Carte courte mais efficace. Service très agréable. Un régal pour les papilles que l’on accepte bien volontiers de payer un peu cher. Je recommande le filet de barbue et son risotto. A né pas louper à Saint Malo!

In short: good food, insufficient service. The longer version: When we ordered we had to guarantee we would be there on time. Of course we were ;) Once we arrived we were pushed to order quickly. It has to be said, the waitress took her time to explain all the dishes. Once she was done explaining we were asked to make a choice. We told her we needed some time to decide. Still, there was pressure to order quickly. The food itself. Maybe we had the wrong impression, but we expected more from this. We had read some reviews on Unilocal and Trip Advisor, and they were very positive about the food. We expected real haute cuisine, but the dishes just didn’t reach that level. My entrée was good(Saumon frais et bonite en marinade d’épices douces et oignon rouge), but there’s room for improvement. My main course was good but rather like a stew you’d make at home: «Pluma pata negra crème de sirop d’érable au soja en cocotte». The taste was good, but not at all elegant. My girlfriend had ordered«Tagliata de bœuf». The taste was once again good, but it was incredibly(unforgivably) chewy. It must have been thrown in the pan when it was ice cold. They have no brown beer. The dining room itself was just fine. So, in the beginning we were rushed to order, and half an hour after we arrived we had already gotten our appetizer, entrée, and main course. After we had finished our dish we have waited for more than 45 minutes while having our empty plates on our small table. We tried to grab the waitress’ attention to get a dessert, the check, whatever, but failed. We’ve had this same feeling more than once in Saint Malo: one extra waiter would make such a big difference. One last thing: there’s a limit on how much underpants you want to see on a waitress. Her dresscode was far below level.
