Le Relais Odéon

Le relai Odeon, ou notre QG avec une amie à Paris ! Découvert par hasard il y a quelques années alors que nous flânions du côté d’odéon, cette brasserie parisienne est vraiment sympa, le service également (oui oui à Paris!) et la carte est variée !
Mais le gros plus de cette adresse c’est la terrasse à l’arrière dans une petite rue piétonne, où il fait vraiment bon s’éterniser les soirs d’été
Dernier + et pas des moindres quand on connaît l’état de certains … Les toilettes sont vraiment clean !
Pour finir, les prix sont loin d’être exorbitants par rapport aux prix du marché parisien ;)
Bref, une bonne adresse où l’on vient profiter de la terrasse, boire du vin et se délecter d’une ou plusieurs planches !

Good service, good food. What more can you ask for… We came here on a Wednesday evening, and while other restaurants — that supposedly closed at midnight — turned us away when we showed up at 11 pm (a whole hour before closing), this restaurant welcomed us in. We had a very friendly waiter and were greeted nicely by the other servers as well. FOOD: We had the mini cheese platter trio and the shrimp rissoto. Tasty and well prepared. They also had a nice selection of wines. My favorite was the Rose Boulanjais. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, because good food is hard to find in Paris — yes, I know, surprising. We would come back here again!

Great spot — I actually landed here looking for Le Comptoir because the cab driver was lost (so was I) but must say this was a pleasant brasserie and I would return!
The staff was friendly and greeted at the door. English was not a problem, food was good, price point was acceptable that if I lived in the area I could come more often to test out the food.
They got really packed by 3pm, so get there early! A comfortable, non-​pretentious spot!

Typical French café. Food is good, but not remarkable. Location is great. Service is nice. Full menu. Nice salads, great desserts. We enjoyed it.

The food is absolutely overpriced, and not good. I had a salmon and it was obviously overcooked but they did not deduced it from the bill. I won’t come back.

Ordered two coffees and was surprised to find that I were to be paying 10.5 euro for them. For that price I would expect them
to be delivered by a golden unicorn doing backflips down a rainbow but unfortunately they were only delivered by a human who didn’t even do a backflip. One star.

Bof. On cherchait un endroit sympa pour se poser et prendre un verre dans un endroit calme et nous sommes tombés sur la terrasse du Relais de l’Odéon qui donne sur la Cour du Commerce Saint André.
Nous avons dû attendre au moins 10 minutes pour que le serveur vienne prendre notre commande puis attendre encore 20 minutes pour être servis. Nous n’avons commandé que des smoothies, qui étaient certes bons, mais né prenaient absolument pas 20 minutes à être préparés.
Au moment de payer nous avons dû aller payer en caisse car le serveur n’est jamais venu nous donner l’addition.
Bref, service inexistant. Il y a des meilleurs endroits où boire un verre/​café dans le quartier.

Once again I’m surprised by the disparity of reviews for this Brasserie which for us provided a pleasant meal with exceptional service. My wife and I spotted Le Relais while seeking refuge from the rain. We initially simply wanted to hide under the extensive canopy and enjoy its view of the surrounding shops and streets. However once greeted by our waiter we elected to sample their menu. Granted it is simple, but the dishes provide a nice choice including the veal steaks I enjoyed and the lighter fare my wife loved with a salad topped by an egg. The staff let us enjoy a glacial pace to enjoy our meal, wine and coffees. The views, service and selection make this a spot worthy of a second look when shopping nearby.

Dare I say this is my favorite restaurant in Paris???
First of all, Le Relais Odéon is super conveniently located. It’s literally steps across the street from the Odéon métro stop and just around the corner from the lovely Saint Michel area. Saint Michel has pretty terrible food from my experience, so walk a few minutes and come here instead! The food is reasonably priced (for Paris) with a wide variety of meats, risotto, and even gluten free pasta. As a celiac, the food and location combined could not make this restaurant any better for me. The pasta with cherry tomatoes and greens has become a staple for me, rotating it with the creamy risotto. Both are so great and under 15 €!
But perhaps the best part of this place is the ambiance. You can look out onto the bustling street even from the tables inside. The waiters are super nice, and the décor makes you feel like you’re at a classy restaurant without paying classy restaurant prices. Bonus: their half-​off happy hour goes until 10 p.m. and has really strong and flavorful drinks!
If you’re in Paris and looking for a place to eat in the Saint Michel area, come here. And if you’re a celiac like me, you can’t miss the gluten free pasta — it’s a rare find in Paris!

