Extremely gorgeous food with numerous fusions of ingredients coupled with varied selection of wines to complement the dishes

I went with my husband to Les Tablette to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Overall the ambiance was nice. Minimal and contemporary. After being seated, we waited for several minutes to receive our menus and to be addressed. This was problematic for me, but was patient. The cuisine was good. We chose a «set menu» that consisted of seven courses which included 2 appetizers, soup, truffle macaroni, fish, veal and 2 desserts. Of course there wasn’t a lot of food but it was pleasing to the palate. We had a good time, despite the super loud group from Macau at the table next to us. It was even better after the hostess gave us free champagne to apologize for the noise. We we go back again… eh maybe. But with so many places on the list, probably not

The food from top to bottom was fanstastic. The macaroni dish was a true star, and the melting chocolate sphere for desert was impressive. We had to wait quite a while for our table, but they gave us free(high quality) champagne while we waited and then let us do a switch on the chef menu to the lobster dish without up charging us. Of course it is expensive.

Nothing was wrong with this meal, per se, but my expectations based on the price(it’s high… very) and that darn Michelin star which basically is like fairy pixie dust on a restaurant’s reputation(and again, expectations) Service was fine-attentive but in a «I am monitoring your current situation to see if you need attention at this time» way. But it was fine… just not the warmest. Food courses were each terrific, though some were just«good.» In a city with endless fine restaurant options, Les Tablettes needs to step it up. If you’re in a pinch for a special meal, or in the neighborhood, this is a good place. I imagine lunch is a better deal, too.

I was staying at the Sofitel Hotel and this Michelin Star restaurant came highly recommended. There were several dishes that I found unique and delicious, however the high point of the meal was unfortunately the starters. The tomato gelato and truffle mac-n-cheese were incredible, and I would come back for these dishes alone. I followed these starters up with a very disappointing sea bass, decorated with a ‘salsa’ of confusing flavors. Compared to other restaurants in the area, I would say the service here was quite average. I would have also enjoyed a more thorough explanation of the wine from the sommelier; when I asked what wine he would recommend with the sea bass he said, «do you like sweet or dry?» pointed to two, and picked one. That doesn’t really seem like a well thought pairing in my mind. Overall quite expensive for a very average experience.

Refined French food, great service, immaculate venue. yes, it is a bit expensive, but in line with the quality of the food.

Food was good, but as others have noted, it is very expensive. I suggest going with the prix fix menu options if you can. It’s still expensive but not nearly as bad of a sticker shock as if you ordered a la carte. Service was very attentive and fitting of such a an establishment. We came for lunch and were seated very quickly. They took our jackets and umbrellas(it rained that day) and were very informative and helpful. The food was good but very pricey. The roast quail and the veal were the two dishes that really stood out to us. The veal was shredded, almost like pulled pork and was mounded in a perfect circle, mixed with a velvety and decadent braising sauce. The quail was roasted to perfection, crisp skin and succulent meat. Everything else was fine, just not really worth the money we paid for it. I can’t remember exactly what else we ordered other than the sea bass and bouillabaisse which were okay. We also had the grand marnier soufflé which came out pipping hot and with a dollop of ice cream. Very good. We liked this place until the bill arrived. That large sum at the bottom was enough to dampen our experience. I’d skip unless someone else was paying.

On dinner… If we’re rating it just on food, maybe 4 stars, but you have to consider price when it is as high as it is and then it is just okay overall. The food is very good but you can do much much better in Paris for less or the same…

A word of warning… it is very expensive. If you aren’t prepared, it can be a shock. I took some business collegues and wives here on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. The décor matches the food, modern French. A woven ceiling with white and orange accents. A lot of room between tables and hard surfaces. Not a cozy place by any stretch. To begin, I had the Macaroni with Black Truffles. It was one of the better things I’ve eaten in my life(and it better be for the price). It had the perfect blend of presentation, crunch, and flavor. We paired this round with a recommended Burgundy picked by the sommelier, The mark up on the bottle was pretty heavy but it was a good recommendation. Off to a good start. I followed this up with the veal cheek. It was nice. Good flavor but not as knock your socks off awesome as the Macaroni. We paired it with a 2000 Bordeaux that was divine(but it better be for the mark up). Things were humming along until the dessert. One of my guests ordered the soufflé but received the pistachio tart instead. I know, first world problem. I am sure the tart was delicious and I wouldn’t even ding them for this under normal circumstances since they immediately offered to make him the dessert that he ordered. The issue was that he ordered the soufflé and it takes a bit of time to cook and it was getting late. So, as we are sitting there waiting for his soufflé, we are the last ones there, and they turn off the AC in the restaurant. We all felt like they were telling us to get the heck out after I had just bought the most expensive meal I have ever bought in my life. BTW, the soufflé was delicious but that is not the point. To be honest, it’s Paris. They can cook great food that doesn’t come with Michelin stars and costs a quarter of what La Tablette cost. The food is 5 star but I am taking them down for value and taking them down again for turning off the AC when people are in the restaurant.

I came here for lunch on a rainy afternoon in May 2013. Mostly professionals on business lunches. The bear felt uncomfortable but confirmed that the meat was good.
