Elegant and solid two-star restaurant in a beautiful setting. Attention to detail, quality of ingredients and special atmosphere add up to one amazing place. Highly recommended.

If you go to one restaurant in Lyon, this should be it. its a bit of a mission — about a 25 min cab ride out of the city, but once youre out there, its absolutely stunning. we told the Matre D that we came to Lyon to eat good food and he smiled and asked would we like to see the kitchen and meet the Chef? Prior to this trip, i had never heard of Philppe Gauvreau, and yet there was something about this man that you just *felt* — this was the Presence of Greatness. i turned into a giggling school girl. woot. we gave him free reign to send us anything — and ended up with two completely difference 7 course tasting menus. Out of this world. every dish was a piece of art, the flavors exquisitely balanced, every detail looked after. the timing was spot on also — where they cleared one dish, and you had enough time to take a sip of wine start a bit of conversation and then suddenly the next dish was there with out even starting to wonder and without feeling rushed. im not even going to try to describe all 14 different dishes — just trust me. ive eaten alot of amazing food and this is up there on my new top 5. did i mention that the restaurant itself is gorgeous? Dark colors and brilliant Greens, with one wall covered in what i first thought was one of those growing artwork things(with moss and what not), but it turns out is Feathers! and almost one entire side of the restaurant is a massive window looking out into the trees and grounds of the hotel. it felt so peaceful and perfect. this place is about as good as it gets. perfect.