Endroit très agréable, lumières tamisées et ambiance pub mais classe, pour y déguster une bonne liqueur ou un bon vin. Restaurant aussi avec carte diverse et choix d’un wok de nouilles aux gambas et tarte aux citrons. Le serveur est très sympathique, chaleureux et «joueur» avec les clients mais aussi avec les plus jeunes. Dans cette ruelle calme, je recommande vivement.

If you are a self-​proclaimed foodie (face it, which foodie is not self-​proclaimed) or you just enjoy eating tasty food, you’d want to avoid this place. This restaurant is not designed for people who like food but more for people who want to sit in a quaint little Parisian alley by St Michel/​Odeon. The good thing is that the menu is small, so at least you wont be spending your time wondering whether it’s because you made the wrong choices or because the food actually sucked. The food actually sucks.
I came here for a business meal and we ordered a plate of charcuterie to share and the charcuterie was stale and tasted funky (supermarket charcuterie that’s been sitting around for too long). I had a veal hanger steak (they dont ask you how you like it cooked. it comes out medium) and i opted to trade the blue cheese sauce with bearnaise. The sauce was delicious. I did not finish my steak, or my fries. It just wasn’t good.
The prices here are at least somewhat reasonable, hovering around 15 to 20 EUR for main dishes. Next door down at le pub st germain, expect the price to rocket 2x that. But then again, you’re not here to eat, you’re here to enjoy the atmosphere, so relax, enjoy some wine. It could be a lot worse: the servers here speak really good English.

Visited this spot on my first night in Paris last September 2013. My travel buddy and I met up with some Parisian friends who brought us here. We sat outside on a somewhat cold, drizzly night… but that didn’t matter… we were in PARIS!
The waiter was nice and attentive. The 4 of us all ordered different glasses of wine… delivered to our table within minutes. Then we shared a crème brûlée… it was good. While I did not dine inside, the exterior was nice and had adequate seating… if you enjoy «people watching» sit outside.
It was somewhat pricey and there was overwhelming amounts of smoke (totally expected it)…but I enjoyed the service and overall atmosphere. I would go again.

We stumbled upon Le Relais Odéon while wandering around the area during our vacation. I loved it so much, I had to go back! The shrimp & asparagus risotto is amazing. YUM!!!

Steak was bland and tough, chicken another night was overcooked. Excellent garlic potatoes! Ok food in general, below Paris standards. We were amazed how fast food was delivered after ordering. Beautiful interior, great location off cute cobblestone side road.

You’re in St-​Germain-​des-​Pres so expect to get killed price-​wise, but this is a nice, relaxed place to grab a bite of traditional cuisine or just a coffee or drink. Gonna get more «smoke» than you are used to…

Pas mal !
La terrasse qui donne sur le boulevard Saint-​Germain est à éviter si vous né voulez pas avoir à vous hurler dans les oreilles; par contre, la terrasse cachée, dans la rue derrière, est beaucoup plus agréable. L’intérieur est cosy avec de grands fauteuils confortables à l’arrière. Bonnes salades (thaï est délicieuse) à des prix un peu élevés mais l’on paye aussi pour le lieu central. Les serveurs en terrasse sont plutôt sympa.

Food quality low especially for price. Limited options. Nice location. Smoke was overwhelming.

We found this place during our walk looking for a place to have dinner. Got there about 7:30 PM and got a seat inside. Our waiter was exceptional and charming. The food was great. We (my wife and I) both had the black angus with fondants potatoes. The service was speedy and the food was great. For dessert, my wife had Café Gourmand and I had the House Apple Tart. Both were great choices. We weren’t rushed out and had a great time just sitting and talking over food, wine and dessert.=

Bön, c’est hyper touristique et assez cher. Rien de d’étonnant.
D’autant qu’ils ont une terrasse très bien située (parfait pour respirer les pôts d’échappement…)

Charmant endroit
L’endroit est fort mignon, typiquement parisien. C’est une jolie découverte. On est tout près d’Odéon et sa cohue, mais la ruelle du bar est très calme. C’est très agréable pour y boire un verre en extérieur. J’ai beaucoup apprécié.

