Fellow travelers, i don’t really know how to start !
If i could give minus rating most probably, i would !
Unprofessional staff totally out of the limits (flirting with my girlfriend every time she was going to the restroom. But let’s say that you random .
As for the food, the service was way worse than i ever had. The way the treated us, i felt bad asking for some water or extra bread .
I ordered a veal steak which honestly for a 20 € dish it wash below average with a supposedly fresh mashed purée (it was one of those in a box, or at least they didn’t know how to make a proper one !
My girlfriend ordered a steak also, asked for a medium one, came raw and therefore she didn’t eat it .
The setting? Absolutely ridiculous. If i wanted to go to the WC, right and left table had to move a bit in order for find a path to the toilet. I couldn’t have a conversation, as i could hear other people’s chat. It was packed with tables, not even the waiters could serve in a proper way .
Bottom line, we payed 80 € for 2 main courses, 1 salad, 1 dessert and 2 glasses of sparkling wine. As a food lover, i went already to some really nice restaurants around Europe, but this fast food type one, it was extremely disappointing & expensive .
I would honestly advice you to avoid this one. In the city of one of the best cuisines of the world, i totally believe you can find something way better, more relaxed and maybe if you research a bit, even cheaper than this !

I’ve had better food in Paris. Honestly, the service wasn’t great and their steamed mussels tasted like they slap their cream sauce into it.

In the hills of Montmartre you often run into tourists… and yes, this is one of those places that has more than their fair share. But the staff are really friendly and the food is decent. So, if you’re in this neck of the woods, stop in.

I ran into this restaurant when I was aimlessly walking on Rue des Abbesses last year in September looking for a place to eat brunch. I read on Unilocal that restaurants on Rue des Abbesses were better than the ones on Place Du Tertre in Montmartre. I am reading mixed reviews about this place right now, maybe, it’s a hit and miss kind of place. My experience was pretty good at this place. The waiter was very nice, friendly, and welcomed me at the restaurant. I got here late in the afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t serving breakfast but the staff was kind enough to serve me breakfast. I love breakfast food, so eat breakfast at odd hours.
The English Breakfast I ordered included a cup of cappuccino, freshly squeezed delicious orange juice, scrambled eggs, a croissant, smoked salmon on a bread, and the most delicious yogurt with granola with strawberry syrup, and I remember it being cheap.

Had the opportunity to have a true Parisien breakfast experience at Le Sancerre on our first full day in Paris. Came across this cute little café while strolling in Montmarte early one morning and stopped in for petit-​dejeuner. There were three petit-​dejeuner options available to order from. I chose the smallest of the three, the Parisien. It came with one of the freshest croissants I’ve ever had in my life, some orange juice, coffee, baguette, butter and jam. My husband ordered the Americaine and it came with a croissant sandwich with ham and cheese as well. We sat at a small table outside and our waiter was friendly and offered us menus in English. Truly a gem, loved it and would definitely come back.

This little place served as our hang out after a nine hour long flight and not being able to check into our hostel for 4 hours. My mom and I ordered croissants and bread along eith tea and orange juice. I liked it, it hit the spot. I like how the wait staff here let us hang around and didn’t try and rush us out.
We came back for dinner twice. First time I ordered three mini hamburger sliders which were tasty and well cooked. Second time I ordered a ham and cheese omelette which was cooked perfectly. I loved sitting on the patio and taking in the streets of Montmartre while enjoying a lovely meal.
Montmartre was my favourite part of Paris so I will definitely be back to this place when I can afford to visit again!

Ecellent service, rapide en plus. Très bonne soupe à l’oignon. Tartate Sancerres à couper le soufflé (parce que bon, parce que bourratif). Tout près du Metro Abbesses. Alcool pas gratuit, mais bonne carte. Bonne ambiance et déco.

Sehr gutes Essen, guter Wein, freundliches Personal. Alles zu akzeptablen Preisen (Entrecôte 18 €, Großer Salat 14 €). Viele Einheimische, was ja generell ein gutes Zeichen ist.

Histoire de mettre un peu de neuf à ces avis ! Happy hour tous les jours de 18 à 20h: cocktails à 6 euros, pinte de 16 à 6 euros (je parle seulement des prix pendant ces horaires). Planche de fromages 17 euros. Serveurs sympathiques ! Chips gratuits en amuse-​gueule à la demande. Plutôt touristique.

