Les Caves Taillevent

Vins excellents et hors de prix accompagné de remarques racistes!
(Je viens d’emménager à Paris, et j’apprend toujours le français.)
J’ai visité cette caviste avec un ami qui est un homme noir. Il est un sommelier talentueux, aussi. Je suis en train de commencer un cave; je cherchais des bons Côte-​Rôties, et j’ai eu envie de son avis.
L’instant que nous sommes l’entrés, le monsieur qui «a nous aidé» dit, «Bonjour,» et après dit à mon ami, «Vous pourrez pas acheter quelque chose, ici. C’est trop cher pour vous.» Mon ami portait un capuche, et nous sommes jeunes. Peut-​être il a blagué, mais ce n’est pas un excuse pour un remarque si inappropriée.
En suite, comme nous avons regardés autour, le monsieur a répondu à mes questions, mais pas à les questions de mon ami. Quand nous quittions la cave, l’homme a dit à mon ami, «Videz vos poches.»
Je retournerai pas à cette caviste. Il y a un bon sélection de vins excellent: Des bons producteurs, des vins intéressant, Château Petrus, Château Latour, bla bla bla. C’est une caviste pour le consumer sérieuse. Mais, je peux pas retourner là par principe.
Je choisis assumer que le reste de les employées et le propriétaire sont différents que cet homme. Peut-​être cet homme n’était pas dans son assiette. Peut-​être j’ai mal compris son coeur et ses motives. Oui mais, je peux pas retourner là par principe.
Si vous devez rendre un visite là, je vous recommande que vous portez un costume ou un robe et semblez riche. En plus, s’il est possible trouver la même bouteille de vin dans un autre caviste, le prix va être 10%-50% moins cher.
Excellent, over-​priced wines with a side of racist remarks.
I visited this wine shop with a friend who is a talented sommelier and also happens to be black. I am starting a cellar, was searching for good Côte-​Rôties, and wanted his opinion.
The instant we entered the store, the employee who «helped us» said hello and then said to my friend that he would not be able to buy anything in here because of the price. My friend was wearing a hoodie, and we are rather young. Perhaps he was joking, but there is no excuse for such inappropriate comments.
Afterwards, as we looked around, this gentleman answered my questions but did not respond to my friends questions. When we exited the cellar, he told my friend to empty his pockets!
I will not be returning to this store. There is a nice selection of excellent wines: good producers, interesting wines, ice wines, and big name Châteaus, blah blah blah. It’s a wine shop for serious wine drinkers, but I cannot return there on principle.
I am choosing to assume that the rest of the staff and the owner (s) are different than this man. Maybe this gentleman was having a bad day. Perhaps, I misunderstood his heart and motives. Still, I cannot return to this store, on principle.
If you must pay this wine shop a visit, wear a suit or dress and try to look riche. Plus, if you can find the same wine elsewhere, it’ll be on the order of 10%-50% cheaper.