Bistrot sympa, à l’écart de la rue bruyante de l’Odéon, rue pavée (un peu casse-​cou tout de même car les pavés sont en très mauvais état), Pour le lieu, ça va donc, à l’exception de notre table un peu bancale (à cause justement des pavés) et de l’étroitesse des lieux (obligé de se lever pour laisser passer un convive d’une autre table). Bistrot fréquenté par des touristes qui y viennent par hasard (pour né pas aller aux restos vraiment, pur le coup, très attrape-​touristes du vrai Quarter Latin).Cuise maintenant: excellent, rein à dire. Les rougets et leurs légumes sentaient très bons, le hamburger-​frites (un peu cher était bon aussi), la salade végétarienne que j’avais pris était franchement délicieuse et bien fournie (au reste, j’aurais pu me contenter de cette salade seule). Seul bémol, les desserts. Le serveur (très familier mais sympa) nous avait promis des desserts maisonmais franchement je né crois pas ! la tarte tatin trop sucrée (genre sucre des grandes surfaces), la tarte citron hyper acide et immangeable. Vraiment très très déçus par leurs desserts (d’où les 3 étoiles).Donc, oui pour l’ambiance mais non pour les desserts un peu trop sucrés et/​ou acides tout comme l’addition un peu salée (mais pour ça nous avions été prévenus).

J’aime bien boire un chocolat chaud au Relais Odéon en sortant du ciné le dimanche soir, et puis c’est pas très loin de chez-​moi donc pratique pour boire un verre. Le chocolat viennois n’est pas mauvais, et puis ils mettent tout plein de crème, ce qui permet de marquer des points ! Après je né conseille pas d’y manger, car c’est plutôt fade d’après mon expérience. À titre d’exemple, le cheeseburger n’est pas bon et les frites qui l’accompagnent non plus. Je l’ai mangé parce-​que j’avais faim, mais sans plaisir aucun.

The restaurant is in a beautiful neighborhood. The food is decently priced. I ordered the standard French brunch. It was kinda bland for my American taste buds, though. The yogurt was not sweet and the eggs were barely cooked. The French don’t believe in cooking eggs, and serve almost runny stuff that they call scramble. Given my previous posts, you know this girl loves flavorful, bad for you food! I was with good company though, and they were all French and enjoyed the meal. I guess I just need to stick to deep fried heaven.

As a party of 13, squeezed onto a table set for 8, we knew we were in for an uncomfortable experience, but at 9.30pm on a busy saturday evening, figured it might be the best we’d get. The waiters were exceptionally rude pushing past and knocking me constantly, complaining we were in the way, even though they had sat us in this location.
Service was typically french– great when they felt like coming to help, totally ignored when it didn’t suit.
Food menu is extensive, however the standard varied– most of the party enjoyed their food; I can’t say it was bad, I just wouldn’t go back– plenty of much better places to spend your time and money in Paris.

We had dinner in one of our nights in Paris at Le Relais Odeon. We made reservations online which was very convenient. The restaurant is located on a busy corner in the Odeon area, which has a bunch of shops, bars and restaurants.
We arrived and were greeted and seated immediately near the back of the restaurant. The décor of the place is a bit pub-​like and was more casual than we expected. It looked like there was a nice outdoor area, but we were not offered a seat outside.
The food was OK — I had the veal and my wife had the fusilli. Good but not memorable. The service took forever, even for Paris. Our waiter looked like he was serving every table in the restaurant, even outside. Because of the slow service, we skipped the dessert and went to the gelato place around the corner, which was fantastic!
Nice place to have a casual bite to eat for a reasonable price.

Mouais. bon. encore un autre bar impersonnel où l’objectif est de rentrer un max de monde dans l’espace disponible. Il y en autre qui le fond mieux en tout cas.
C’est marrant quand même… après tout, je suppose que certains aiment à s’agglutiner les uns à coté des autres! Mais là, c’est trop.
Du coup, le garçon de café (sur de lui, né prend pas de notes) apporte les mauvaises conso, se plante dans les commandes et rechigne à réparer sa faute en apportant ce qui était commandé. «non merci… je né souhaite pas boire ce verre que je n’ai pas commandé» — «vous êtes sûr.?» — WTF
C’est vrai que l’exercice n’est pas évident, mais si l’objectif est purement le rendement il faut que le service réponde derrière!
Cependant, les cocktails étaient pas mal du tout!

Derrière ils ont une petite terrasse donnant sur une rue pavée, au soleil ou à l’ombré à midi, et c’est vraiment agréable.
La carte est variée et la nourriture très bonne. (mention ++ pour le cheesburger). Le service est souriant, poli et efficace.
Sinon l’intérieur à été refait, c’est design est cosy.
C’est donc une valeur sûre dans ce quartier, je recommande.

