J’y suis allée un soir de semaine avec des amis. Serveuse sympathique, bon choix de bières et j’ai mangé un délicieux bacon burger. Délais pour être servis très raisonnables.

Service très moyen, des délais assez longs pour être servis. On a testé leur unique poutine et c’était fade. On préfère celle (s) du Moose vers Odeon pour le coup. Coté ambiance, il n’y en avait pas…

Super découverte que le Great Canadian un soir de lamentable défaite du XV de France !!
Rendez-​vous m’est donné dans ce pub canadien (on l’aura facilement deviné) afin de papoter comme il se doit avant, pendant et après le match. Le pub est assez grand et déjà bien rempli à 18h. Ce soir-​là l’entrée est payante 15 € qui donnent droit à 2 boissons, quand on constate que les pintes sont à 8 € et les cocktails à 9 € c’est un bon deal !
On est tout de suite projeté hors de Paris, j’adore ce genre d’ambiance internationale ou tu te mets à discuter avec ton voisin en anglais pour constater qu’il est autant Français que toi. Le staff anglophone est so cool, le patron est juste trop top avec son sourire et sa dégaine de nounours, j’ai eu envie de lui faire un câlin toute la soirée !
Les cocktails sont corrects pour un pub. Les shooters au sirop d’érable sont chouettes ! Ils ont plein de bières en bouteilles importées du Canada et apparemment c’est bien. Niveau bouffe mon ami nous a commandé des nachos avec chili c’est sympa mais bon c’est de la nourriture de pub quoi je né suis pas venue pour la qualité gustative des plats. C’est un peu cher pour ce que c’est je trouve (16,50 € en moyenne pour les plats mais ils sont relativement énormes) et en plus on a attendu tellement longtemps que ça arrive (quasi 1h, bon c’était blindé mais quand même) que j’ai failli être atteinte d’un syndrome Pauline H. et me mettre à manger ma serviette en agressant mes voisins avec ma fourchette !
Information hautement importante: les toilettes sont correctes, propres et le sont restées jusqu’à au moins minuit ! Ils ont aussi une terrasse fermée sur le quai.

Il y a, à mon avis, 3 bonnes raisons de se retrouver là: ou vous êtes canadien ou vous venez voir du sport exotique (genre ni foot ni rugby) ou vous êtes un peu des deux.
Et pour ceux qui y viennent au hasard, sachez que l’endroit est sympa, bien placé avec une grande terrasse. Le staff est plutôt cool. Coté miam-​miam, je n’ai jamais rien commandé mais à l’œil nu et à froid, je dirais que les avis précédents sur le sujet sont plutôt proche de la réalité.

Wife and I are both canadians visiting Paris for the first time. Saw this out on a bus tour and decided to drop in afterwards for a drink.
They have a bunch of Canadian or American beers in bottles like coors light.
A pint of amstel lager is € 6.50
They also got strongbow on draught.
Good atmosphere, your standard sports bar from back home in toronto.
Staff is friendly and speaks English. They are very nice and friendly.
One thing to note, if you’re eating here, go for the chicken and cheese quesadilla! It’s really good!
6 pieces or slices, comes with a side salad and sauces (guacamole, mayo, and some salsa). The hot peppers they add is definitely a good touch.

If you are looking for some american sport bar this is the place. Equipped with multiple televisions they are playing all the major North American events. Try the poutine (a quebec traditional dish (but be aware, isn’t the original cheese) while watching the Habs playing. Unless you have good connection there, staff can be rude and some times seems you are disturbing them but in general a good place to chill and watch some sports in the heart of Paris

Après 6 mois passé au Canada, je né rate jamais une occasion de manger de la poutine ! Celle de The Great Canadian est bonne ! Nous avions pris plusieurs plats à partager avec une bière et nous avons passé une excellente soirée ! Les serveuses anglophones étaient très sympas et très efficaces ! Le bar s’est vite rempli mais installé au fond, nous étions suffisamment au calme pour bavarder tranquillement !

The Great Canadian did not disappoint… the Detroit Lions did disappoint!!! The owner was great! It’s a must go if in Paris for American sports.

It’s hard for me to write a good review of this place, as I’ve only been there once (to see the USA vs. Canada hockey game in the Olympics), and it was incredibly packed; butt to butt, you literally (and yes I mean literally) could not move. This is a really fun place to watch sports with your friends though, as long as you’re one of those deeply invested in the game.

Le bon endroit pour regarder la NHL, boire un verre entre potes ou passer un moment en se sentant au Canada ou aux US. Pour l’originalité de ce qui est présenté dans l’assiette on repassera. La poutine s’en sort mais n’est certainement pas la meilleure qu’on puisse trouver à Paris.

