Testé uniquement à emporter, je confirme que ce vietnamien a du succès: du monde sur le trottoir qui attend pour tenter d’avoir une place, dans ce petit et cosy restaurant de la rue de Charonne, même un soir de semaine.
La cuisine en elle-​même est satisfaisante: raviolis à la vapeur au porc (uniquement le vendredi) pas mal du tout, nems, salades et rouleaux de printemps très bons. Un peu cher tout de même.
Je m’armerai donc un jour de patience pour manger sur place et tester ces fameux bo buns qui font la renommée du restaurant !

Ce restau est top pour 2 raisons: c’est bon, de qualité et pas cher du tout!
Bön niveau staff ils né sont pas commerciaux pour un sous, mais c’est pas grave je préfère la qualité de la nourriture plutôt qu’un sourire!
Prenez à emporter ou venez tôt, la file d’attente dans la rue est toujours impressionnante!

Paris Hanoi is usually amazing. I dine here weekly, sometimes I come even twice a week. Ive dined and done take out. Even when they are busy, they are fast but service is really a mixed bag. I’ve taken a ton of my friends here and they are hooked too!
Let’s start with their food: I’ve tried their ice coffee (just black coffee with tons of sugar, definitely not Vietnamese style with condensed milk so not worth it), phở (awful, REALLY, don’t get it), beignet appetizers (basically fried shrimp, not amazing), and their winner: the BO BUN NEM!
The bo bun NEM is beyond amazing. Like where do I even begin? For 11.5 €, you get perfectly cooked noodles, fresh vegetables, thinly cut steak pieces usually cooked to perfection, sauce, and two fried egg rolls. Their egg rolls are amazing. So good that I would be okay with myself ordering more.
But this dish isn’t consistent. Sometimes I get meat that’s partly pink (awful). Sometimes I get little sauce. Sometimes I get barely any veggies. But usually it’s good and it comes piping hot! I’ve ordered this dish as a take out and it works. You just have to eat it fast or else it gets a little swollen if that makes sense.
The reason they aren’t five stars is the service. Sometimes the food comes out cold, I have to wait forever for the menu or to be acknowledged, the server is just plain mean. One time my friend put in an order and tried to change it because she can’t eat beef and the guy refused. They could have easily changed it but no. She had to pick out all the beef and it was the saddest thing ever.
You pay at the cash register and sometimes they just throw the check at you. This place is strange but the food is good.
If you come early, there is no wait. They also have sriracha which is RARE in Paris.

J’ai juste pris à emporter dans ce resto à ma pause midi. Bön, déjà je pense que le service à emporter est clairement en trop vu l’étroitesse des lieux. La file des gens qui commandent à emporter gêné totalement le service.
Ensuite le paiement est difficile: pas du tout de carte bancaire, paiement par chèque sous conditions.
Concernant l’attente, c’est correct. Et concernant la nourriture, j’ai beaucoup aimé les nems mais le poulet à la citronnelle était un peu sec et écoeurant vu la quantité astronomique (ça m’a fait deux repas).
C’est un peu cher par rapport aux vietnamiens où j’ai l’habitude de manger. J’aurais préféré payer moins et avoir une quantité un peu plus petite (et pourtant je suis une grande mangeuse).
Bref, ça né m’a laissé un souvenir transcendant !

Je déconseille fortement le Paris Hanoi. Nous nous sommes faits virés vendredi 13 novembre peu après 22h sans aucune information ni consigne de sécurité alors qu’on venait d’entendre le bruit assourdissant de la fusillade à cent mètres de là et qu’il était impossible de rentrer chez nous. Un tel comportement est indigne d’un établissement public.

Cantine professionnelle au début, nous avons continuer à nous voir sans jamais nous lasser.
Malgré une quasi-​permanente file d’attente (qui passé relativement vite), le bo bun nem reste indétronable !

Pour les connaisseurs, le Bobun nem n’est pas extra. Le bœuf trop épais, manqué de goût. Le nc mm qui est la base est trop salé, manqué une petite touché d’acidité.

Vous voulez manger un excellent bobun à un prix dérisoire? Né cherchez plus vous êtes au bon endroit! Le meilleur à mon avis, celui avec les nems! hésitant entre plusieurs plats j’ai aussi testé la soupe au poulet, un régal!La biére vietnamienne accompagne tout ceci à merveille!
Un conseil, venez à l’avance, sinon vous devrez patienter devant le restaurant la salle etant petite, mais ceci dit,ça vaut le coup d’attendre!