Arrivé un peu par hasard dans ce lieu, à la recherché d’un endroit où s’asseoir pour boire un verre avec quelques amis pour pas trop cher…
Côté ambiance, la déco est de type brasserie parisienne, c’est propre, et la clientèle variée.
Côté prix, c’est le quartier qui dicte sa loi: à partir de 10 EUR la pinte de bière et ¹²⁄₁₃ EUR le cocktail, avec un Happy Hour de 19 à 21h qui fait passer ces consos à –50%. On notera que la caisse avance de 5 min, pour les retardataires qui souhaiteraient profiter dans le quartier d’un Happy Hour…
Globalement, ce n’est pas trop mal, et ça conviendra bien pour 1 verre en terrasse ou un peu isolé.

Rentrons à Paris quelques instants. Je vais vous parler d’une expérience très moyenne au Relais Odéon!
Le quartier Odéon n’est plus à présenter! au coeur de Paris, dans le jolie et typique quartier de Saint Germain des Près.
Une vue sur le boulevard saint germain, ou sur une toute petite rue pavé. Le bar a deux expositions différentes. Pour la lumière et le monde choisissez devant, pour l’intimité et le calme la petite terrasse arrière!
Un choix tout sauf vaste, une qualité correct et tout ça pour un prix bien chargé! C’est peu étonnant dans le quartier mais un peu exagéré quand même!
Ajoutons y un service que l’on peut situer entre la médiocrité et le ridicule! Et voilà le tableau tombe! Un mauvais service est un point noir, un très mauvais service gache tout, c’est le cas au relais Odéon!

Nice location, good food, and funny speedy waiters

Resto à touristes mais sympa quand-​même
Très agréable en été car bénéficie d’une terrasse au choix sur la place de l’Odéon ou derrière dans un petit passage, à l’abri des voitures et du bruit. Déco très sympa à l’intérieur, cosy. Brunch à 19,80 euros, très correct.

Un délicieux cheeseburger, une ambiance cool… le service était rapide et plutôt sympa en plus.

MMM… j’ai mal aux pieds, je suis fatiguée, je m’arrêterais bien quelques minutes.
Ca tombe bien, en face de moi, le Relais Odéon. Je suis immédiatement attirée par sa grande terrasse en plein soleil.
Zut. elle est pleine. Il a du succès ce café.
Coup de bol, au moment ou je m’apprête à changer d’avis et d’établissement une petite table se libère.
Ni une, ni deux, je me jette dessus.
C’est vrai que j’y suis bien.
Sauf que c’est bruyant. Très bruyant même.
J’écourte la pause du coup. Un café et je repars.

Situé dans le quartier Saint Germain, Le Relais Odéon m’a immédiatement tapé dans l’œil. Sa belle façade évoquant la création du bistro en 1900 rappelle un Paris d’une autre époque. Le gros plus est sa terrasse qui donne sur une rue piétonne. C’est rare et tellement agréable de trouver un peu de calme à coté d’un si gros boulevard !
Si vous êtes fan de brunch comme moi, vous en avez un, bien copieux, pour 19,50 € le dimanche. Cette brasserie a du charme et reste conviviale.

This is a review not so much of the Odeon itself — a pleasant enough spot for a coffee on the way to elsewhere — but of the building that houses it. Hostory buffs will note that the most famous resident here was one M. Joseph-​Ignace Guillotin, a French doctor, member of the 1789 Assemblée Constituante, and proponent of the Guillotine, the capital punishment device named after him.
Some Paris guide books describe the good doctor as the author of the device and claim that he tested it in the passage behind this building on sheep destined for the tables of the local restaurants (that would be la Procope?). At any rate, he did not develop the device (credit for that goes to another Doctor Antoine Louis), but he might well have demonstrated it here.
Dr. Guillotin, a humanitarian for his times, saw the device as only a first step towards the complete abolition of the death penalty. Unfortunately for him, and to the deep chagrin of his family, he instead became the very symbol of the bloodbath that ensued.

Situé en face du métro Odéon, ce café est un classique pour les habitués du quartier.
Les happy Hours (19h21h) proposent toutes les Bières et Cocktails à moitié prix.
Petit bémol les serveurs sont parfois un peu speed, mais vu le flux des personnes c’est excusable :)

Une brasserie chic bien placée dans le quartier. Très beau décor, autrement le service, les garçons se croient au bistrot du commerce à côté du flipper, mauvais. Quant au menu, moyen, passablement touristique.

BRUNCH TOPISISME !!!
Je vous le conseille, c’est très sympa service rapide et le brunch (19EUR) équilibré et très copieux: bon rapport qualité prix !