If you want to escape from your Paris experience for a few minutes — stop in here. It’s all habs hockey crap (go Leafs) but it’s mostly english. No Canadian beers on tap — but they have moose head by the bottle. I didn’t eat there — but they have a typical North American menu including things like Nachos. Looked like a big menu and I did see that they had Poutine.

On m’a recommandé l’endroit pour regarder les matches de hockey du mondial 2014 et je dois avouer que je n’ai pas été déçu. Ambiance pub aussi cosmopolite que possible (Canadiens bien sûr, mais aussi Scandinaves, Tchèques, Slovaques, etc… joyeusement rivés aux écrans) et cuisine… de pub canadien (lisez peu ragoûtante). Mais bon, ça éponge la bière qui a tendance à couler à flot un soir de match et c’est tout ce qu’on lui demande, hein ?
Personnel majoritairement anglophone.
Je recommande chaudement un soir de match de hockey, sinon il doit certainement se trouver d’autres pubs à proximité.

If you’re looking for an authentic Parisian experience, this is not the place. But if you’re looking for a bar that might feel like your typical pub/​sports bar in the states, this is the place.
I went on a friend’s recommendation that she and her other international teacher friends come to this bar when they’re in Paris and want to meet some friendly, English-​speaking men. And that did not disappoint. I made two new friends quickly and spent the rest of the evening hanging out with them, chatting, and grabbing dinner nearby. This was really handy considering I had been traveling alone for a few days and was in need of some fun people to have a conversation with.
The beer was fine and I didn’t order any food.

Sure I am a Bruins fan. So I did not like the giant Habs sweater on a wall. But I do like Canada. So it was fun to see a Canadian themed bar in Paris. Beer was good. The Great Canadian was decent, but I mostly enjoyed Kilkenny’s. The bartenders were kind and sweet. I was there to watch the game (the Netherlands vs. Costa Rica) but my boyfriend does not watch sports. So he was talking to people around the bar area. Apparently the bartenders were really sweet.
And yes, they have poutine! That was it. That surely did it for me. I haven’t had poutine since I left New England area. So I sure missed it. Their nachos did not look great, but it was overall a great visit.

Autant le quartier est sympa et le personnel franchement adorable, autant la cuisine est comme je l’ai lu plus bas, incroyablement grasse…
Je n’ai pas du tout aimé mon burger: trop gras, un goût étrange, pour 16.50e. Je trouve ça très cher pour ce que c’est.
Le choix des consos est tout ce qu’il y a de plus classique (6e hors HH, qui se terminent d’ailleurs à 19h).
C’est dommage: les serveurs sont vraiment sympas, et c’est plutôt cool de parler anglais avec eux.
Mais non. Pas pour moi.

bon la promesse etait belle… depuis notre retour des US mon homme est en manqué de buffalo wings, introuvables à Paris, alors quand des copains nous ont dit monday night @ TGC is wings night… hop on y est allé.
Au final grosse deception, les wings etait certes à la sauce buffalo, et sont à 70cts pièce, mais rien à voir avec les finger licking wings des dives américains… une sauce grasse, epaisse, d’une couleur bizarre… rien de bon
donc amis Unilocaleurs please, donnez moi vos adresses secrètes pour déguster des buffalo wings dans la plus belle ville du monde :)

Another awesome place to watch games (American football, European football, hockey…)! Great crowd and great food menu! The choice of beers is pretty classic and well varied. Sports fans, this is the place to go in Paris!

Ich komme aus Paris und ich hatte seit lang die Erfahrung als Tourist nicht mehr erlebt. Bis «The Great Canadian» Kneipe… Ich war da mit Freunden unterwegs, wir wollte kurz was trinken und vor der Sonne genießen. Deswegen haben wir gedacht, dass ein kleines Bierchen das passende Getränk sein sollte.
Wir hatten also 2 Biere und ein Cocktail bestellt. Ich lasse euch den Preis raten :-) ja wir sind in Paris, deswegen haben wir für diese 3 Getränke etwa 18 € bezahlt (und wir hatten kleines Bier…) Also ziemlich teuer, besonders für das Ergebnis: mein Bier war OK aber nichts besonders, wir hatten auch ein dunkles Bier, und ich frage mich, ob es nicht mit Wasser gemischt wurde. Ok als dunkles Bier Richtung Guiness ist es normal, dass es kein/​wenig «Kohlensäure» gibt. Aber hier, ich frage mich, ob es nicht mit Wasser gemischt wurde. Es hatte wirklich wie Leitunsgwassser geschmeckt. Das Cocktail war nicht besser.
Also für mich war es ein Touri-​Erlebnis: viel bezahlen, nicht so viel geniessen, und alles nur weil es in der Nähe von St-​Michel liegt… Enttäuschung !

