Auchan

J’adore les supermarchés mais le Auchan de la Défense j’ai du mal.
Toujours bondé de gens, bruyant, des attentes aux caisses interminables, cet endroit a tout pour me faire fuir moi qui aime prendre mon temps entre les différents rayons.
Les étalages sont souvent mal rangés sans doute à cause de l’affluence.

Cet Auchan au fond des Quatre Temps est mieux achalandé que celui de Bagnolet. Le problème est que je suis un peu loin maintenant de cet hypermarché.
On y trouve à peu près ce que l’on veut.
Comme toujours, dans ce genre de grandes surfaces, il vaut mieux éviter les samedis après-​midi et les heures de grande affluence car l’attente aux caisses est extrêmement longue.

This is not your average French market. It is a total beast! (by French standards of course.) Although it cannot compare to the Costcos and the Sams Clubs of the US, it is the best place to get deals on groceries just across the Paris border.
Its located in Puteaux, in the Quatre Temps shopping center at La Défense, (RER A, Métro line 1 and SNCF). Here you can find items from all over the world and more importantly, all over france. They have a wide selection of fruits and vegetables, meats, fish, cheeses, cereals ect. In short, it is all that a grocery store should be.
My million dollar advice to you, check out the «Auchan Self Discount» section before you do anything else. The «ASD“section is the greatest thing in the world if you are living in Paris on a budget. Basically, you can find nearly ALL of the things you would want to eat there for dirt cheap. The «ASD» section offers a wide variety of cereals, nuts, cheeses, meats and deli meats, alcohols, sodas, cleaning supplies, frozen foods, a entire wall of cookies and «biscuits», bread and much more. If you are in front staring at the Auchan sign, the «ASD» section is located on the first floor on the far left wall of the store. If you make a habit of checking it out before you get the rest on your list, you will be sure to save lots of money during your stay.