This is a very nice restaurant for hanging out, especially considering the location.
You get what you pay for. They certainly don’t serve good food, but you can’t expect much for 16 € on average in Paris.
I certainly can’t confirm that this is a tourist trap. Every time I go here I see mainly locals, being a local myself.
Best of all, they serve german beer. This is a welcome exception in Paris, where you usually only get french and belgian beer.

Um Sacré Coeur herum eine angenehme Bleibe für den Nachmittagsdrink zu finden, bei der man dann auch noch mehr französisch als deutsch/​englisch/​spanisch/​italienisch/​niederlä­ndisch an den Nachbartischen vernehmen darf, bedarf es schon Ausdauer und Glück. Wir hatten beides und sind dann zufrieden hier gelandet und eingelehrt. Mit einem soliden Bordeaux belohnt und einem Blick auf die vorbeiziehenden Mengen auf der Strasse geheftet. Und letzteres obwohl im Innenraum an der Bar positioniert (mein persönlicher Lieblingsplatz, wenn es nicht um Essen sonder «nur» Trinken geht: der Tresen und damit nahe am tatsächlichen Geschehen): die Fensterfronten lassen sich in vollständiger Breite öffnen, so dass man geschützt aber trotzdem mit dem Gefühl an der Bar sitzt, das sehr gute Wetter nicht zu verpassen (sehr passable 17 Grad Anfang/​Mitte März). Wir haben nichts gegessen, doch der Service (unaufgeregt aber interessiert und aufmerksam — Paris setzt hier leider die Messlatte ziemlich weit nach unten) war solide und geradezu freundlich. Ein Stern wird abgezogen, weil der Laden zwar alle Interior-​Klischees von Paris erfüllt, aber halt auch mit viel Fake. Das ist etwas, was ich nicht brauche und nur bedingt empfehle. 4 Sterne also unter dem Vorbehalt, dass wir die Gastronomie nicht vollständig ausprobiert haben.

Sorry, but this place sucks for food. I was eager to go because this place is in the neighborhood where we’re staying AND it was recommended as a good place to write in. We checked it out for dinner after a theater outing. I have to say, I am so DISAPPOINTED. While the décor is (Frenchy-​) nice, if you like food AT ALL, do not eat in this place. It is sorry and FAKE. The dishes are OVERLY SALTED and not really authentic even though it sounds like it o the carte or menu (like the «cocottes,» which are not actually cooked in cocottes!). The confit de canard and pomme de terre (really, «home fries» if you are from the States) were so salty I could only eat half, and honestly the duck seemed microwaved rather than removed from the confit dish and sauteed like it should have been! Go if you are a tourist and want a really nice ambience and nice-​sounding dishes, but DO NOT GO if you have any sort of palette AT ALL. (I do admit that the wine is great, though, as it is everywhere around there, but don’t eat anything!)

We came to see the Sacre Couer back in 2010 but didn’t walk around the neighborhood at all. So naturally, we ventured back to the area because I remembered it seemed interested and of course, we were hungry, so as we wandered around, we found ourselves here. We decided to eat inside near the window so we could watch people. The staff, all men, were very friendly and attractive… LOL! It reminded me of those movies where everyone is beautiful… LOL!
We ordered a bottle of wine, which was very good. I can’t stop saying how great the wines are in France compared to the U.S. I ordered one of their salads cause it was later in the day and I didn’t want to fill up before dinner… LOL! The partner ordered the steak special and though it was tender, it could’ve been a little bigger considering the amount of potatoes that were on the plate. The ambiance is great! The view was fun! The only thing that bothered me was the smoking from the sidewalk tables, but we’re in France and it’s what they do.
This is a great place to sit, converse, and eat. As far as a tourist trap, we were the only tourists, so I think it’s a local hangout. I would definitely come back if I was in the area, perhaps for wine and a cheese board. Again, the staff was very friendly and it was a great place to chill.

