So the story goes this guy wanted to impress the ladies so he got really good at making candy coated nuts. Guess it worked. Super crunchy pralines here with a variety of flavors. Very nice of them to have samples out so that we can try the different types of candies that they made. At the end, we bought the original flavor to take home as gifts.

It is great pleasure to find little gems while strolling around Paris. The beautifully arranged pralines in the yellow-faced storefront window lured us in to this little store. A family tradition, this store has been operating in Montargis since 1903 before moving around and settling in its current location. Along with pralines and chocolates, which are made fresh daily, the confiserie’s specialties include Amandas and Mirabos(chocolate covered nougatine), Kaloudjas(grilled almonds coated with gianduja, or hazelnut paste), Givrettes and Grêlons(caramelized roasted almonds and hazelnuts), and 18 different chocolate bars, including flavors such as orange-clove, bitter sesame, salted caramel and, of course, the famous praline. I have to say, we did not buy any pralines or chocolates here. So, why am I writing a review? You see, at the back of store is a four top. It goes unnoticed unless you focus on it. There is a chocolate fondue menu, which is based on the different types of chocolate sold here. The four of us decided to take the table and order different kinds of fondue. What followed was a a lot of «ooooh» and«aaaahhh» from all four of us. A shot glass of the chocolate you choose from the menu is served with biscotti, an assortment of French cookies, and fruit, followed by your choice of coffee or espresso. See attached picture for the fondue serving. I am fairly positive the pralines are excellent. However, the chocolate fondue serving is something you don’t want to miss if you are in the area.
