I had a family lunch with my parents, brother, and grandparents here recently. I had the fish goujons and they were cooked perfectly. I tried some of my brother’s sticky toffee pudding, it was also delicious. The staff were pleasant but not overly chatty. When the food arrived it was great but it was quite slow. There was an open fire which was lovely and there’s a nice room that can be hired for private events too.

Gleesons of Booterstown is SO Booterstown haha I really like this place and from time to time I go there for dinner/drinks. They are open for over 60 years and became integral part of the neighborhood area. The building is actually a complex: restaurant in one side, pub on the other side, plus deli/coffee shop during the day and beer garden area(yes, the place is big!) Starting with the restaurant: it is fancy. Not so fancy, but fancy. The menu is short but the food is delicious. They change the menu often and I think that is a good thing. The service is fast and the staff is very attentive. The pub is also good. It is an old man pun, as one would expect. Good selection of bottle beers but just a few on tap. Prices are reasonable. I tried the food from the deli but always for take away. The food is also good but expensive… A ham & chicken pie for one is 5 euros. And it is small. Coffees are over 3.50 and not that good. Never tried the beer garden but it is always full during summer nights.

This is a really nice place if you are in the Booterstown area and looking for something to eat or even for a couple drinks. It really stands out in Booterstown! Kind of an elder crowd there but it is still a really homely place to chill at. I would highly reccomend it! Food is outstanding, it has a large menu to choose from and I also think it’s a great place if your looking to have a birthday or work gathering drinks.

I would have never known about this place if I didn’t walk somewhere new looking for lunch. I haven’t spent any time in the pub but it looks spacious and like it would be a good time on a full night. The cool thing about this place is that it has a little store/café type place in it as well. They serve cold and hot food(amazing lasagna to take back to the office to heat up), as well as groceries, chocolates, and a small off license. It was pretty busy when I went in there but it seems to be where a lot of school kids stop in after school gets out and I was in about that time. I’ll definitely be coming to this place more often for lunch takeaway!

Live right beside here and you can really see how it has won ‘pup of the year’. Also there is a great food shop attached where you can buy fresh bread, eggs etc. There is a deli and the coffee is pretty good. The strength is weak however and they make the coffee’s very hot! Which is not a problem for me — better than luke warm like some places :/ Anyway it’s a pub that has everything! A restaurant, a pub and a shop!

I was contacted by my mother for a very, very important task — find a pub for my dad’s surprise 60th birthday party that could take +100 guests, «and none of the cheap greasy cocktail sausages platters…». After investigating everywhere I could think so(yes, Unilocal was much utilised), Gleesons of Booterstown looked promising. When I phoned them, I actually got speaking straight away to one of the owners(two brothers — John and Ciaran). John talked me through everything, sounded great. I went down to see it a few days later, and spoke with Ciaran. The menu for the platters was amazing, and they could look after my mam and aunt too(they’re both coeliac — can’t eat gluten). The pub is incredibly cozy, and has a little room with a pool table(nice to gather a few people in). There’s also has a little shop attached, bought an amazing sandwich there. They sell unusual sweets too, like Milk Duds and other American ‘candy’. The party went amazingly well, dad was very much surprised and everyone had a great time.

Nice quiet place for a mid-day coffee. Nicer place for an evening pint.

Had lunch there last Friday. You need to book around Christmas time. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great ambiance. No loud music or TV. Only negative was the food — not the greatest(I had the turkey and ham). Burger for my friend didn’t look great. Chips were good! Very good service despite being very busy. Pints and wine were excellent.