né cherchez pas plus loin, si vous voulez passer un bon moment dans un Pub et que vous aimez l’esprit canadien (pas le coté Canada Dry) c’est ici qu’il faut venir.
l’endroit comme les gens et le staff est chaleureux et accueillant, j’y est vraiment retrouvé un peu de ce Quebec que j’avais adoré lors d’un de mes voyages. Le lieu est particulièrement indiqué pour les soirées sportives.
Ici on cause avec tout le monde, et on né compte plus les heures défilées.
Un p’tit bémol, le service est assez long quand on commande a manger mais rapide pour les boissons.
Ah une dernière chose le lundi les wings sont seulement a 50 centmes d’euro et attentio a la version épicée…me suis fait pleuré avec leur sauces.
Bref je sens que je vais y être régulièrement.

I’ve been to The Great Canadian 3 times now — my first visit was over Thanksgiving and they did put on a nice spread. On my most recent trip, I stopped in for lunch. It’s in a great spot close to St Germain and the Ile de la Cite — walking distance to Sainte Chapelle and Notre Dame. It was nice to sit in a quiet pub, drink a beer, watch some sports, and get away from the crowds and heavy French food. The TGC was not busy at lunch — but I have seen it busier in the evenings.
I am disappointed that there is only hockey memorabilia and I think I saw one rugby jersey. What happened to the Roughriders flag?!?

I was in Paris with my best friend around Easter 2011, and we visited this place specifically to watch hockey (it was the playoffs– normal vacation activities be damned)! Both of us went to college in Montréal, so we’re happily indoctrinated Montréal Canadiens fans. Disappointingly, the bar was chock-​a-​block full of noisy Boston Bruins supporters. We were at least pleased to notice a pronounced Quebec accent muttering «Tabarnac!» at the table behind us!
We popped in here a couple times during our visit, with mixed results. At one point, the staff tried to tell us that they weren’t going to put the hockey on because basketball was more pertinent– excuse us?! You have twenty-​nine televisions (slight exaggeration, I admit) and YOU ARE A CANADIAN PUB. Hockey, please! We batted our eyelashes and a subsequent staff member complied with our request.
As you’re in Paris, I really wouldn’t suggest eating here. You can get a decent burger, but do you really want that? Go find lovely food elsewhere, and wander this way if you want to watch some sports and enjoy a refreshingly unusual mix of patrons.

Food is mediocre (anything Mexican related is down right bad), but great place to watch American sports (NFL). Fun place with good mix of locals, tourists and ex-​pats.

This place was so disappointing. My partner and I are somewhat picky eaters. So, coming to Paris, we knew we would have trouble finding somewhere to eat that didn’t specialize in French cuisine… something that didn’t really appeal to us. My brother told us about this place and we looked at their website as well before going. The pictures and information that the site had made the restaurant seem amazing. We went for lunch and when we got there, there were only a couple people in the restaurant and just one girl working. She spoke English, although I don’t feel like she knew much. First of all, the counter of the bar in which we sat at smelt of something really bad… so we had to endure that the whole time. Secondly, the food was absolutely brutal. Also, the girl wasn’t even that friendly but hey, that’s how the service is in Paris, I wasn’t really expecting her to be too friendly.
From a fellow Canadian, go to a place called The Moose! It’s around the same area. It was 100x better than TGC. Friendly staff that all spoke perfect English, great food, and it was much more busier and livelier.

Pub canadien relativement sympathique du coté de St Michel (pas loin du Paradis du fruit). C’est généralement assez tranquille, il y a plus de monde lors d’évènements sportifs.
On peut y prendre à boire (9,50EUR le cocktail, 6EUR le verre de vin, 5EUR la bière environ) mais également à manger (starters, burgers, pâtisseries américaines).
Personnellement j’y ai pris un Margarita que je n’ai pas aimé, d’où ma note.
Service sympathique. Les serveurs/​serveuses sont généralement anglophones, donc si vous avez envie de pratiquer un peu votre anglais ça peut être sympa ;)
Il n’y a pas d’happy hour. Ils acceptent la CB à partir de 15EUR seulement, les toilettes sont propres (celles des filles en tout cas).

My wife and I stopped in for a beer (because we are Canadian) we sat there for 20 min while the waitress chatted with someone at the bar, we were never asked if we want a drink, just given two menus and she never returned. We got up and left, due to the terrible service. I would not this place. Stick to the French restaurants when in Paris.