Rue Abbesses is wonderful. It has wine shops, patisseries, cheese shops, meat shops, and more than a handful of options for restaurants.
We picked this restaurant upon seeing people with giant cut boards of cheese and meat. It looked incredible with a glass of wine. We went for lunch (after 230pm) and it wasn’t too crowded. It seems as though we were one of the very few tourists, the other guests being an older couple and some teens getting out of school and in pursuit of their café.
Prices are comparable to others in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is much better than any of the restaurants near the Louvre and Tour Eiffel, where you are practically in America. To us, at least here they didn’t address us in English. A few blocks away, right in front of Sacre Coeur is also an American bubble.
We went here again on a Saturday night and it was very busy. They were packed. We were seated next to a party of 6, who friendly locals who chatted with us throughout our meal. They obviously frequent there as the staff knew them by name.
Good choices of drinks!

Caricature bobo de Montmartre
Le leu fut à la mode, branché, dans les années 90 mais ce temps là est bien révolu ! Les serveurs assez désagréables, imbus de leur position dominante dans le quartier, semblent lassés par la clientèle bobo soit disant cool mais qui se la pète et blasés par les touristes qui constituent pourtant des revenus non négligeables. Assiettes assez indigentes comme la qualité des vins. Il y a mieux dans le quartier !

La terrasse permet d’écouter la musique sans devenir sourd. L’ambiance est sympa pour boire un verre, mais serveurs désagréables.

I understand why this place doesn’t get the best reviews… because its a bit of a tourist trap. However, my boyfriend and I stopped in for a bite and drinks after a long day of travel and loved our apps. We got a smoked salmon on toast with eggs and it was amazing! We also got 4 assorted cheeses and it was huge… fairly tasty. My boyfriend tried to order a martini but instead got a Martini of vermouth… haha.
So if you know you’re walking into a more touristy and a bit over priced place, you can just accept it for what it is.

Parfois je rêve du Sancerre avant travauxun lieu qui avait de la gueule ! Depuis que la sirèné a été décrochée du plafond et que la déco a été uniformisée Le Sancerre a augmenté ses prix sûrement pour attirer une clientèle plus haut de gamme et moins étudiante.
Dommage.

My beef tartare was delicious! Nice fire red meat with just the right amount of spices to not overwhelm but compliment. The fries were perfect. The service was friendly and fast. My champagne was 8 euros. What more can you ask for?

je sais bien que l’afflux de touristes leur suffit et qu’ils n’ont pas besoin d’attirer une clientèle d’habitués mais ont ils besoin d’être aussi désagréables? Je n’ai pas tellement de commentaires à faire sur le reste, la qualité de service laisse tellement à désirer que je n’ai aucun autre souvenir.

Service assez désagréable.
Grande terrasse en longueur pour les fumeurs.
Bonne viande et frites plutôt réussies.
La déco peut paraitre originale au premier abord mais fait finalement assez cheap.
Je note au dessus de la moyenne car j’y ai trouvé ce que je cherchais: un bon faux-​filet /​frites à minuit.
Ouvert jusqu’à très tard, ça peut être utile.

Assez d’accord sur le fait que c’est un peu le lieu à éviter des Abbesses depuis que ça a réouvert.
Certainement pas pour les touristes: oui moi je les aime bien, au moins ils sont souriants et avenants EUX, si on veut pas en voir on habite pas à Paris, encore moins aux Abbesses.
Ils servent strictement les mêmes choses que la totalité des brasseries parisiennes, avec les mêmes cartes simili-​luxe carrées moches, dans un décor rétro branché discutable.
Les pauvres touristes, ils se font une image de la France avec des endroits comme ça ;)

Déco sympathique et colorée, belle terrasse, beaucoup de monde et, forcément, c’est un peu l’usine!
Verre de vin rouge (du bourgeuil) complétement éventé. Des martinis classiques (rien à redire) et une exception parmin un choix de bières pas très originales et chères (8 euros la pinte), la Paulaner.
Mais oui, il s’agit bien de la célèbre bière allemande, blonde avec du caractère, du même nom.
Ce soir, j’ai ressenti un vrai faible pour une blonde…
Enfin, vous l’avez compris, c’est rempli de touristes et de locaux, c’est assez cher et ça défile.
Conclusion: la qualité n’est pas toujours au rendez-​vous.
Malgré tout, la terrasse est super sympa!

c’est un peu comme le sacré coeur: tout le monde connait
ils ont fait des travaux et c’est plus claire, plus spacieux, plus propre.
dans la deco qui se veux «un peu art deco «il y a quelques elements qui me gene: art deco fabriqué il y a 3 semaines !!! y’a un truc la !!!

c’est bien dommage c’etait super delirant dans le temps:
clodos, perché, danseuses du moulin rouge, belles gueules, touristes, locaux et josiane la loupe y trainaient …
la bouffe est mieux, il faut bien le reconnaitre .
esperons qu’il redonnent «un peu d’ame trash» a cet endroit et la magie repartira.

