Pavillon Henri IV

There can’t be a more perfect view of Paris when the weather is clear, and the morning sunrise, on 1 January 2015, was unforgettable.
The hotel and room were absolutely beautiful, we took advantage of the beautiful bath (and the rainhead shower), and the huge king-​size bed was like floating on a cloud.
We were amused that the Pavillon Henri IV is where Louis XIV was born, enjoyed a stunning walk in the park next door, and had a nice walk around town. I would really recommend this as an easy getaway from Paris, or for special occasions.
We had a funny incident in the evening where we didn’t double-​lock the door and a chambermaid came right into the vestibule while we were lying in our bathrobes on the bed, but that’s possibly because of our lack of French to have yelled out, ‘Come back later please’.
The folks at reception were exceptionally friendly, acknowledging us with big smiles whenever we walked by, which seemed warmer hospitality than some hotels.

Un lieu plein d histoire érigé par henri IV et qui a vu naître louis XIV. Un très bon diner avec.une.vue panoramique sur la Seine et Paris. Magique. Le pavillon est au pied du parc du domaine national. 70 ha de verdure et de jardins conçus par le Nôtre. Pour finir le week end, n hésitez pas à visiter le château à 5 min à pied de l hôtel qui aujourd’hui fait office de musée préhistorique. Un hôtel relais châteaux 4 étoiles, à 30 min de Paris, qui vaut le détour

A classy restaurant, offering traditional French cuisine. This restaurant has 3 assets. One, a seriously good food offering, showing that it does not require to invent new and complicated dishes to delight one’s palate. The second is a great view on the whole Western part of the Paris area, but not Paris itself except for the Eiffel tower. The third is a visit to the room where French king Louis XIV was born. The dining room itself is very large, bordering on grand, with a terrace when weather permits. Add good service and a fair price, and you have a pretty attractive restaurant for anyone seeking to combine French cuisine, history and landscape.

Grande adresse pour une grande histoire de France

Si vous êtes passionnés d’histoire, d’architecture et de gastronomie Française, allez faire un tour au pavillon Henri IV.
C’est à 2 pas de Paris à Saint Germain en Laye, le lieu vaut vraiment le détour.
Il vous faut préparer cette sortie et surtout prévoir le budget qui va avec;
Comptez entre 100 et 200 euros la chambre pour une nuit;
Demandez de préférence une chambre côté seine et vous aurez une vue splendide de Paris.
Le prix du menu varie entre 40 et 55 euros. Le personnel est très courtois sans pour autant être obséquieux, comme c’est le cas parfois dans des endroits chics.
Si vous avez exagérez sur le vin vous avez la possibilité de faire une longue marche ou un jogging
dans la forêt de Saint Germain.
Vous pouvez allez diner tout simplement sans dormir sur place.
C’est un lieu mythique qui a vu naître né l’oublions pas le roi soleil.
