We chose this restaurant because my husband got a flyer advertising it. That usually means average food. But wow, were we pleasantly surprised. We have our favorite dishes and we were thrilled that they were on the € 22 formule. They did bring the papadum as we sat down and unlike another reviewer, I never have gotten condiments at this point in an Indian restaurant, either here or in the US. We both ordered the same thing. We got vegetable samosas as an entrée and the condiments were delivered with them. They were absolutely delicious. In France the wrapper is a much thinner variety than in the US and that is fine by me. The stuffing was so flavorful and just a little spicy. We then got chicken tikka masala which is less creamy than in the US and again, fine by me. It was also wonderful with a good amount of chicken(6 pieces) and spiced just as we like. I don’t like cilantro and they did not add any extra to any of our food. The serving was just enough for 1 person as I would expect in a formule. My husband got nan and I got paratha which was fluffy and deliciously whole grained. We got dessert which comes with the formule and we both got Gulab Jamun. Yum! It’s true, the service was a bit, shall we say French. But hey, this is France! We will definitely come back here again.

Was open when other places were closed and we were hungry. We knew what we wanted and ordered it – Chicken biryani(poulet) and Chicken Vindaloo(poulet aussi) with a paratha bread. They seem disappointed that we didn’t order the Formule which consists of a lot more food than we wanted. They served us two Papadum(lentil crackers typically served with accompaniments such as coriander chutney, tamarind, and sometimes mango chutney). Just look up the word Papadum in wikipedia or any indian website and you will see that papdum are served with accompaniments. Well, not for us. No accompaniments for us. I guess the server thought to himself, «You don’t want to order the formula, then no accompaniments for you!» I did bring it to the server’s attention but he said you get the accompaniments if you order the«Starters» or «Entrees» as the French call them. So we are back to the fact that we didn’t order the Formule. While we ate the papdum without accompaniments, one of the employees began to sweep around the tables, under, around, back, front — Do you really have to sweep near the ONLY customers in your restaurant while the rest of the restaurant is EMPTY!!! He swept and swept and even my looks in his direction did not deter him from continuing to sweep. ANDTHEN, when I thought he was done and I breathed a sign of relief(stirring up dirt does not do me good), he went to the back, got a mop and began to mop. Really? Sweeping and mopping now that you have customers? You couldn’t clean when the place was empty? Our food arrived by our non-smiling waiter who stood so straight I thought he was leaning against a wall. Chicken biryani, Chicken Vindaloo & bread. The Chicken vindaloo was lighter in color than I am used to but the taste was close enough to what vindaloo is supposed to taste like. Tasted a little too sweet and not enough of the tartness associated with vindaloos. But chicken? Little chicken with 3 large pieces of potato. Don’t get me wrong Vindaloos usually have a piece of potato in them but you can’t substitute the potato for the chicken. The bread was fresh and good. And finally– to the Biryani– it was nicely done. The chicken was somewhat ample. At no time did anyone come by to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. The service I would call perfunctory, minimalist, inattentive, if not unfriendly. When we asked for the bill, they presented us with a dessert/coffee menu which we declined. The server then commanded: «Choisy» in French… meaning choose. I told him we did not want dessert. Little did he know we had dessert waiting for us at home. The point is, if I say I don’t want dessert, I don’t want dessert. No need to insist. I know they wanted to increase the bill but why buy a dessert when I have dessert at home? Get it Mr. Server/owner? I will tell you that the dinner we had at this restaurant was clouded by the negative environment of the restaurant. BTW, the restaurant was nicely decorated with linen tablecloths & napkins-no discussion there. But what I am saying about this restaurant, as the French would Say: PASSYMPA. Will not eat there again.