Ehhh… not good. Not good at all.
I was served a terrible excuse for a tartine here involving soggy bread and a wilted salad. I’d love to say you can do better but the area is a virtual tourist ghetto so maybe you can’t. Bathrooms are a disgrace.

Mon avis est très mitigé sur le Sancerre. Tout d’abord, il peut etre difficile de trouver une table si vous êtes plusieurs (même à 4 personnes)
Points positifs: une grande terasse (chauffée en hiver) qui donne sur la rue animée des Abesses, de la bonne musique à l’intérieur du bar et une bonne ambiance.
Points négatifs: des serveurs pas forcement dispo et des prix assez élevés pour le quartier.

Que du vent et des larmes, service moyens modestes, des terrasses vue sur rien du tout, le prix très chère et des plats vite fait mal fait.

got myself an omelet for breakfast and realized after staring at other people that omelet might not be a typical french breakfast thing. It was okay though. I wish they undercooked it a little bit more. But I love the way the tables are arranged in a line just to watch everyone else. The guy who was running the place in the morning was funny but quick to do business. Across the street was is also that bakery with the best baguette in paris.

C’est chouette! =) While staying with friends in the Sacre Coeur neighborhood, we stumbled onto this little gem. It’s definitely more «Euro» than French, and they seem to endeavor to have something for everyone. My favorite thing about this place is that they serve tiny dishes of popcorn with you apperitif. I ordered a vodka soda and they brought me something that wasn’t sods, but I didn’t mind. The people watching was fun and the place, with its all-​ages, thumping DJ vibe was absolutely perfect for a Friday evening in Paris.

Le Sancerre pour moi, c’est l’endroit à éviter des Abbesses, la caricature ultime du coin: entre branchouilles fraîchement débarqués dans le quartier, petit monde du cinéma parlant fort de ses projets, et impossiblité de circuler, du faux bon plan dans toute sa splendeur, et ça fait des années que ça dure.
Mais il faut voir le positif, si c’est plein c’est qu’il y en a qui kiffent et c’est là le principal.
C’est juste que concernant ma pomme, ce n’est pas ma tasse de thé.

j’ai un peu lu les commentaires qui précedent le mien. Et bien, sachez que le Sancerre a vient de changer de gestion. Moi je me suis rendue à midi, donc, peut-​être, j’ai eu droit aux meilleurs serveurs. La cuisine est simple mais bonne et, en plus, vus les prix, le rapport est plus que correcte. à la fin ils m’ont même pris en photo: je crois qu’il y a eu un «qui pro quo», je né suis pas une star, mais c’était bien amusant.
PS: je suis restée au moins 4 heures à bavarder avec ma copine et aucune pression pour nous mettre dehors, comme parfois ça arrive…

Une institution du 18ème certes, qui à mon goût, n’est plus ce qu’elle était il y a encore 1 ou 2 ans. Niveau ambiance j’entends. Ceci coïncidant au changement de gérant. La musique «commerciale «a pris le dessus, trop forte, beaucoup trop forte, même à 18heures ! Les serveurs né sont pas très accueillants, alors qu’il fût un temps où c’était THE bar à fréquenter pour passer une bonne soirée: super ambiance, musique pointue, super équipe. Nostalgique je suis !
Alors oui la difficulté du Sancerre, c’est qu’il est à la fois un bar à touristes et un bar de quartier. Pour les touristes c’est super, mais pour les aficionados, c’est moins bien. Cela dit, on y mange toujours bien (le pavé de bœuf façon Rossini) et la terrasse est l’une des seules de la rue des Abbesses à être ensoleillée.
Fidèle au poste pendant plusieurs années, oui c’était mon QG, et j’ai vu le Sancerre changer. Pas à mon goût en tous cas. Mais comme la mode n’est qu’un éternel recommencement, je pense qu’il va reprendre du galon, c’est comme tout, il a juste eu un petit coup de mou !

