What can I say about this Abbey except that it must go on your bucket list. I have spent two holidays gawping in awe of its sheer beauty. Listed on UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983, the Abbey now draws huge crowds to the somewhat quiet country town of Saint-​Savin.
Inside there are frescos from the martyr brothers St Savin and St Cyprian, showing snips of their lives.
If the full tour is not your thing, you can admire the view from one of the local cafes/​bars on the square.
