Pork belly was spectacular. The specials menu is completely delicious. Had a great time and enjoyed very good food with exceptional service. Friendly staff on the floor and great Irish cuisine.

My husband and I fully enjoyed our dinner here on a Friday night. Bread at the table was a hearty Irish soda bread with treacle. I started with a very frothy potato and leek soup served in a tourine, and it was very good. For a main I had the 36-hour slow cooked pork belly served on a bed of mushrooms and celeriac. It was easily the best meal I had on my two-week trip of Dublin. The pork belly was perfectly tender with a thick cut of crispy fat on top. My husband had the steak with a side of curried cauliflower. We shared a carafe of Cabernet Sauvignon. The meal was excellent and my only lament is that I live across the ocean from this place!

All of the food we ordered was incredible! By far one of our best meals during our trip throughout all of southern Ireland. We were the last guests in the restaurant on a weekday and did not feel rushed out at all. In fact, we were able to stay after our meal and have a great conversation with Elaine, the manager/co-owner/chef’s wife. If you’re going to be in Adare, you should definitely stop here.

All the travel guides pointed us to 1826 as the place to eat in Adare. From other reviews on Unilocal,we learned that we should make reservations, I had our hotel connect us to the restaurant around 4pm of the day we wanted to dine. Unfortunately, they did not have open reservations for 7pm, but were able to get us in at 6:30 with the caveat that we were to stay no later than 8:30pm. I have never had a restaurant tell me there was a time limit on my dining experience anywhere that I have traveled in the world, I was a little concerned about the quality of service that we would receive. We went through with our reservation and were seated in the first room upon entering which included bench seating along the walls. My husband and I chose the bench seating and were put directly over a heating vent that became uncomfortably hot over the course of dinner. All 4 of us in our party chose to order from the daily specials menu, two of us had Atlantic halibut and two had the pheasant dish. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious, my husband said that his halibut was a tad overcooked, but mine was done perfectly. We ordered two brownies to share for dessert and they were enjoyable. All in all our experience dining here was a pleasant one, despite the time cap we were not rushed at any point during our meal and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. This restaurant is on the more expensive side compared to pub eating, but was worth a stop while in town.

I went to this place after getting a recommendation from someone I met here in Ireland. It was never mentioned reservations were required from the conversation or the research I did online. We waited all Saturday for it to open at 6:00 pm and when we arrived at 6:11 pm we were told reservations were required. The place was COMPLETELY empty and the host was snotty. I will never come again.

Restaurant 1826 was recommended to us by the manager of a nearby hotel as it had just won«restaurant of 2014» award. We took his suggestion and stopped in in time for their«early bird special»(which we found many Irish restaurants offer dinner customers dining before 7pm or so). Between the soup(turnip), main courses(chicken breast and sirloin steak) and dessert(sticky toffee pudding with rum raisin ice cream), it was hands down the best meal we had during our 12 day visit to Ireland. Service was great and relative to the price we paid for other, not-nearly-as-good meals we had elsewhere, well worth the money.

Amazing! Everyone at Adare Manor recommended that we eat here. They were right. This is hands down the best meal we’ve had in Ireland this far. The bread baked scallops starter was absolutely life changing. The dry aged sirloin main course was also incredible. This was the first meal my wife and I ate as a married couple as we were married earlier today in Limerick.