Difficile de dire du mal du Sancerre, haut-​lieu des Abbesses pour boire un verre… Certes, c’est un lieu où certains aiment à se montrer, le passage devant ce bar branché étant fourni, mais passons outré.
Ici, les serveurs, branchés eux aussi, vous régaleront de plats simples et honnêtes, mais surtout d’excellents cocktails maisons, de boissons abordables d’un strict point de vue financier (dans le quartier, ce n’est pas légion), et d’un endroit finalement très convivial, une fois le barrage de la terrasse passé.
Préférez tout de même l’intérieur: même si la terrasse peut paraître ultra-​sympa, les places y sont très chères et, une fois installé, vous aurez tout le loisir de mesurer combien le trottoir est étroit…

Le Sancerre est une institution de la rue des Abbesses. Preuve en est, le monde qui grouille toujours soit sur la terrasse chauffée, soit aux tables intérieures. Il faut dire que ce bar-​restaurant est tout à fait respectable pour son rapport qualité/​prix, sachant qu’il se situe dans le très touristique quartier de Montmartre.
L’atmosphère rock’n roll du l’établissement, avec groupes musicaux à l’appui, vous séduira assurément, de même que la gentillesse et l’humour des serveurs. Les cocktails coûtent environ 7 € (leur Mojito est très bon) tandis que les plats, typiquement brasserie, tournent autour des ¹⁵⁄₂₀ €. Le traditionnel Demi, quant à lui, est à 3,50 €.
En été, Le Sancerre est bondé, notamment la terrasse qui a vite fait de s’étirer sur l’intégralité du trottoir. Heureusement, l’ambiance est toujours au rendez-​vous. Je n’ai jamais été déçue par mes soirées là-​bas.
PS: Le Sancerre offre un accès Wifi assez rapide. Très pratique pour une petite après-​midi de travail en terrasse. Comme maintenant…

Eine tolle Adresse für günstige Cocktails in Montmartre und eigentlich in ganz Paris. Für 5,50 gab es hier in der Happy Hour Cocktails (als ich noch hier wohnte), leider weiß ich nicht mehr so ganz genau wann die war. Allerdings waren die auch ziemlich gut, so dass ein Besuch in dem Stadtteils immer mit einem Barbesuch verbunden wurde.
Leider ist der Laden nicht sehr groß und die wenigen Sitzplätze draussen auf dem Gehsteig sind sehr beliebt. Aber es hat eigentlich immer gepasst, und dank Heizstrahlern ist es auch wenns kühler wird nicht kalt. Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

On peut y trouver les traditionnels cocktails mais aussi d’autres plus originaux. Le bar dispose d’un terrasse chauffée très agréable.
Le service est très agréable et les prix sont raisonnables bref tous les ingrédients pour une bonne soirée.

Le bar est sympa (ambiance tamisée très agréable à l’heure de l’apéro), la carte des cocktails aussi. mais je n’y retournerai pas.
En effet les prix sont petits mais les verres aussi. Ca a son côté pratique quand on aime en déguster plusieurs encore faudrait-​il avoir du plaisir à en reprendre
Avec des amis nous en avons testé quelques uns et à part la caïpirinha aucun de nous a satisfait (gout de javel dans les russes, menthe pas fraiche dans le morito).
Ce bar est donc à déconseiller à tout amateur de cocktail.

Das Essen ist ganz lecker, die Cocktails auch, der Wein ebenso. Sehr netter Service. Nicht weit von der Sacré-​Cœur bietet sich das Sancerre ganz hervorragend als Endstation eines abendlichen Ausflugs zum Montmartre an.

It is a very typic bar & brewery, and it counts as the rue des Abbesses loses its identity as stores change and become the same

A good vintage
Brilliant place for a cheap, cheerful Sunday brunch before a stroll round Montmartre. Has a cool, studenty vibe and is much more like a pub than a wine bar. Avoid the toilets though. Loud and proud of it.
