Petit Pois

Great locals place nearby Le Sacre Coeur. Small place so it’s low key. Polka Dot themed café serving French and Spanish affair. Great place for brunch. Even though this is a local place they are very friendly to tourists (myself being an American English speaking one). Very child friendly, as there’s a children’s play area. Did not break our bank. I would eat here for breakfast everyday before exploring Paris.

So far, in the «where to go to let someone else’s child entertain mine while I sit in the corner drinking and count the minutes until bedtime» category, Petit Pois is hands-​down the winner. Now that I’ve been to most of the parent-​kid cafés in Paris, I’ve found that they are generally the same with the exception of how many toys they have, the number and availability of things for children to destroy (other than toys), danger factor for children, and if they have alcohol. The primary reasons this place gets my top score is because they don’t have a toy store in the café (it’s next door), there are lots of things to keep the kids occupied, there’s nothing particularly dangerous for my child to do should I take my eyes off of her for a moment (or 10), and I can have a glass of wine. I also really liked the décor and how they keep things cute, but not over-​the-​top froofy. Just the right mix of kid and adult. They serve brunch on the weekends, have a daily lunch menu (only 11 € for adults, 8 € for kids), and have a variety of home-​baked desserts for afternoon snacks. Thumbs up!

Un brunch qui traîné en longueur pour pas grand chose !
Nous avons testé le brunch un Dimanche midi. Ce petit restaurant propose trois formules avec une base commune constituée d’un jus d’orange pressée, d’une boisson chaude (dont un chocolat chaud espagnol), d’une tranche de cake sucré (que nous n’avons malheureusement pas eu!) et d’un fromage blanc /​yahourt puis au choix, une tarte salée, une assiette de charcuterie/​fromage ou une tartine salée. Les avantages: une salle agréable où les enfants peuvent s’amuser, un service souriant et une cuisine faite maison. Le service est malheureusement très lent (plus d’une bonne heure d’attente), pour une cuisine nécessitant assez peu de préparation. La gestion du lieu, bien qu’agréable et bien attentionnée, n’est manifestement pas professionnelle. Le prix est très attractif, mais le brunch est quand même un peu léger. En plus, deux heures pour boire un café, un fromage blanc et une part de quiche, c’est un peu excessif ! Une meilleure organisation et un peu plus d’efficacité feraient de ce lieu une très bonne adresse, dommage !

J’ai découvert cet endroit, et quelle né fut pas ma surprise ! Rien que la vitrine donne envie… Une fois rentrée dans cette tarterie, on se laisse guider par l’ambiance cosy de l’endroit. Un repas à tomber à la renverse: tout est fait maison, c’est impressionnant ! La décoration et les patronnes sont chaleureuses. Je recherchais un lieu comme celui-​ci depuis bien longtemps: c’est authentique ! Vite, il faut y courir ! Julie