La quête du bobun parfait concerne bon nombre d’entre nous je pense…
Je n’avais jamais encore testé cette institution de la rue de Charonne. Pour le premier bobun d’Estelle.C, on se met d’accord: ce sera le Paris Hanoï.
On arrive peu après l’ouverture donc nous n’avons eu aucun mal à trouver une place. Sachez qu’on est tous un peu collés car il n’y a pas beaucoup de place, mais ça apporte un côté plutôt chaleureux.
La carte est conséquente mais né fait pas non plus 18 pages. On commande et les plats arrivent assez vite. Je choisis une bière chinoise (ils ont une sélection de bières asiatiques à 4 euros la bouteille). C’est beau et ça sent bon. Pas de doutes, c’est bon ! Mais le bobun gagnerait à être plus assaisonné, en sauce notamment mais surtout en herbes. On peine à trouver de la coriandre et de la menthe et même les cacahuètes se font rares, c’est dommage…
Verdict bobunesque: Appétissant mais rien de très excitant…
L’endroit est assez sympa, les murs sont boisés. On né retrouve donc pas le côté cantine-​éclairage-​néon, mais je pense qu’à l’avenir j’opterai plus pour des plats à emporter. Leurs nouilles sautées m’ont fait de l’oeil ! En gros, j’y retournerai probablement pour tester les autres plats mais pas pour assouvir une de mes fréquentes folles envies de Bobun !

Premier bobun de ma vie, du coup je choisis une valeur sûre.
On est arrivé à 19:15 un jeudi, du coup pas de problème de queue, par contre quand on approche de 20h ça se gâte (à bon entendeur).
Service efficace, mais sans plus. Né vous attendez pas à un sourire ou à une attention particulière. Par contre, à ma surprise vu la queue dehors, on né nous a pas chassé à la fin du repas.
Et niveau bobun donc (aux boulettes de viande pour moi). J’ai été un peu déçue, je m’attendais à plus de saveur. J’ai trouvé le plat un peu sec. Est-​ce qu’il doit y avoir de la sauce? En tout cas dans le bobun aux crevettes de ma compagne de table il y en avait… Les boulettes étaient bonnes par contre.
On a aussi tenté le flan coco. Rien de particulier.
Bref, c’était bon, sans plus. Je né ferais certainement pas la queue pour ça. Je suis sûre qu’il doit y avoir des petites pépites vietnamiennes à découvrir ailleurs à Paris.

Très bon vietnam. Les tables sont assez serrés, on sent vite les odeurs de cuisine sur soi, mais au final on mange très bien, c’est savoureux, et pas trop cher. Attention pas de CB.

Short review but not much to say! Good selection of dishes and very large portions but food lacks spice and flavour (I guess it’s been adapted to French tastes).
Main meals will set you back around 10 euros on average.
If you’re in the area and really hungry, go for it! But don’t expect the best Vietnamese of your life.

Ce restaurant, dont les odeurs des plats thaï chatouillent les narines plus on s’en approche dans la rue, propose des plats à prix modique (10 – 12 €), très bons! Ce n’est pas un restaurant gastronomique mais c’est tout à fait honorable, frais, il y a du choix sur la carte, et surtout ça cale bien!
Le poulet au gingembre ou le boeuf au saté par exemple sont délicieux, servis avec du riz, des légumes et quelques branches de coriandre, et l’assiette n’est pas si facile à finir… Le service est rapide, pas besoin d’attendre des heures pour avoir son plat. Le restaurant n’est pas très grand et il y a souvent du monde, alors il vous faudra peut-​être attendre 5 – 10 minutes avant que l’on né vienne vous placer, mais ça vaut le coup!

Each time we walked by Paris Hanoi, the long waiting line caught our attention. This is obviously a very popular place. So, last week my boyfriend suggested to have dinner here! We didn’t have to wait very long and got seated at a table right next to another couple. Don’t go here if you want a romantic tête-​à-​tête ;) The place is busy and crowded, but actually that’s part of the charm. You come here for the food, and the food is good! The noodles and the chicken curry we ordered were not mind-​blowing, but still very tasty and satisfying. The portions are large (you can take the leftovers home if you want) and the prices are very democratic, so that’s a great combination! The service was quick and efficient. We will come here again :)

Tout petit restaurant aux bonnes odeurs de graillon vietnamien! Malgrès les odeurs né vous en fait pas les plats sont bien cuisinés en particulier les bo bun sans oublier les entrées (nems, beignet crevette…)

