Trattoria Pulcinella

My husband and I stumbled upon this place after struggling to find a place that was open for dinner on a Monday in Paris. It was so nice to to eat some pizza and the service was great. My husband had the meat special and I had the traditional Margharita both with some Pinot Grigio. Very delicious!

Pizzas et antipastis délicieux (jamais testés les pâtes mais elles ont l’air tout aussi bonnes). Personnel un peu speed au premier abord mais finalement très sympa et efficace.
Pas de réservations possibles mais le temps d’attente n’est jamais très long et si vraiment les pizzas peuvent être emportées ;)

Une excellente pizzeria !
Depuis peu dans le quartier, j’y suis déjà allée plusieurs fois. La cuisine est vraiment très bonne, pour des prix raisonnables. J’aime beaucoup leur pizza, notamment celle à la mozzarella fumée.
L’équipe est très sympa et très souriante (et vous aurez peut être le droit à un limoncello offert en dessert!).
Côté ambiance, c’est très chaleureux et convivial mais la salle est très petite donc c’est un peu bruyant.
Par contre, étant donné la qualité de la cuisine et de la taille du restaurant il y a beaucoup de monde: vous pouvez réserver jusqu’à 20h (inclus), après vous risquez de devoir attendre.

Il faut bien l’avouer la pizza est depuis très longtemps une véritable institution chez moi, mais attention pas n’importe laquelle. Je suis devenu avec les années tout particulièrement exigeant et par conséquent, je suis bien trop souvent déçu par de mauvaises pizzas ou pire par les bons conseils avisés qu’on à pu me donner en la matière, moi le grand amateur de pizza…
J’ai été très souvent déçu, oui, mais pas cette fois! Je né vais pas y aller par 4 chemins, c’est tout simplement à ce jour pour moi la meilleure pizza de Paris!
Ingrédients de qualité et produits, une équipe sympathique avec ce petit accent italien qui fait voyager. A tester, vraiment.

Very lovely place, food is good. I had 4 cheese pasta with truffle shavings, great! There was a very rude drunk Russian man waiting to be served outside. And he was shouting and slamming the door, but it was still good.

We ate here our first night in Paris after a long day of travel. Loved it. Fun, small, loud place with a good Italian feel and great food. The pizza was awesome, and our girls loved their pasta. We also had an incredibly fresh tomato-​basil-​mozzarella salad, which was spectacular.

Un accueil à l’italienne! on s’y sent presque plus touriste qu’en Italie, pas d’indien dans la cuisine, c’est un restaurant italien avec un service (souvent jeune) et un chef italien…
L’endroit est très petit (ambiance –un poil trop– cosy) et je pense qu’ils né prennent pas de réservation alors allez-​y de bonne heure.
Tout ce que j’y ai gouté était bon

L’accueil est toujours top, ils font à emporter si la petite salle est pleine, la carte est courte, mais vous pouvez tout prendre, honnetement, tout est bon!
Pizza super fraiche, pâtes savoureuses, vin au verre peu cher et pas mal du tout!
le fait que ce soit en bas de chez moi, n’aide, ni mon porte monnaie, ni ma ligne :)

Première impression assez mitigé pour ce qui est des pizzas. Je né trouve pas la pâte à pizza superbe. Je né parlerais pas du restaurant, j’ai pris à emporter mais c’est toujours rempli et trop compact (ben oui faut faire du chiffre). Côté tarifs, ah ben c’est pas donné non plus.

Ce minuscule restaurant italien est vraiment fantastique… L’équipe est souriante, sympa (nous avions été servis par une demoiselle à l’accent italien particulièrement charmant), et surtout les pizzas sont excellentes ! C’est simple, une des meilleures pizzas que j’ai pu goûter à Paris. Après, tout est affaire de goût bien sûr, mais il faut avouer que c’était parfait.
Que ce soit pour les pizzas ou pour l’ambiance, je garde un très bon souvenir de mon passage dans ce restaurant.

