (voll) geschichtet und auf die Tische verteilt werden. Salat ist ok, nicht so hinreissend.
Dann kommen auch schon bald kleine (sehr heisse) Teller mit vier Scheiben Entrecôte und Pommes. Meine Begleitung war erstmal etwas enttäuscht ob der Menge (für 26,50EUR), aber als dann nochmal die gleiche Menge Nachschlag kam, versöhnt.
Es gibt auch eine Auswahl von drei, vier oder fünf Weinen aber offensichtlich folgt man auch gern der Empfehlung, denn ich habe überall nur die gleiche (kleine oder große) Flasche gesehen.
Anschließend wird eine ausführliche Dessert-​Karte gereicht, das Sorbet war prima.
Wir kommen wieder und testen dann auch was anderes!

Oui, c’est bon, je né peux le nier, d’où les trois étoiles.
Mais bon, impossible de réserver donc vas y que je fais la queue. Niveau prix, je trouve que c’est un peu abusé, surtout qu’il n’y a pas le choix! Après tout, c’est le principe, n’y allez pas si vous avez envie de poisson par exemple…
Et puis c’est l’usine, pas d’intimité, pas de charme… Je trouve ça dommage.

Absolument délicieux… rien à redire, la viande, la sauce, le service et l’ambiance, tout est au top pour passer une bonne soirée. Cela vaut la peine de faire la queue pour manger! Et on né s’en lasse pas…

J’ai maintes fois déjeuné dans cet endroit du temps où je travaillais à la Défense dans un cabinet qui s’appelait encore Arthur Andersen & Cie, devenu depuis Accenture.
J’ai eu l’occasion plus rare d’y revenir de temps en temps depuis. La viande et les plats y sont toujours excellents, et la qualité est maintenue.
Tout le monde l’appelle d’ailleurs l’Entrecôte tant Venise semble bien loin de l’assiette qui vous y est servie.

Et bien, je suis toujours aussi content d’y retourner et je me régale à chaque fois.
Certes, il y a la queue, mais ça fait partie du jeu; certes, une fois le café avalé il faut laisser la place à ceux qui attentent Mais que les bouquets de fleurs sont beaux et que la viande et sa sauce incomparable restent bien en mémoiré d’une fois sur l’autre

ici un seul plat (ou presque) du moins une specialité: le contrefilet frites ! bref le steack frites comme on aime à la maison.
ici on attend dehors, on né reserve pas un conseil si vous êtes pressé venez tôt.

Nicht umsonst wir dieses Resaurant in vielen Reiseführern empfohlen.
Es ist einfach kultig und eben Anders. Es gibt hier keine Speisekarte sondern eben Entrecôte mit Pommes und einer ausgezeichneten Estragonsauce. Vorher bekommt man einen Salat mit Walnüssen serviert und dazu wird frisches Weißbrot gereicht. Wer hier reservieren will wird freundlich darauf hingewiesen das dies hier noch nie möglich war. Also steht man kurz vor 19.00 Uhr in einer Warteschlange und hofft auf einen Platz. Ab 19.00 Uhr geht dann alles sehr schnell und professionell und man sitzt innerhalb 3 Minuten in diesem schönen Restaurant. Wer allerdings erwartet hier längere Zeit zu verweilen wird entäuscht sein. Kaum ist der letzte Bissen in den Mund gewandert, wandert auch schon die Rechnung auf den Tisch.
Interessant und angenehm ist auch das breit gefächerte Publikum.

La meilleure entrecôte-​frites de la terre !
On vous reçoit l’oeil vif et tenue retro impec. Après la salade verte aux noix, sauce parfois trop moutardée mais c’est rare, vient une première assiette de viande coupée en tranches accompagnée de frites + sauce secrète: à s’en pourlécher les babines ! On se dit: tiens, je m’en ferais bien une deuxième assiette… et on vous ressert ! oui c’était prévu ! Seule la cuisson de la viande, les boissons et les desserts (large éventail) sont au choix, mais allez-​y les yeux fermés ! enfin, il faut quand même suivre la queue: pour l’éviter, allez-​y vers 13h15 ou 22h !

