This is the famous Jamaican Grill. Doesn’t disappoint. Everything I’ve ordered, even the vegan dish, has been good. I’m not vegan, but love all veggie dishes as well.

Excellent customer service at the take out window! I dropped by to place an order for their jerk chicken and ribs with their spicy rice and Jamaican rice. Mouth watering, tender and flavorful pieces of meat(chicken available in quarter or half) with a generous serving of salsa and peppers. I’ve also had a food from the huge family platter — large tray with red rice, your choice of meats and large take out boxes of tossed salad. Worth every penny! Call ahead to place your order for speedier take out service. Jamaican Grill has long been an island favorite now for the past 20 years. A business that succeeds for that period of time has been proven itself insofar as quality food and service. I’ve not had authentic Jamaican food but if it’s anything like this — I’m a fan! The spices used on the meats is different from the typical asian/islander marinades that contain soy sauce, garlic, onions and such. Excellent jerk seasoning that goes so well with red rice and a finadene sauce. Parking here is phenomenally easy! Located beside Dededo Mall(it really isn’t a mall like you’d think), lots of easy stalls and convenient take out window.

I asked the server which was the most popular plate and he mentioned the chicken and rib plate, which I ordered. It came with two medium sized chicken breasts and two ribs with either red or Jamaican rice and a choice of soup, salad, or fruit. I chose half red/half Jamaican rice and the daily soup, which was a fish-based bisque(cannot recall the exact name). Here is what I enjoyed and disliked. Pros: The chicken was the best part. It had a nice char on it and was juicy inside. The red(more like orange) rice was pretty good. I have to say the setting and feeling of the place is really cool. I dig the whole Jamaican theme. Also, the portion size of the plate was very large and the server we had was very friendly and nice. They have free WiFi. Cons: The soup was very bland. Lacked in any salt and spices. Luckily I chose to do half of each kind of rice because the Jamaican rice was very, very bland. Also the ribs, although they had a good rub on them, were very fatty and lacked in meat. Cost: ~$ 20 In my opinion, there wasn’t really anything that I ate that I enjoyed so much to come back for.