As an American who knows little more than «Bonjour» and «Parlez vous anglais?» and certainly no Italian… I say skip this place.
we arrived at 7:25pm and were told to come back «in 10 minutes» because they wernt serving dinner yet. fine, no big deal. but you could tell they were already annoyed that we didnt speak French OR Italian. when we came back 10 minutes later their patio was already filling up and they quickly ushered my husband and I to a tiny table that was extremely shaky and wobbly. this isn’t much of an issue generally but this meal included 2 giant pizzas (that were too big to fit on the tiny table AND are intended to be eaten with a knife and fork) 2 glasses of wine (in cheap unstable glasses) and 2 glasses of water. we were constantly having to fight the wobbly table while cutting our pizzas and by the time we got about half-​way through with dinner it finally happened: the shaking of the table due to cutting the pizza knocked over my husbands wine glass sending red wine all over our food and his clothing.
the reaction from the waitress who passed by right after it happened was just laughter. that’s right, she laughed at us. when we explained that it was due to the table and the act of cutting our food she simply laughed again. it was almost as if they knew what they were doing by sitting us there.
we walked away with ruined half-​eaten pizzas and what we later found out was a ruined men’s button up shirt.
all in all– the pizza (from what I can remember) was okay, but the experience and the way we were treated overshadowed the food entirely.
plain and simple: don’t come here unless you speak the language and can pass off as someone other than American.

Ca y est, j’ai enfin essayé cette institution du 18ème. Et j’en suis sortie ravie.
A la carte, choix de pizzas, pas forcément très originales dans leur composition, plutôt classiques et sans fioritures mais très goutues. Signe de bon goût: les infâmes pizzas hawaïennes sont absentes de la carte :)
Sinon, choix de pâtes du jour (celles que j’ai goutées etaient délicieuses), qui évoluent j’imagine selon le choix du marché.
J’ai testé deux très bons plats: pizza aux courgettes qui avaient disons du caractère, du goût, pas comme la plupart des pizzas qui ont souvent un peu toutes le même goût. La pâte était bien fine, comme en Italie.
Egalement goûtées: pâtes (agnolli — sortes de raviolis en un peu plus gros je dirais) à la truffe qui étaient dignes de celles que j’ai pu manger en Toscane. Merci !

… et pourtant un service qui laisse franchement à désirer. Ecoute et gentillesse = 0
A notre arrivée le restaurant est quasiment plein. La serveuse nous regarde à peine, blasée de m’expliquer la composition d’un plat inscrit en italien sur le tableau. Notre table qui se trouve dans le passage fut constamment bousculé au cours du diner. On a déja connu mieux.
On a forcément dû tomber sur un mauvais soir car le reste des avis ont l’air de plaider pour un service hors paire. Mais vous aurez compris ma légère déception, persuadée d’après les précédents avis que j’allais tomber sur un bijou…
A retenter en semaine pour éviter la cohue et peut être alors mériter un sourire bienveillant des serveurs !

Sur la recommandation d’amis, j’ai testé ce petit restaurant italien de quartier aux dehors charmants. L’accueil des serveurs italiens est très chaleureux et vous aurez l’impression de mettre un vrai pied en Italie car entre eux ils né parlent que cette langue :) Et l’endroit semble être le repère de connaisseurs du quartier.
Concernant la carte, vous aurez un large choix de pizzas et de plats du jour alléchants ! J’ai opté pour ma première visite pour une calzone napoletano, une pizza fermée donc. J’ai pu admirer le travail de la pâte, impressionnant.
L’assiette que je récupère l’est tout autant, avec la calzone débordant de son cadre !
Malheureusement si j’apprécie la pâte très fine pour une pizza normale, quand il s’agit d’une calzone, on obtient une pâte cramée lors de la cuisson car trop fine.
Grosse déception donc pour mon plat fade et pas très réussi. Je vous conseille vraiment d’opter pour les pizzas ou les pâtes qui avaient l’air bien meilleures !
Pour le dessert, j’ai craqué pour celui à la chantilly et aux amandes caramélisées sur un lit de biscuit café. Un résultat gourmand à souhait mais là encore, la quantité trop importante écoeure au final.

Came here on a Saturday evening in March. The place fills up quickly, so you need to call ahead and make reservations. This place is not a quiet or romantic spot to have dinner. It is loud (both staff and patrons) and brightly lit with overhead lights (no candles & such). As others mentioned, they pack in the tables here, so watch your elbows. There is no atmosphere to speak of (if that is what you are expecting or looking for).
For us, the taste of the food was about as good as any of the Italian places we usually eat at in the 7^th (rue de Grenelle). Freshly prepared pastas & tortellini and wonderful tasting sauces. The pizza was also fresh and piping hot, but I cannot say that it was the best, because it was about like most good pizzerias.

