Check it! I arrived in Paris three nights ago, and it is freaking hotter than a monkey’s uncle. On my first full day here, I went to the Leroy Marlin(the store that would result if a huge Bed Bath & Beyond had a baby with a massive Home Depot) to purchase an oscillating fan because I wasn’t about to spend a month in zero air conditioning and zero circulated air. That’s just cruel, right? So I bought a pretty nice room fan at Leroy Marlin for a price I was okay paying(59 Euro). I also think that, based on the way the thing is packaged, I can disassemble it in the end and put it into my extra suitcase to take home. So… not a terrible investment. BUT…on my third full day in Paris, I came across this little discount store. Yes, this one, Promotion 7! They had an oscillating fan for less than half the cost(~26 Euros). They also had a few others in different price ranges and styles. So if you’re ever in need, find a Promotion 7 and buy your fan from them. I’m not all riled up about the fan, though. Sure, I wish I’d been able to buy the less expensive one and instead maybe just leave it with the apartment owner from whom I’m renting my place. That’s okay, though… it’s in the past. This store nevertheless made me a fan(haha – a fan? I didn’t even see that coming…) because it has some really great discount household wares. In addition to small appliances, they had some really great barware and fun, really affordable little kitchen doodads. I picked up this really awesome and adorably colorful mini-lazy Susan for under 8 Euros. And they had these super cute glass cheese platters for under 5 Euros. Anyway, this place? Recommended! Recommended in case you ever need a travel mug, new flatware, a blender, rice cooker, cheese plate, or… a fan. ;)
