My husband and I are staying in the 18th for two weeks and have been having a great time discovering the restaurants in the Montmartre neighborhood near our apartment. We walked by Le Tractor Rouge and thought it looked nice, so we gave it a try. We are very happy we did. In fact, we liked it so much, we went back three nights later. The food is a nicely updated take on classic French bistro fare with very nice wines by the glass that paired nicely with the food. n our first visit, we had a fougasse with a salad and a pumpkin veloute to start, both delicious. For main course one of us had half a young chicken – perfectly cooked and served with a dish of addictive cheese sauce – and the other had a delicious risotto. Desert was chocolate mousse and a house made yogurt, served with blueberry compote and an apple bread pudding. It was all quite delicious and satisfying. Not too heavy and portions that were just the right size. On the second visit, we had a «tartar» of tomato and goat cheese and a veloute of courgettes. Main courses were steak bavette and a lovely pork chop. Added bonus – the proprietors speak English and could not be nicer.