My husband and I are pizza fanatics and it was imperative that we find a great pie during our trip in Paris! Thanks to Unilocal,we found this place and it exceeded our expectations! It’s a very small restaurant that may accommodate a maximum of 30 guests — we were lucky to get a table but it was still so tight. There was only one waitress who did her best to get everyone situated and their orders in.
I had the NAPOLITANA (anchovies, capers, olives) pizza and husby had the MARGHERITA (plain cheese with basil) — we relished in each bite and finished both pizzas! I’ve never had anchovy on my pizza before, but for some reason, it only made sense to do so in Europe! I did not regret it at all — I loved each salty bite!
What Trattoria Pulcinella lacked in space, it made up for in great quality pizza!

J’adore! Bön vaut mieux réserver mais l’équipe est géniale, supers plats, limoncello offert si vous êtes bonne ambiance. Je recommande les pâtes du jour!

Just got back from having dinner at this place with a friend.
We’ve been in a funk with finals, approaching deadlines, and the overall drab of Paris’ weather. This place was like soup for the soul. Except they don’t have soup.
It’s teeny tiny, freezing outside, so the windows are completely steamed. They had an awesome playlist — confusing — but great nonetheless: Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gotye, Lenny Kravitz. Nice touch.
I believe it’s family owned and they were consumed in speaking loudly in Italian, which was an adorable touch.
We split the vegetarian pizza; it comes with artichokes, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and eggplant. Very yummy; it hit the spot.
The tira misu is amazing. Soft and fluffy and creamy, and I detected a little touch of orange. Definitely going back.

It is not possible to find better Italian anywhere in the world. I am sure of that statement. This place is phenomenal. I would fly back to Paris tonight for just one bite of their lemon pasta. It was the most delicious thing I have ever put in my mouth. We sat here and laughed, drank and ate until we couldn’t take another bite, another sip, another laugh… and then we ate some more. It is that amazing. Do yourself a favor and try this place… and bring me back some lemon pasta!

Excellente pizza. Les ingrédients sont gouteux et la pâté atteint presque la perfection. Rien à dire là dessus. Service chaleureux et rapide, le restaurant est assez mignon mais un peu trop petit a mon gout. C’est ce qui fait son charme certes, mais je me suis faite marcher sur les pieds environ 10 fois durant la soirée :)
Aurait mérité la 5eme étoile si il y avait eu peut etre 2 ou 3 choix supplémentaires de pizza un peu moins «classiques» … Je n’ai pas gouté les pates mais elles avaient l’air très parfumées et crémeuses…

Accueil très chaleureux, plats généreux et excellents. Très bruyant, beaucoup de monde, pensez à réserver.

Tout simplement l’une des meilleurs pizza de Paris. L’endroit est petit mais ça vaut le coup !

Let’s just say that it’s hard to find Pizza Napoletana in Italy that is this good!
And now that I am back home in Brooklyn, well, all those places that I thought had amazing Neopolitan-​style pizza, are rather disappointing in comparison to Trattoria Pulcinella. So they sort of spoiled it for me!
During our two-​week vacation in Paris, we ate there twice and both times loved everything we had. Their menu is limited to pizzas and pastas but you could put a blindfold on and choose any of their menu selections and you will be just fine.
My only disappointment is that both nights we went they were out of Rose (Gragnano) wine which pairs exceptionally well with the Southern Italian cuisine. Also, expect a wait if you go after 8pm.
FOOD: excellent !!
PRICE: excellent value !!
SERVICE: a bit hectic & scattered given the crowd but very nice and accommodating
ATMOSPHERE: the place is small, crowded and a bit haphazardly decorated, very animated with lots of locals eating there. The energy of the place works in its favor making for a fun and lively evening. And being Paris, of course there are a few outdoor tables in the summertime.

Just had a fantastic meal here– cannot say enough good things. We arrived at 7:30 and were the only ones there, within fifteen minutes there the place was packed! The waitress (didn’t catch her name) was amazing. She explained the menu to us (it was written in French so she tried her best to translate the specials to English– even going so far as to ask many people at the restaurant how to translate a certain word!) The food comes out quick and hot and delicious! I ordered the ravioli special with four cheeses, truffles, cream sauce and fresh herbs, and my husband had the gnocchi special with simple tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. We got a 15 euro bottle of wine and were out of there for 60 euro total! Probably the best meal we have had in Paris so far!

Ex-​cel-​lent. Ça c’est de la vraie pizza ! Mention spéciale à la Braseola !

