I love this place. I eat here every time I’m in Toulouse and have been coming for the last 10 years. Jinnie N. described the raclette process perfectly. Raclette at Au Cornet a Fondue is one of my favorite meals — if you’re in Toulouse, you can’t miss it(unless you don’t like cheese!).

We came here because of the high reviews on Unilocal and also because L’Entrecôte next door was full until 2030. We didn’t want to wait. We didn’t miss out on anything and couldn’t be happier! I was initially skeptical because there were only 2 couples in the cozy restaurant, but each layer of the set menu made me enjoy it more and more. We were welcomed by the owner who spoke very little English, but tried to patiently explain everything on the simple menu. Funny, 80s R&B playing in the background, which I really love! We started out with a bottle of Fronton red wine. The owner said that it’s a local winery 25 km away. We slowly sipped on the wine throughout our dinner. The set menu is € 19.90. We chose onion soup as the starter. Hot, gooey cheese over savory onion soup… what more can you say? For the second course we ordered the raclette which is a plate of deli meats and this crazy cheese contraption! There’s a huge wedge of cheese that you can place in and out from under a table-top warmer. Once the cheese browns and becomes bubbly, you scrape off the top layer with a thin wooden spatula. You can eat it with your deli meats or put it over the boiled yellow potatoes that we had mixed with crème freche. Soooooo good. When you’re taking a break from the warmed cheese, you remove it from under the warmer. We also ordered the beef fondue. Hot oil in a fondue pot was brought to the table, kept piping hot with the table-top stove. We were then given a plate with generous portions of raw pieces of meat and four dipping sauces. It appeared to be 2 different types of white tartar-like sauce, thousand island, and ketchup. Each person gets a fondue stick to skewer the meat and to place into the fondue pot. The length of cooking time depends on your liking. We were sooooo stuffed when we walked out of there… but VERY content!