In dem Reiseführer der Süddeutschen Zeitung Ein perfektes Wochenende in Paris wird das Relais de Venise empfohlen. Eigentlich hatten wir gar nicht vor hinzugehen und landeten dann mehr oder weniger durch Zufall dort, weil unser Hotel gleich um die Ecke war.
So, nun standen wir also in einer Reihe mit vielen Menschen vor allem vor uns. Das ist dort so üblich, da das Relais keine Reservierungen annimmt und warteten bis geöffnet wurde. Wir hatten Glück und bekamen noch einen Platz. Einmal drin bekommt man nur zwei Fragen gestellt; Wie soll es gebraten werden und rot oder weiß (mit letzterem ist der Wein gemeint). Wir gaben also unsere Bestellung auf und warteten. Wir bekamen unsere Getränke und dann kamen die Kellnerinnen auch schon mit dem Salat. Der Salat ist zwar simpel aber ein Traum, mit Nüssen und einem sagenhaften Dressing. Danach wurde das Entrecôte serviert. Gut das Fleisch kriegt jeder ambitionierte Hobbykoch hin, aber die Estragonsauce ist und ich muss mich wiederholen ein Traum. Das Relais ist für uns ein gutes Beispiel dafür, dass hervorragendes Essen nicht immer mit viel Schischi einhergehen muss. Das Rezept der Sauce ist übrigens geheim, sie wird in alter Tradition hergestellt und die Tochter des Erfinders hütet es bis heute. In o.g. Reiseführer wird es zwar ansatzweise beschrieben aber bei meinen Nachkochversuchen bin ich kläglich gescheitert. Das Relais ist zwar schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr aber man sollte es besucht haben.

Es ist und bleibt ein muss, bei jedem Parisbesuch! Sparsame Speisekarte und garantiert nix für die fleischlose Kost, dafür sind die Desserts ein wahrer Traum.

Sehr gutes Entrecôte mit der über die Grenzen von Paris hinaus bekannten, häufig imitierten, nie erreichten Estragonsauce und Pommes Frites. Nicht verwundert sein, mehr gibt es nicht auf der Karte!
Früh kommen, sonst wartet man sehr lange auf einen Tisch. Wir waren zum Glück schon gegen 19 Uhr hier.
Hat man einen Tisch, hat man dann durchaus das Gefühl abgefertigt zu werden, um Platz zu machen für die nächsten Besucher.
Trotzdem, aufgrund der für Paris fairen Preise, dem guten Essen und hohem Kultfaktor empfehlenswert!

Das Relais de Venise nahe Port Maillot und dem Hotel Concorde de LaFayette ist ein französisches Kleinod. sicherlich ist es kein Gehimtip mehr, das sieht man schon an der Schlange vor dem Restaurant (also früh kommen ab 19 Uhr) allerdings verströmen die Damen im Haus ein flottes pariser Flair das man erst einmal verstehen muss. anfangs denkt man sich sie sind kurz angebunden, aber wenn man erst mal sitzt dann versteht man an der Menge der Menschen in den zugepackten Gasträumen, dass die Damen einiges zu tun haben. Das Entrecôte ist ein genuss (Achtung man bekommt 2 Stück nacheinander serviert) und die Dressing auf dem Beilagensalat ein Gedicht. Am besten sitzt man meiner Meinung nach an einem nicht zu heißen Tag im oberen Stockwerk (Achtung sehr enge und steile Treppe) am äußersten Fensterplatz.
Insgesamt ein sehr zu empfehlendes Restaurant mit noch verträglichen Preisen, der Hauswein (rot) ist uneingeschränkt zu genießen.

Je né mange pas souvent de la viande rouge, ce qui né m’empêche pas de l’apprécier, je pense que c’est un produit qui né supporte pas la médiocrité.
Alors, tant qu’à faire… une référence parisienne.
L’accueil et le service sont efficaces et sans chaleur, pas de carte,
Au menu salade, entrecôte, frites; salade aux noix sans histoires, entrecôte fondante et cuite à la perfection en 2 services pour une dégustation idéale, frites maison comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent, la sauce maison incontournable dont je croyais bien me passer glisse toute seule.
En plein dans le mille.

Herrausragend gutes Steak mit Estragonsauche und Pommes Frites! Absolut zu empfehlen, allerdings kann die Schlange sehr lang sein…
