I’m in love with this store. The cuteness factor is a gagillion percent but yet everything is super tasteful and carefully crafted that it’s not too sweet for the senses. Owned by the same person as Objet Celeste, the jewelry and lighting across the street, Ursa Minor carries her keen eye to the rest of the home, specifically the kids room with pastel colored hanging mobiles, paper maché flowers, quirky bookshelves, woven baskets, paper streamers and knitted flag garlands. Every which way you look there is something original and incredible to add some pop and personality to your kids room, but not just. You could really accent the rest of the home with the stuff too. I picked up some fantastic pillows for my son’s room at 18E a piece that would look amazing on a reading chair or couch as well. Aside from the great décor, there’s also a well-edited selection of toys, clothes and accessories, like hand-crocheted tiaras painted in delicate pastel colors, do-it-yourself plane kits and ceramic dishes. As if that weren’t enough the saleswoman who works there is a total sweetheart! Really a five star establishment in every sense of the term! And after your shopping spree you can pick up a slice of gluten-free cheesecake at Helmut Newcake across the street.
