Le Saint Placide

Decided to go for dinner after reading other reviews. The food was average, definitely seen way better stakes. The service was extremely slow and only the waiter at the bar spoke English. Defo not coming back.

This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Paris! The staff is simply incredible (especially the lead male server) and the food is just as delicious! Even during peak hours, the wait for a table is very short! Highly recommend the pesto!

Nice place, with fair food. The boss of this café-​restaurant and his deputy, generally behind the bar, are very friendly. The rest of the staff could be more empathic and kinder as they usually are.
I frequently attend this bar, and like very much the part close to the counter. When ordering a «croissant», they also give you jam, which is rather nice and rare in cafés…
A good place in this area !

Very nice server, probably one of the best we’ve had in Paris – didn’t rush us, but didn’t forget about us either. Spoke English and welcoming to tourists! Onion soup was probably just a 3/​5, but the charcuterie plate was unreal… SO many meats/​cheeses, especially for the price. I would recommend this corner café/​restaurant for lunch, wine/​appetizer and people watching for the area.

Un café (et non pas un bistrot comme je pensais en voyant de l’extérieur) avec une carte très classique ou snacks pour ceux qui veulent manger sur le pouce… Donc plutôt pour prendre un verre que pour venir manger.
Sinon, la décoration est sympa avec son look rétro: affiches de vieux tickets de métro avec première et seconde classe (j’avais oublié qu’il y avait deux classes dans le métro avant) et d’autres affiches sur Paris.

Great food and friendly service. I had the omelette campagnarde which came with this little salad with awesome dressing. Coffee with steamed milk was the bomb. Free wifi so I’m doing this review!

Delicious. I got a Croque-​Madame which came with a salad. My parter got the breakfast with baguette, croissant, fried eggs, bacon, and orange juice. They didn’t ask us how we liked our eggs and they ended up being runny for our liking. The croissant was buttery and flaky, but would have been better if it had been warm. Portions were generous though, everything was well prepared, and the service was good so we were both very satisfied. We were able to get away with basic French and the menus had English descriptions. Oh, and the coffee was yummy too!

Excellent place! Service was nice and very tolerant of my rudimentary French. Got the Croque and my husband got one of the savory crepes– both pretty good. The hot chocolate was rich and the milk foamed to perfection on top. Only quibble fort both of us was the way the eggs were cooked; waaay too runny for both of us. No clue how to say ‘over medium’ in the language of Victor Hugo :-(…

J’aime bien cet endroit. Il est assez sobre, le service est sympathique et réactif.
J’y vais surtout pour leurs salades composées ! Je les adore.
Les desserts né sont pas mal non plus et je vous recommande également les piña colada pour les fans de rhum.

I came to this area to find the restaurant I wanted to try was closed for the day. Unfortunately I didn’t have data so I couldn’t quickly Unilocal a place to eat so after wandering around the street, Jay C. and I decided to eat here. There are several cafes at this intersection but we chose this one merely for the menu that was in English.
The food was fine– slightly overpriced but I figured it was because of the area. I was tricked by the «homemade» ice tea which turned out to be a small bottle of lipton tea. The drinks are very expensive here so I would just stick with tap water (make sure you specify tap or else they will bring you bottled water). I had an opened faced sandwich which came with a side salad. The sandwich had wayyyy too much cheese for my liking, but I just ended peeling it off and eating the bread. All in all not a bad place to grab a quick bite to eat. As stated before the menu is in English and the waitresses spoke English as well.

Enfin, j’ai trouve mon café préféré du quartier. J’étudie près d’ici, et c’est fou comme il est difficile de trouver un bon endroit pour travailler et prendre un verre en même temps. Un rapport qualité-​prix très correct, un design chic, des places ensoleillées à côté des grandes fenêtres, des serveurs sympathiques et attentifs — c’est pour ça qu’il y a toujours beaucoup de gens ici. Prends le sandwich rosbif mayonnaise, c’est trop bon.
Pour ceux qui ont envie de travailler ici pendant des heures (comme moi): il faut renouveler l’accès wi-​fi chaque heure en demandant un nouveau mot de passé. De temps en temps (mais ce qui m’est déjà arrivé plusieurs fois), l’internet né fonctionne pas, et ça m’énerve !! Mais Café Saint-​Placide, je t’adore quand même.

My husband and I had our first dinner here on our Paris vacation. It gets kindof busy so the servers seem rushed and not 100% attentive, but luckily still friendly. They offer a wide array of drinks and typical brasserie fare. I had a roast beef sandwich that was quite good and my husband had an open-​faced sandwich that he couldn’t finish bc the cheese ratio was too much and too rich. Le Saint Placide accomodates groups pretty well and it’s cool that they have an outdoor portion of the restaurant dedicated to crepes and other snacks to go.

une brasserie tres sympa, une carte simple mais les produits sont bons et bien faits. des croques monsieurs aux entrecotes en passant par les salades et quiches. et puis détail non negligeable, un verre d’eau est servi avec le café.

L’emplacement est bien, le serveur a été très agréable, le service rapide et la carte est plutôt correcte.
Nous avons pris chacun un cocktail pour se désaltérer après un examen… Mais le dosage était juste affreux: On né sentait que le goût de l’alcool, malheureusement…
Mais peut-​être qu’ils se rattrapent sur leurs autres offres.

Rénové il y a peu, le café saint placide a d’abord eu beaucoup de mal à survivre après la loi anti tabac: il est passé de plein, à toute heure du jour et de la nuit, au vide total. Il a donc décidé de faire peau neuve et depuis un ou deux ans arbore une déco pleine de charme et de goût. mais le mieux, ce sont les repas: il y a peu de choix, mais chaque plat est délicieux. entre ceux qui passent juste pour un croque monsieur et ceux qui veulent un vrai bon plat, tout le monde s’y retrouve. Quant aux plats du jour, ils sont généralement très peu chers et très bons. Si on y ajoute un tiramisu, de temps en temps, absolument délicieux, on a troué le parfait endroit pour manger dans la rue de rennes.

La rue de Rennes dans le 6ème arrondissement de Paris né manqué pas de belles brasseries, et les adeptes du shopping de ce quartier le savent très bien ! Cela dit, suivant les endroits, les surprises sont plus ou moins agréables. Et au «Saint-​Placide «, cette grande brasserie au look design, elle n’est pas si bonne…
On y trouve tout ce qu’on peut espérer d’une brasserie: un bar complet, une carte entre snack et brasserie, dont les assiettes sont d’ailleurs assez copieuses. Cela dit, regardez bien les tarifs car la note peut vite devenir salée. Bref, vous l’aurez compris, le «Saint-​Placide «né m’a pas laissé un souvenir impérissable.