Une des raisons pour laquelle je né partirai jamais du 18eme !!
Un accueil chaleureux, le restaurant est très animé, on mange à coté d’inconnus toujours sympathiques.
Vous pouvez choisir n’importe quel plat sur la carte les yeux fermés, tout est succulent, les produits sont frais, possible que même en Italie vous né trouverai pas meilleure pizza.
Par contre il y a beaucoup de monde, donc il est difficile d’avoir une table, on peut reserver uniquement pour le service de 8h, sinon la solution c’est de prendre à emporter :)

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Paris. We had to wait about 15 minutes, but it was well worth it.
We both ordered pasta. I ordered cheese tortellini with cream sauce. I’m not usually a big fan of tortellini, but I saw it on someone else’s plate as I was waiting to be seated (ok, I was glaring at people in the hopes that they would eat faster) and it looked spectacular. It was. The tortellini was clearly homemade, and the tomato cream sauce complemented it nicely. I nearly licked up the remaining sauce after exhausting the pasta and bread supply. My boyfriend ordered gnocchi with basil truffle cream sauce, which was also amazing.
It’s out of the way and you will have to wait, but if you’re looking for Italian in Paris, this is the place to go.

Wow l’équipe ici est tellement gentille c’est étonnant, on né s’attend pas à être aussi bien reçu dans un restaurant parisien! On m’offre d’emblée un Prosecco, délicieux par ailleurs.
Bön déjà, la soirée commence bien…
L’assiette est… wow. Pizza folle, préparée devant nous à quelques mètres de la table. Pizzaiolo adorable, service impeccable, aux petits soins, addition raisonnable, pas exorbitante, ambiance familiale, de quartier, on se sent comme à la maison.
Bah au final on est bien là non? On reste pour un dernier verre?

I’m not sure if we walked in the wrong door, but they did not seem very happy to see us for lunch. Most of the pasta was good (except for the one with the peas — which was not what was ordered, but my DC had decided to roll with it) — on the rich and heavy side. It was our only off-​meal during our 2 week visit to Paris and it’s bound to happen.

Shh!!! Don’t tell everyone about this place — it’s my secret address for the most delicious, affordable Italian in Paris. Proper good pizza and pasta — the best I’ve found in Paris — made by bona fide Italians. It’s a pretty small place so it can be hard to get a table, but they also do takeaway for the pizzas.

Si vous né connaissez pas encore ce petit restaurant italien du 18ème, il serait temps d’aller y faire un tour!
L’accueil est vraiment sympa et chaleureux, le restaurant est tenu par de VRAIS Italiens (même si l’accoutrement du chef ressemble à celui d’un chef japonais :)) et les plats sont A TOMBER!
Le service est hyper rapide et les plats copieux.
J’ai pris des pâtes qui étaient excellentes mais j’ai pu constater que les pizza étaient très garnies! (mes origines italiennes ont confirmé la haute qualité des produits! :) :) :)). Les produits sont vraiment frais!
Et pour couronner le tout, les prix sont vraiment abordables!
Bref, courrez y (mais pas trop sinon il n’y aura plus de place pour moi: p) et surtout RÉSERVEZ! (réservation jusqu’à 20h seulement, après, vous pouvez venir et voir s’il a des tables libres… ou pas!).

Voilà bien une trattoria fort sympatico au pied de la butte ou presque. De très bonne pizzas à la pâté croquante, servie chaude avec une ricotta mouseuse et fondante. Optez pour la Sarda, un brun piquante.
Gnocci brulante divino arrosé d’un vino de la casa comme il faut. Pain à volonté, né pas hésitez le midi à s’y pointer à 12h15 pétante au risqué de se retrouver à la porte. Quleques tables en terrasse quand le Printemps s’annonce.
Service très sympathique qui n’hésite pas, si vous êtes un fidèle à rallonger la copa quand la discussion est vive. Si vous avez envie de light, salade fraiche un peu folle: olive, verdure, mozarella. On est un peu collé serré ma c’est l’Italie en bas de chez vous!

Le restaurant Italien du 18é par excellence.
Souvent bondés, ce restaurant né peut pas accueillir beaucoup monde (environ 20 places), du coup il est très fortement recommandé de réserver avant si on veut avoir la chance de gouter les délicieux plats italiens.
Que ce soit les pizzas ou les gnocchis la qualité de la nourriture valent le détour.
Si il en reste (vaut mieux même le commander en début de repas) ruez vous sur le tiramisu en guise de dessert… un des meilleurs.
