The Poachers Inn

This place is great. It is in an old pub and it still has that feel about it. The atmosphere is relaxed and the place was packed — always a good recommendation I think.
There is a lot of seafood on the menu and it was really well cooked and beautifully presented. The scallops mornay were the best I have ever tasted.
The staff are friendly and attentive without being over bearing and we were allowed sit at the table and chat long after we had finished without ever feeling like we should vacate the table.
This was my first time here but I will definitely go back the next time I am in West Cork. If you like good seafood in a relaxed, cosy environment then you need to check out the Poachers Inn.

My family and I went here for dinner here while staying in Cork and were delighted with our meal and the excellent service. We had a huge bowl of mushroom and thyme soup for starters which was served piping hot and this was followed by fish and chips which were equally as nice. This was my second time to visit this restaurant and it certainly won’t be my last. For quality of food and friendly service I would definitely recommend it to everybody.
