Le Rouge Sainte Catherine

If you’re a tourist, you’ll love this place. Its authentic bistro/​brasserie fare, reasonably priced with lovely service. It’s located in a lovely little courtyard in the heart of the Marais.

Paris has a lot of restaurants, and many of them are better than this one. There’s a lot of great food in the Marais, but unfortunately this one seems to be popular because of its location, not because of its food. And I go to restaurants for food. I am hoping it was because their chef is on vacation for the month of August, but there’s really no excuse when it comes to classic French fare.
The waitress was extremely friendly, so the service was a pleasure.
This place is located on the very cute and somewhat touristy place du Marche St. Catherine. After finding the local favorites either full for the evening or closed for an august vacation, we figured a trip to the square would be a sure bet. This square is always full, but the standard place we go to there was closed, and group I was with didn’t feel like Korean. This restaurant is always packed but happened to have a free table this time when we walked by.
The menu is your usual standard dishes: magret du canard, confit du canard, three different cuts of steak, five fish options, etc. But unfortunately, none of the dishes were executed very well, not even the vinaigrette dressing on my salad or the mousse au chocolat. The duck was overcooked — not properly «rose.»
It’s not terrible. But standards here are high and there are a lot of better options.

Le restaurant Rouge St Catherine se trouve sur une petite place, faite de dalles, en plein coeur du Marais, à l’abri de la circulation et même des allées incessantes des passants.
Vous avez l’impression de vous évader un peu du stress parisien. La terrasse, chauffée l’hiver et ouverte l’été vous permet d’apprécier ce moment à l’extérieur.
La cuisine est orientée méditerranéenne, est la qualité est correcte, dommage car sinon j’aurais mis 5 étoiles.
