We stayed in this gite(vacation rental, similar to a bed and breakfast) in their chalet(cabin-type room) above a garage. We found it on Trip Advisor and admit that 99 percent of the reason we booked it was because they had a pool. Did not see the bad reviews. Blinded by excitement over the pool. I have mixed feelings. It was super cheap– like 60 euros a night. It felt a lot like camping. The room we had had a little balcony with a table and was tiny. My sister said it was terribly disgusting and dirty. I have an extremely high tolerance for things like that, but it did not look like it had been cleaned. The shower had lots of mold and trash in it. In order to rent this room, we had to bring our own sheets, which was fine since we drove, but would have been a pain if we didn’t live close. My primary complaint about the room was that when you first walked in there was a giant hole in the floor that was covered by some thin vinyl flooring. I almost fell through it. SO dangerous. She gave no warning at all. So so sooooo dangerous. The room had a small kitchen. The fridge was not plugged in. The bathroom had only about a quarter of a roll of toilet paper left and no extra, which was also a pain. There were no windows in the room, so we had to leave the door open for air. There was a window in the ceiling, but it poured rain so that wasn’t an option. It was nice using the pool, mainly because we had nice weather and we had the whole pool to ourselves. The downside is that it is in this woman’s backyard so it is not private and you feel like you are disturbing the people who live there. My sister thought the pool was unacceptably dirty. It was dirty, but it was an outdoor pool, whatever. Even though we paid a cleaning fee, the woman asked if we had cleaned the room at the end. She left us no trash bags or cleaning supplies, and the room was not given to us in clean condition. I enjoyed this place for its proximity to Mont St. Michel, the pool, the cost, and ho adorable the property was. I think you could do better, though, and probably in this price range.
