Le Gril des Barbares

Je m’y suis rendu le 30 octobre avec deux amis. Nous avons trouvé un très bon restaurant, essentiellement pour les viandes. Le service est vraiment agréable et le cadre est superbe. Pas très en vue de la rue mais une fois qu’on y entre on adhère tout de suite à ce cadre gothique.
Un peu onéreux, certes, mais on y passé un agréable moment. Je conseille vraiment.

We asked the friendly staff at the Tourist Information Office for recommendation for lunch and she suggested this place with one other (Traditional Gourmand cateory). The restaurant is in a medieval cave setting, matching the beautiful Senlis town itself. They offer all sorts of grilled meats/​fish and their lunch special was either € 8 for the main course or € 12 for two courses. The daily special changes every day, but not the two main courses — Grilled Beef or Grilled Salmon both served with Gren Beans, Fries, Rice, Ratatoulle or Jacket Potato. The starters were Terrine de Campagne, Grilled Goat Cheese or daily special. Both main courses were grilled to perfection and had lovely smoky flavour. Our waiter was young and charming and explained the menu to us. In the evening, the main course starts from € 18 and set menu is either € 29 or 35. Compared to other restaurants in Senlis, they offered the best value lunch. One other restaurant offered € 10.50 daily special but the local told us that the food was not fresh.