Pub très sympathique, accueil impeccable, terrasse couverte, ràs. On regrette simplement que le prix des pressions soit à peu près équivalent aux autres établissements du quartier alors que c’est ici une spécialité. Mention spéciale pour les écrans face aux urinoirs, qui permettent de né rien rater du match en cas d’envie pressante.

It was so neat to see ‘The Real Canadian Pub’ smack in the middle of Paris, we had to go in. I was giddy to see all the hockey memorabilia on the walls, it made me feel so at home. Great place to watch sports games and hang out. I thought it was a lil funny that they had an american working behind the bar, but I don’t think I really expected any different. Wonderful place, great atmosphere and I will definitley go back the next time I’m in Paris!
However, I was VERY disapointed that they only have ONE Canadian beer on tap, the rest are American. I also found the staff a lil rude

Un bar plutôt agréable, très orienté sports.
Les murs sont couverts d’écrans (il y en a même dans les toilettes), les sports US sont à l’honneur. La cuisine est ouverte non-​stop et il est plutôt agréable de né pas devoir bouger pour manger quand il fait froid dehors.
Au niveau de la nourriture, c’est plutôt classique: burgers, sandwichs et finger-​food (avec quelques spécialités canadiennes tout de même). Le rapport qualité prix n’est pas excellent (comptez autour de 15 € pour un plat et né vous attendez pas à quelque chose d’extraordinaire).
Au niveau des boissons: la pinte de blonde maison est à 5 € tout le temps.

The staff was not so friendly when we were trying to ask them if they were showing a game later on tv. However they speak English very well, so that was a plus.
The food was pricey for just being bar food, maybe that’s just a product of the good location. I got the chicken and bacon club, which was pretty delicious.

L’endroit est sympa mais n’attendait pas trop de la cuisine incroyablement grasse. Les burgers né sont pas les meilleurs sur Paris et c’est assez cher. Vous avez même la Poutine… un plat canadien… Plus gras, tu meurs!

Many of you know that despite having grown up in Paris for 20 years, and to everyone’s surprise, it doesn’t feel that way and when I’m in France, at what I like to call my secondary residence, with my parents, I often suffer from not being able to watch any NHL or NFL games. My parents are too cheap to pay for international cable TV, which is quite costly.
And this is where the Great Canadian comes in, this wonderful bar which is located just a few hundred meters (yes, meters not feet or yards — screw you and the stupid US units system! — metric rules.) from the Place St. Michel, right along the Seine river, and which features a few televisions which play North American sports.
I’ve been there for AFC championship games, Bruins games, you name it. If I’m in Paris and it’s Sunday and the Patriots do not have a BYE week, I’m usually there for games. David P. and I were there when the Patriots beat the Chargers a few years back, the game running very late into the night and we were happy to see many American fans come out and join us.
The crowd there is quite eclectic and seems to feature a lot of Brits, Canadians and Americans and hardly any French. The staff there primarily speaks English which makes for a nice, refreshing experience in the middle of Paris.
The food there is pretty standard American bar food, with nachos, wings and other junk and their beer selection is pretty good. A pretty standard ex-​patriot bar with American sports. I thank them for the service they provide, or I’d be screwed trying to watch the games. The décor is very Canadian and the door handles to the establishment event feature hockey sticks; quite the experience going there. Oh and they have outside seating as well.

The location is great, right along the Seine and just steps from Metro St. Michel. The drinks are decently priced and the food is good but a little expensive. The best part though are the TVs for sporting events. If you want to watch a match (currently watching some of the World Cup here) be sure to get there at least an hour and a half early to get a table. If you do get a table, its great to watch the game but if you don’t you might find yourself constantly in the way. The service is pretty good, there’s one girl there though who is rude and forgot our order (she’s a short brunette), but everyone else was good.
Food — the ‘fries’ which are like little potato wedges taste like tap water. I don’t know how but eww. The chicken club was really good though! I’ve also tried the chili nachos — excellent and HUGE!
The décor is very Canadian and if you’re feeling homesick its a great place to go look at some sweet memorabilia and a pretty awesome wooden statue of a Mountie in the corner! And the door handles are hockey sticks!

Le Great Canadian Pub se trouve à quelques pas de Saint Michel, mais heureusement n’est pas dans la partie qui propose des restaurants touristiques. J’ai été très contente de trouver un pub, style Amérique du Nord et surtout canadien. Ce pub a une bonne ambiance surtout si vous êtes là au moment où un match est diffusé.
A part à boire, nous retrouvons de quoi grignoter. Il y a bien sûr des burgers. Vous retrouverez aussi des sandwichs, des salades ou des entrées comme les «potato skins «. En dessert, il y a le beignet, la tarte aux noix de pécan ou le fameux cheese cake — ça vous changera des classiques français.
