worked with them to rent an apartment in Paris… did not finalize booking due to inability to communicate with them. I believe there have been changes in their operation and things continue to go downhill. Often they are only middlemen in the rental process and no longer exclusively rep the apartments… cannot recommend them at all… much better agencies out there in the Paris market with more fair prices and customer services. PP has seen its better days.

We rented the Chambertin apartment for the last week of March and the first week of April. This was a good neighborhood, although they claim the walk to the metro was 7 – 10 min. and it was more like 15 – 20. Not a deal breaker, but that 20 min walk home in the cold rain after a long day of sightseeing was work. This apartment is not luxurious in any sense of the word. It is acceptable, much like your first apartment leaving home: IKEA furnished, small, cramped. The only seating was a sleeper love seat — not comfortable for reading, relaxing at all. The only other chairs were 4 quasi-formal dining chairs. The kitchen was OK — the basics — but the tap water left a filmy residue when we made hot tea. It was very off-putting. The toilet was in a tiny closet all by itself in the hallway. Not luxurious or even comfortable. It was tiny. The bed was a thin foam mattress facing a wall of clothes cabinets — if you tried to open one of the cabinet doors they only opened part way before they hit the bed and clearly two people could not get by each other in the cramped space. The linens were supposed to be fine, they were not. They were an odd texture mix of flannel and burlap. I do have to mention the elevator. We were on the 5th floor(does that make it the 6th in France?) and of course the stairs were narrow and windy. The elevator made sense, but it was a tight fit for 2 people. And it smelled awful. You know I could pile on here, the IPOD dock player was cheap and Van Morrison sounded terrible(tinny) on it. Other small inconveniences. My feeling about this apartment is kind of like most of the Red Sox acquisitions of late — they’re OK, nothing special, but definitely not worth the money.

I’ve rented from Paris Perfect three times. I like their properties. I have consistently found them to deliver excellent customer service. They think of many details and are responsive to problems. Last year we had a bad coffeemaker and they delivered a new one the same day. Highly recommended.

We have rented apartments from Paris Perfect for our last three trips. Most recently, we had an apartment right on the Champ de Mars(park area around the Eiffel Tower) for an entire month. I wanted to wake up every morning looking at the Eiffel Tower … and that’s exactly what I got! It was fun when I located Princess Caroline of Monaco’s apartment in a nearby building(hint — look for the royal insignia in wrought iron and loads of security cameras :-) The folks at Paris Perfect took very good care of me and provided great recommendations for restaurants, services and attractions.

It seems performance, professionalism, and product has suffered. For the third year in a row, we’ve rented from Paris Perfect and, unfortunately, there seems to be a downhill slide in these three«p’s». Most recently, we rented the Viogner apartment and, seriously: not a comfortable seat in the house(sofas made of cardboard and concrete — not one positioned to take advantage of the view of the Eiffel Tower and the view may be the one good thing about this apartment), wafts of cigarette smoke and chemicals(renovation related?) from other units, non-working phone and television, thundering renovation(day) and party(night) noise from neighboring apartments, combined with redecoration to within an inch of its life(read: no character left at all) and bad location(although advertised as the 7th, the apartment is within one sidewalk width of being in the 15th — much too far away to enjoy shopping in the 7th). In addition, the staff were far from welcoming — for instance, they insisted we provide our travel details on their website but were unavailable to take our calls when we arrived in Paris. So, use caution when booking with Paris Perfect — get specific details about the apartment location and amenities; request a confirmed time for check in to any apartment you may rent from them, ask specifically about scheduled renovations etc. Having to take all these extra steps minimizes the enjoyment of the trip but may also minimize disappointment once you arrive.

If you do rent from Paris Perfect beware of their business practices. I rented the Marsanne apartment for a family vacation, paid in advance and had to delay my trip due to the untimely death of my father. This company made a terrible situation even worse by not only refusing us a refund but also by not even offering to reschedule our stay. All this at a cost of $ 3,000. plus dollars. If you rent from them buy travel insurance. They are absolutely ruthless!
