We stayed here two nights. The first night went off with no problems. The room was relatively clean and we had a decent view of Montmarte. When we came back from London we stayed another night here. This was the nightmare. It seemed as if the only thing that was cleaned in the room was the bed sheets. The floor was terribly dirty, the room had accumulated a lot of dust, the bathroom smelled like urine and there was underwear left behind in the bathroom from the past guest who resided in the room. It is not located in the best area(I’m sure the prices should indicate that) but it isn’t a dangerous area either(from my knowledge). During the day the streets turn into a market and the locals sell items. When they leave, there is a lot of trash left behind. But the city sends street sweepers in the morning.

This hotel is a BUDGET hotel and that means you want the hostel(hostile) experience. There’s no place for a taxi to drop you off out front without it holding up traffic & people honking as you try to jump out with your luggage. There were no closets and the sink is in the room with the beds & not with the commode. It was also a bit uncomfortable walking past the large crowds of people huddled under a bridge for the street«flea market.» They were accompanied by several police officers standing by. When we first arrived & got in the elevator a strange woman asked us if we needed change and was holding out a crumpled 5 euros. Doors kept slamming as people came in all hours of the night. As we walked back at night to gather our things and leave, the garbage trucks were scraping up heaps of trash from the street. This hotel is located in a very shady part of town and was not the experience of Paris we wanted, so we left and went to an Ibis HOTEL. Avoid if you can.

Stayed here for two nights while in Paris on a Contiki tour, so our group of 50 had rooms already pre-booked. This is a fairly decent hotel, but it’s located in a slum of an area. We were advised by our tour manager not to use the closest ATM because it looks constantly tampered with, and also there are many vagabonds/gypsies who hang out nearby. The actual rooms were decent. The beds were clean and comfortable, with double occupancy rooms sporting a bunk bed — a single on top, and a double on the bottom. The shower, which opens up into the bedroom, was spacious and had a colored light head but drained extremely slowly. The sink is located next to the beds, and the toilet has its own room. We were provided soap, shampoo and towels. The window didn’t shut although it had a chain lock that prevented it from opening beyond 2 – 3 inches. Instead of keys or cards, they use electronic codes for each room, which I thought felt extra safe. Free wi-fi, good for texting iMessages and checking e-mail, but don’t expect to be able to upload videos to Instagram, and it might be slow uploading photos to Facebook. It’s not the quietest place, as people tend to slam the doors and you can hear people walking and talking in the area, especially since the window didn’t close. We were dog tired so I was not kept up and slept great despite other people’s noise. There are like 2 or 3 elevators going up to the rooms so not too much waiting needed. Vending machines downstairs with bottled water, snacks. The cafeteria downstairs serves breakfast with your room. Breakfast was very light, consisting of croissants and bread, yogurt, packaged cheese, cereal with milk, nutella, etc. There’s also hot tea and a coffee maker that makes café au lait, cappuccino, hot chocolate, etc.
