Starbucks

This is the absolute worst Starbucks I have ever seen!
This Starbucks was opened later than most, so I came here several times to study. However, I I have to warn that just about everything that could go wrong at a Starbucks went wrong!
Service: extremely rude. The staff is more interested in teasing each other and gossiping amongst themselves than working. Instead of a «hello» or «how may I help you,» they will acknowledge your presence by huffing and puffing, rolling their eyes, or simply staring without saying a word. When they finally get your order, it will take an unduly long amount of time to make the drink (like 7 minutes for a small orange juice with no one ahead). There will be spills of milk and sugar all over the counter, and the napkin or cream dispensers will be empty.
Cleanliness: atrocious. See my photo for evidence. But believe me, it was not an isolated experience. The upstairs in particular is disgusting. The trash cans overflow, to the point where patrons have no choice but to leave their trash on the tables and the floor. Who wants to sit around in that kind of environment! The bathroom is filthy as well.
This Starbucks is sad. Just say away.

Un bon plan pour une pause et déguster un bon cheesecake aux framboises ou une savoureuse tarte aux pommes délicieusement relevée d’une pointe de cannelle! Prix modiques mais pour trouver une place, c’est la croix et la bannière! C’est souvent plein, preuve que l’endroit a du succès!

Pros: Good staff, free wifi, cool seating area upstairs and outdoor seating, in front of the Odeon Metro.
Cons: Just «one’ dirty toilet, very busy, not nice atmosphere because this coffee shop is quite narrow and I’m in general not a big fan of big coffee chains. Very expensive coffee!
Anyway, if you like Starbucks then choose another one.

This is actually a pretty good find. It’s:
+ On Boulevard St. Germain exactly outside of the Odeon Metro
+ Big with seating outside on the terrace, inside downstairs and inside upstairs
+ Got counters, communal tables, small tables and several over-​stuffed chairs
+ Got free wifi… well I say free, but you are required to give a bunch of personal information — like your mobile number. *See below
+ A great location to get a couple of hours of computer work done
*I have little, and less and less trust of anything that collects personal information. Yes I understand the irony of saying this on Unilocal where my every move is tracked through my computer IP address and I gladly provide a mass of personal information. Still, it’s starting to bother me a lot that everyone is asking for my mobile number — like Starbucks in Paris. Here is their explanation at the sign-​in page:
«In accordance with the anti-​terrorist legislation that came into effect on 23/​01/​2006, we are obliged to record the identities of all users. The data collected in this form will be shared with the National Commission on Data Processing and Liberties and will not be used for commercial purposes or sold to third parties without your prior consent. If you re-​connect using the same computer or PDA, then you will only have to complete this form once a year.»
Next time I’m at this Starbucks using their free (sort of) wifi, I’m going to watch watch Fahrenheit 451 online. Or maybe I’ll Google TrueCrypt and theorize about what really happened to this amazing shareware.

If you’re missing a taste of the U.S., this Starbucks is exactly what you’ve come to expect.

Good staff. Very busy

Tres Bonne — like you’d expect from every Starbucks; not revolutionary but friendly folks and standard coffee.

How many things can a Starbucks not have? This one had no milk, no cup sleeves, no soap in the restrooms, etc. Had a chai latte that tasted as if they also had no chai.

Un café trop étriqué
Il n’y a pas de service dans les cafés Starbucks (la commande se passé au comptoir) et les produits étant standardisés, la qualité du café est la même d’un Starbucks à l’autre. Côté ambiance et déco, je trouve que l’on est un peu trop serré. Je né sais pas si j’avais mal choisi mon jour mais à chaque fois, je m’y suis senti oppressé par manqué d’espace. Bof bof !

Sympa et au chaud.
Après un dîner dans le quartier, il fait bon de s’arrêter dans le cadre sympa du lieu pour y déguster un chocolat (je né bois pas de café). Ils en servent de toutes les sortes. Mon préféré est celui au caramel ! Et quand il est savouré au chaud sur les fauteuils, ça vous donne un sentiment de bien-​être immense… L’unique petit hic est le prix… mais c’est si bon. A essayer !

Service lent mais café très bons !
En attendant une séance de cinéma, on voulait boire un café. Le choix de la boisson est un calvaire tellement il y en a et c’est délicieux. Le seul problème, c’est que l’on a attendu le café debout (pas de service à table) très longtemps alors qu’il n’y avait pas vraiment de monde… De plus, les tarifs restent très chers malgré le concept de commerce équitable.

Depuis plusieurs années, Starbucks fait le forcing pour s’installer sur Paris. Ils ont enfin réussi. Si vous aimez le café américain (½ litre d’eau chaude vaguement marron avec en sus de la chantilly, 3 kilos de sucre, du cacao, des noix de pécan, que sais-​je encore, le tout au prix de 5 bons vrais expressos), avec des gâteaux industriels dans une ambiance pseudo-​business aseptisée, ce genre de café est fait pour vous. Pour les autres, il reste les troquets habituels et le plaisir de boire un petit noir au comptoir. Profitez-​en tant que ça existe encore.

Bön mais un peu cher
C’est un Starbucks comme les autres, avec tous ses différents choix de boissons au café: caramel macchiato, mocha au chocolat noir ou blanc, cappucino et pour l’été les frappucino, miam ! C’est super bon mais en même temps y’a pas tant de café que ça dedans et c’est un peu cher quand même… Et puis y’a toujours beaucoup de monde à Odéon…

A l’américaine
Pour ceux qui sont fans de série américaine à la Sex in the city, le Starbucks coffee est un lieu idéal. Ambiance à l’américaine, connection wifi pour ceux qui veulent «travailler» avec pour accompagnement un classique frapuchino tout de même cher payé pour ce que c’est après un service un peu longuet. Les pâtisseries né sont pas mauvaises ni exquises non plus. Bref un lieu moyen au final mais qui reste bien placé dans le domaine de la branchitude.

Sympa
Si vous né connaissez pas le concept de la chaîné américaine Starbucks, il repose essentiellement sur le principe du «coffee shop», en proposant principalement plusieurs sortes de café, plusieurs tailles, des thés, des boissons glacées, etc. Laissez-​vous tenter également par un muffin, un club, un sandwhich ou une de leurs patisseries. A vendre également du café de petit producteur d’amérique du sud, et des objets collectors Starbucks. Le service est celui d’un fast-​food, on passé un peu à la chaîné. La qualité des produits reste identique d’un Starbucks à l’autre. A Odéon, le service se fait au rez-​de-​chaussée, et la salle est à l’étage. Constituée de siège et de fauteuils issus de lieux manifestement très différents, cette ambiance un peu zen et branchouille détend. Lové dans un fauteuil pâle, le thé devant vous, un bouquin à la main, vous pouvez commencer à vous détendre. Sauf aux heures de grande fréquentation… Un endroit sympa ou faire une pause entre deux activités ;)
