If you can read a map, you can clearly see that this hotel is in a great central location. It is walking distance to Paris’ big three attractions(Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre) and many more and a not-so short walk or quick metro ride to Notre Dame. In addition, it’s just half a block from the Seine and two blocks from the Champs-Élysées. Unfortunately, the hotel seemed to be in need of some refreshing and, although it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the four stars on the sign out front was flickering. For example, there was chipping paint on the locked closets in the front room, the hallways were dim, the elevators were both slow and they were controlled separately. Otherwise, there were a few slightly awkward things I noticed, including the strangeness of having locked closets in a hotel suite, the entryway light for our room(206) was blocked by ceiling tiles and ultimately useless, the television was in between the living and sleeping areas such that it couldn’t be watched comfortably from the sofa(fortunately, I don’t watch TV), and there was a balcony off the bathroom(in room 205) with a thin sheer over the window. The room that our teens were in(205) was the better arrangement of the two and had a kitchenette(although both rooms cost the same). One nice feature of our room(206) was that it had windows on two sides and had it not been December, we could have opened the windows and maybe gotten a cross-current. Lastly, regarding the breakfast, at a four-star hotel, I have come to expect a wider selection and cook-to-order options. Instead, there was an array of your standard cold options(e.g., cereal, breads, cheeses, salamis, fruit) and some warmed over eggs and sausage. I regret that I can only give it three stars, but according to Unilocal that means it’s «A-OK» and that’s how I feel. The hotel wasn’t bad at all. Despite the weird layout, I even liked the two rooms we had. It was clean, the staff was nice and helpful, and you just can’t beat the location. Would I stay here again? I wouldn’t mind, but I’d look for a special rate.

Great location, staff and over all service. I can only say good things about Residence du Roy. I highly recommend this hotel.

Esi st alles sehr stressfrei.