2 choses importantes à savoir avant d’aller au Paris Hanoi :
1. Pas de réservation possible et adresse reconnue, ce qui signifie que si vous voulez être sûr d’avoir une table, il faut venir à l’ouverture à 19h, surtout le WE (et si vous êtes nombreux). Si vous arrivez né serait-​ce que 20 à 30 minutes plus tard, vous ferez la queue dehors, avec sûrement plusieurs autres personnes puisque l’endroit a du succès. ;) (Heureusement le service est plutôt rapide.)
Et 2. Ils né prennent pas la CB. Prévoyez donc d’avoir du liquide et/​ou vos tickets resto.
Une fois ces étapes passées, vous pourrez alors découvrir un tout petit resto où les tables sont serrées mais où on mange bien et copieusement pour un prix très correct et dans une ambiance typique. :)
J’ai personnellement goûté leurs nems en entrée et un bon Bùn Chà et j’ai été très satisfaite de l’expérience. Je n’ai pas pu finir mon plat tellement il était généreux mais je n’ai pas regretté pr autant d’avoir pris ces nems en entrée car ils étaient vraiment bons eux-​aussi.
Une bonne adresse à connaître, c’est certain ! Je pense que j’y retournerai bientôt y prendre d’autres plats à emporter d’ailleurs. ;)

Went there during a business trip cos the owners are authors of one of my favourite cooking books. At 11:45 am there was already a small queue and 30 minutes after opening 12:00am for lunchtime) the place was fully occupied. I loved the phô which I had being prepared with blanched beef fillet which was really tender. Nice broth, lotta fresh herbs and on my special request 2 more fresh chilies :) I’ve to say I loved the atmosphere of this small n packed place with the open kitchen. Seemed to me a bit more like Asian street kitchen than the nice n stylish small places of my hometown Berlin (don’t get me wrong– I love this style too). Will for sure drop by again especially since the whole neighbourhood must be cool at nights

Excellente adresse ! Je classe le bo bun dans le Top 3 des bo bun de Paris ;) On y mange pour une dizaine d’euros, beaucoup de gout, bien servis, le cadre fait cantine mais pour le prix c’est normal.
Pour le bo bun, la viande est vraiment bonne, en quantité, beaucoup de saveur par contre la cuisson de la viande n’est pas toujours maîtrisé ! Il m’est arrivé d’avoir un bo bun avec un bœuf comme une semelle et la fois d’après un bœuf tendre comme jamais…
Certain plat sont mieux préparé que d’autres selon qui tiens la poignet du wok ;) donc je retire une étoile a cause de se manqué de constance dans la préparation des plats.
Faire gaffe aux heures de pointes (surtout si vous venez nombreux) si vous voulez pas faire la queue ;)

Ce restaurant n’est pas si mal, mais il n’a vraiment RIEN d’extraordinaire.
Mais voilà c’est le truc bobo à la mode, avec un décors un peu tamisé mais bon-​enfant tendance kitsch quand même, et il y a toujours la queue devant. J’avoue que ça fait assez pitié dans un tel quartier, là où les bonnes adresses né manquent pas, à commencer par juste en face, à 2 mètres.
Pourquoi alors attendre 20 minutes dehors, à 50 centimètres des voitures qui passent sur le boulevard, pour venir manger à la cantoche, là où tout le monde va et où c’est bruyant ?
Chacun son trip …

Restau toujours plein à craquer… il faut être patient et faire sagement la queue car la salle est très petite (ça vaut le coup). Plats de bonne qualité servis en bonne quantité. Service rapide.

La réputation du Paris Hanoï n’est plus à faire ! J’ai voulu me faire ma propre opinion du lieu et … Je né suis pas déçue ! L’accueil est chaleureux, le service agréable et les plats bons, rapidement servis, en quantités et à petit prix (environ 10 €/​plat) ! Je recommande particulièrement le Bo Bun, avec ou sans nems c’est un délice !
Petit bémol sur le temps d’attente avant d’entrer dans le restaurant, mais ça valait le coup.

Je continue dans ma série de cantine. Cette fois ci c’est une cantine vietnamienne.
Paris Hanoi c’est :
– Toujours bondé
– Toujours un peu petit
– Toujours aussi peu cher. Super rapport qualité/​prix
– Toujours ABSOLUMENT DELICIEUX
Les plats sont tellement bons qu’on en oublierait presque l’extrême promiscuité dans ce resto. Évitez ce resto si vous vous faire un restau en amoureux !
On est installé à coté d’autres tablées, et c’est comme une roulette russe. Soit on se met une balle car les voisins d’à coté sont horrible soit jackpot vous etes en charmante compagnie.
J’aime le concept des entrées du menu. On commande des beignets de crevettes ou nem ou rouleaux de printemps à la pièce moyennant 0,50 € a 1 € 50 pièce. Ça permet d’adapter le budget à sa faim :-)
J’y vais depuis des années et je suis rarement déçu !

