We had a great stay in one of the suites on Nimitz Hill(aka Flag Circle). Nimitz Hill building has about 16 suites and is about a 15 min drive from the Naval Base where the main Navy Gateway building is. This location is great if working at the hospital since it’s about 5 mins away. Great views and our room had plenty of space for my wife, my self and our toddler. There’s not much to do(besides an outdoor playground for kiddos) or eat at this location. Top O The Mar restaurant is down the street but was under renovation at the time we were there. But that was ok with us since there’s plenty of great local restaurants in the area. There’s free laundry and the staff was very friendly. Also the building is made like a concrete bunker to handle typhoons, so the room walls are thick concrete and you don’t hear any neighbors. Can’t beat it for only $ 70/night!

My husband and I stayed at the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites on the Naval Base in Santa Rita for about two weeks. They have the normal rooms/suites and also the villas which are two bedroom, and the villas are pet friendly for $ 20 per night. The suites are about $ 70 per night and the villas are $ 140 a night. The villas are nicely appointed but the size varies. We originally were in Madrid Villa 75 which was two stories and had two bathrooms and we later had to move to Madrid Villa 74 which was one story and one bathroom. Also, Villa 75 had more privacy because it faced a playground which was pretty unused. Villa 74 is part of a large circle of houses that face toward each other so everyone looks onto everyone else’s backyard. The villas have washing machines, dryers, big kitchens, and large living rooms. The one drawback we experienced was the Gateway Inn policy that the cleaning staff was supposed to come in your villa every day, whether you needed service or not. When you have dogs and you are trying to find a place to live/deal with PCSing logistics, having to deal with arranging a time for cleaning staff to come in is a pain. That being said, if you have two dogs around 50 lbs, there are no other hotels on Guam who will accept them other than the Days Inn. Book early to make sure you can get a room here — at least a month or two before moving.

This is a great place to stay! The view is amazing and the size of the room was perfect for my husband and me. Our room had a small living room, kitchenette and a bedroom with a queen bed. The staff is super friendly and made me feel very welcome. In addition, the wifi is awesome and has strong connection. We were able to FaceTime with family in the States and they said we sounded like we were next door. This place is about 15 min from the airport, 10 min from the Navy base and 45 from the Anderson base.

Price went up, it is now $ 70/night! Other than that, it is just as lovely as before as stated in the review from 2011.

For $ 35 – 45 a night, this is where you’ll want to stay for your TLA. They have a full size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, wi-fi, laundry room, gym, lounge area for parties, etc, etc… I would rather stay here while waiting for OHA than at a $ 150 hotel where they don’t have these amenities. Also, PSD won’t pay you back your money until payday, per OIC. So every 10 days you’ll come out your wallet $ 1500 instead of $ 450NGIS. Unless your single, then staying at these big hotels may suit your lifestyle. Also, your only approved TLA at these big hotels if NGIS is booked. Otherwise, you may have to stay here. Staff is great and room service is awesome! Ths review is for the hotel located on Nimitz Hill. Beautiful view of Tumon Bay! Ask for this hotel location. You’ll never have a better BBQ scene than at this place. Ever! Must be AD, Retired, or dependents of those.
