Barely gets to four stars, because of limited vegetarian selection compared to other restaurants. However, the food is really really good here, and it doesn’t come quickly, but it’s worth a patient wait. It’s Indian with a French twist. This is difficult to describe, but has to do with the curry sauces and how they’re prepared. Has classical service, and a reasonable selection, just not as many veggie choices. I’d go there again.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had outside of my family’s own cooking. We had the chicken curry and the cashew/almond lamb and it was devoured within minutes. Both meats were tender and served warm with comforting curry that quelled the entire body with one bite. Our server was from Nepal, and he commiserated with us over some dishes and our experience in the UK. He was very kind and considerate — cautioning us against pick-pockets on the metro at the time that we were departing.

C’etait un peu long.

Strolling along the Avenue de Clichy between all the tourist bars and sex shops, we found this little restaurant. Yeah, Indian. There was no outdoor seating, but we were right by the window. The waiter was a cute little Frenchman with a pretty smile. He spoke English despite my being able to converse slowly in French. We ordered our mostly our usual, lamb vindaloo, onion nan, raita, pickles, rice. Rather than matar paneer, we got the mixed veggies which sounded like aloo gobi plus peas. Before we had the bengan pakoras. These were tasty but did not come with any dip. We asked for some and got the condiment tray with a mint sauce which was flavorful but not spicy as is usual, sweet chutney, and pickles. The vindaloo was just fine. I ordered it extra spicy which it was not, but it was sufficiently hot for me. The veggies were flavorful. We were happy overall and had a great time. I would come back!
