Didn’t eat here, but you get a free refill on your morning café allonge’. At the tri-​junction of rues Ulm, Claude St. Bernard and Gay-​Lussac, sip it and look out the window and think, «Right here, this is where things got really interesting on the Night of the Barricades, May 9 – 10, 1968.»

Ran in here Friday for a quick Nicoise salad after heading to Les Papilles and find that I had caught them in between lunch and dinner. My bad.
There’s no reason to come to Pub Gay Lussac given the Latin Quarter is only a few blocks away… not sure what I was thinking. Somewhat overpriced for average food.

troquet parisien classique, simple mais agréable; le patron est sympa, la bière pas trop chère, et la clientèle compte bcp d’étudiants (notamment des Arts Déco, tt proche); petite terrasse conviviale l’été, malgré la circulation ds la rue.
