Rochefort-en-Terre is a beautiful commune in the Brittany region of France and is highly worthy of your time, should you have the opportunity to go. Designated as a «Small City of Character»(in French), Rochefort-en-Terre is certainly deserving of such a title. I came here just before Christmas 2014 and was greeted by a scene straight out of a painting. After finding street parking(on narrow roads), we walked towards the area where beautiful string lights adorned(it seemed) every street. Obviously done for Christmas, we were all transported to a Christmas town and not in the cheesy sense of the word. Medieval buildings housed all kinds of businesses, such as restaurants, chocolateries, bakeries, and shops(that sold tea, gourmet foodstuffs, and handmade artisan goods like candles, jewelry, and art). I knew that I would get things to bring home from here because of the wide variety of places to buy souvenirs from. I took a bunch of photos that night, but it was drizzling slightly and with the dark sky, many of them aren’t much fun to look at. I’ll find the best ones and share them with you all. I got chocolates, candies, butter biscuits, macarons, tea, and kouign-amann from the little shops(all within walking distance of one another) and we ended up eating dinner at Crêperie du Puits. If you are looking for any of items I mentioned above, in addition to pottery, furniture, pain d’épices, local wines and beers, cute slippers with well-known cartoon characters, and French cookery/bakeware, Rochefort-en-Terre will have everything you are seeking and more.

Je né partage pas forcément l’enthousiasme général sur Rochefort et ce a cause notamment du côté business a touriste qui y règne. Cela reste malgré tout un endroit charmant.