Rien a re dire sur la qualité du bo bun toujours aussi bon, j’ai en plus entre temps eu l’occasion de goûter d’autres plats comme le porc au caramel, un peu gras mais après tout c’est du porc… et le poulet au caramel, vraiment délicieux, et très bien servie en plus de ca, le jus de coco bien sucré comme je l’aime.
En fait, le seul problème que je rencontre au paris hanoi jusque la c’est la difficulté quand il faut choisir ce que je vais prendre…
Un bémol tout de même sur la climatisation du restaurant: inéxistante, il y fait donc une chaleur folle en été.
Le grand plus, c’est qu’après moultes investigation, il semblerait bien que oui, tout leurs plats sont sans gluten et sans caséine. Que se soit les bo bun réalisé avec des vermicelles de riz, les nems fait maison avec de la pâte de riz (attention il n’y a que des nems au porc par contre, pas d’autres sortes disponibles), ou les autres plats qui viennes accompagnés de riz et de légumes, le tout étant en plus cuit avec de l’huile et non du beurre, tout est adapté aux régimes sans gluten et sans caséine ! Je né pouvais donc que ré exprimer une seconde fois mon amour pour ce restaurant.

Love the beignet de crevette as starters and beef bo bun as main dish. Apart from that the poulet a la citronelle is also great. Highly recommended.
There is usually a long queue outside the restaurant but it is worth the wait. It is a good place for small groups (2 – 4). Otherwise you can walk in to order for takeaway too, it’s quick.

Good Vietnamese food in Paris!
Love this place, the food was good, but the space was so tight and stuffed. When you step out of this restaurant you smell like you just stepped out from some Vietnamese Kitchen.
Their service was good, your order comes up in less minutes than any other restaurant. The down side for me, is the waiting and not having the space for their customers to wait. Any thing can happen by standing outside by the door, it is literally 2 feet from the major road.

Ça fait plusieurs fois que j’y vais, que je prends un bo bun nem, et j’ai toujours été satisfaite ! En plus le plat est énorme, parfait pour les grosses faims, et franchement pas trop cher (une dizaine d’euros).
L’ambiance de la petite salle est conviviale, le service est bon. Par contre attendez-​vous à attendre de longues minutes dehors avant d’avoir une table…

Bön alors autant être claire dès le début, quand on dit qu’il y a de l’attente… il y a de l’attente ! En fait il doit y avoir une trentaines de places dans le restaurant, donc soit on arrive à 19h au premier service, soit on attend 1h — 1h30. Nous sommes arrivées à 19h45, il y avait juste 6 personnes devant nous et nous avons du attendre 20h30 (dehors !) pour pouvoir avoir une table. Mais vu qu’il né faisait pas trop froid et qu’on avait prévu d’attendre, ça allait ! De plus les odeurs alléchantes sortant nous dissuadent d’aller voir ailleurs !
Une fois rentrée c’est plutôt chouette, un peu sombre mais charmant.
Les prix sont corrects (nems et beignets vendus à l’unité ce qui est très appréciable). Les plats étaient très bons, peut être pas les meilleurs de Paris mais franchement pas de déception. De plus mon bo bun aux crevettes était très copieux et pas radin sur les crevettes, ce qui est pourtant souvent le cas !
Bref à tester, après le temps d’attente fait qu’on y retournera sans doute pas plusieurs fois !

Vielleicht sollte man als Tourist in Paris nicht unbedingt zu einem Vietnamesen essen gehen. Wenn man es jedoch bei diesen macht, dann wird man es nicht bereuen. Allerdings muss man schon etwas Zeit mitbringen, wenn man am Abend kommt. Die Schlange vor dem Lokal spricht bereits für seine Qualität.

Based on others reviews, we got there as it opened. The place is small but, boy, it is hopping and moves fast! We ordered both the beignets and the spring roll. Both were good but the beignets were fabulous. Ordered the beef sate and the chicken sate. Both were generous portions, flavorful and nicely-​done. We even did the unthinkable and asked for a to-​go box – very unPariseinne!

