Michael C. covered most of the details in his review. The breakfast has gone up to 13 euros, but like him my wife and I skipped it. Our room was on the small side, and while it was clean it just had the feeling of being cheaply built. The finish on everything was a bit shoddy, and like Michael I found the lack of outlets annoying, although they did put a hairdryer with a shaver socket in our bathroom. I also didn’t like that our door didn’t have a deadbolt, just the standard lock on the door handle. The Wifi setup hasn’t changed, although we didn’t have the same problems that he did. Maybe they didn’t have many people staying there the night we were there. Another thing of note is that the rooms aren’t air conditioned. It was fine the night we were there, but could be problematic on hotter days. If I was going to be in Paris for more than one night I’d pick somewhere else. It was fine since we were just passing through, and needed to catch an early train, but I’d want someplace nicer if I was going to be there a few days. Also, while it’s convenient to Gare Lyon, there’s hotels that are more convenient to a metro stop and/or are closer to tourist attractions.

Great location, right down the street from the Gare De Lyon metro entrance. The location made it very simple for us to get up and get right on the train. This is about the best thing I can say about this particular hotel however. There is only one outet to plug in electronics. So if you need to charge multiple things, a laptop a phone. You need to find another way or take turns. The outlet is also far from the bed so be aware of that. There was no outlet in the bathroom for a hairdryer or curling iron or whatever nonsense you would use in the bathroom. When I was drying my hair I would go to the desk where the outlet was dry my hair a little and run back to the bathroom to use the mirror. Not the biggest deal ever but a minor inconvenience. The hotel offers free wifi, but not just to patrons to anyone near the hotel. The wifi is not secure in anyway so 1) be wary of hackers and 2) I could just about never get on the wifi presumably because there were too many people on it or something. This proved to be problematic for a traveler because I like to plan my days out and look stuff up with the internet and my italian phone does not work in France. When I asked the hotel staff about this they said«It should work» and when I said it didn’t they said«I don’t know». and that was the end of the conversation. They had no interest in actually addressing it. This came from two different people too, the day shift guy and the night shift guy. The hotel makes you leave your key when you leave which to me is a bit strange but not really a big deal. It only got on my nerves twice when I came back and there was no one at the desk so I had to wait for someone to show up to retrieve my key. The hotel offers breakfast for 12 Euro a meal. From what I understand it’s a buffet, I did not partake because I’d rather spend my euro in a restaurant. The rooms were clean so that was not a complaint. The neighborhood seemed nice and was within walking distance to a movie theatre that shows American films in french. If you want to walk up the street 15 more minutes there is a theatre that shows American films«VO» which is in the original language but with french subtitles, but that is a review for another day. There are several small restaurants, a couple of convenience stores, and ATMS all around the hotel. Again, the location was very good as a homebase. All-in-all I wasn’t too impressed by this hotel. It’s in a great location and that can’t be denied but there are also like 5 other hotels on the same street so there is a lot of competition and next time I’m in Paris I will be staying at one of the others. 750 Euro for 5 nights, 2 people.