Some of the best food I have ever, ever put in my mouth, and I am picky with Vietnamese food as I live in Los Angeles, which has an excellent selection of that cuisine.
I got the Bo Bun (beef with vermicelli, peanuts, bean sprouts, Thai basil, lettuce), a fried egg roll, and a Spring roll. Everything was amazing. The beef was some of the most flavorful and tender I have ever eaten, and the fried egg roll was as good as Golden Deli’s in the SGV, which is the best I’ve ever had – tender, packed with taste, perfectly crispy. (Insider tip: did you know that egg rolls come with lettuce because you are supposed to wrap it around the roll?)
Like others have said, I had to wait in line when I got there – about 40 minutes on a Tuesday at 8pm. I was exhausted and really hungry. It was worth every second. Plus, the food is served quickly – we got our rolls with 5 minutes and our main dishes within 15, even though the place was packed and people were getting takeout.
Bonus: our server spoke great English and was really nice.

We waited and waited and waited and it wasnt that bad. You get to look into the resto while you wait and the passerbys are of interest.
Once in its like being in Hanoi in the winter back in the early 90’s when restos were far and few between and you would really be huddling around the front of a family’s home. The kitchen is tiny and those coming in to pick up food to go are plenty.
The staff is super efficient and you are barely made aware of all that has to take place to keep this place humming.
The portions are generous and the beef and pork over rice noodle dishes look yummy.
We had spring rolls and Phở. It was fine. In truth though, its not super special. I think when you have spent time in Vietnam, live in SF where you have slanted door at the high end and Polk street vendors at all price levels you get spoiled. I guess the deal is that its new and cool for Parisians and Id say that if I lived there, id go back however next trip to Paris will not include another go.

Ok, not going to lie — be prepared to wait a bit for the BEST VIETNAMESE EVER !
True, that may be an exaggeration. However, it’s very *very* good noms and even my friends who hate waiting in line get excited to go back. Once you are seated, it isn’t more than 10 minutes to start eating so really the time you would normally spend chatting with your friends before the meal is spent outside instead of at the table.
If you can’t get over the idea of waiting then just get takeout ! Show up, walk inside, make your order and BOOM. In 5 min you have poulet a la citronelle sur legumes et riz to go !

it was sooooo good last year and it went bad recently. they are very understaffed and overcrowded. new chefs and changes in the menu. restore old glory and you’ll get 5* ;) didnt checked recently other paris hanoi. will do soon. maybe still good not like this one.

Although the Unilocal information indicates its open from 10:30AM until 10PM, Paris Hanoi closes like many Paris restaurants at 2:30 in the afternoon for a 4 hour break. Then they start up again for the evening crowd. I found this out the hard way by making the trek from the 1st to the 11th, arriving at 2:30 only to be turned away.
It all worked out for the best however because by 8PM, five of us had joined the crowd standing outside Paris Hanoi waiting for a table. The wait in line was about 45 minutes and worth every bit of it. I had shrimp stir-​fry and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The meal comes in a large bowl with the rice already added. And importantly — its not over salted!
At the table we had curry, noodles, imperial rolls (crispy rolls aka nems (Fr.)), etc. — nothing was left.
The line stayed in place outside until after 10. We were lucky enough to be seated directly in front of the open kitchen. I really like the open kitchen — nothing to hide and all good.
Service was fine. This is a great Paris value meal.
Its walkable from Bastille but there are also buses that run until late. Taxi back to the 1st is only about 10Euro.
Oh yeah — no credit cards taken — bring cash money… Euros that is.

I’ve visited a few Vietnamese restaurants in Paris including Phở Banh Cuon 14, Le Bambou, and Foyer du Vietnam, but this is definitely my favourite so far. The food served is pretty typical of the Vietnamese food you would get in North Vietnam. The spring rolls @ E0.80 per piece were piping hot straight from the fryer, and the dipping sauce was as close to what would be prepared in my household, so two thumbs up there.
The phở noodle soup had the underlying aniseed flavour you would expect and two types of beef (tender beef shin marbled with fat), and the rare beef steak that was left to cook in the hot broth.
My b/f’s meat patties with vermicelli rice noodles were moist and the accompaniments of coriander, pickled carrot and turnip, mint, bean sprouts and chopped roasted peanuts made for a lovely light lunch.
Warm service and lovely people too. Would come again for my Vietnamese fix.

3.5 stars ce restaurant est plein de charme. a bit tricky to get to the first time. but so worth it for a bowl of phở, grilled pork w/​garlic rice and nems. the stir-​frys are also pretty yummy, the beef dishes (chewy) not so much. small, cottagey space with an open kitchen and a colorful mix of students and residents of the quartier. a definite cheap eats find.
