This is the original Top Man in Dublin has been here, almost hiding, in the Jervis Street shopping centre for years. I remember first seeing it years ago and thinking, wow, at least I’ll never make a tit out’ve myself by shopping here. Aah, it’s funny how things change. I’d like to think that I’m not quite waddling around picking my jeans out’ve my butt crack or letting my beer belly burst open the buttons on my body hugging checked shirt but I do own a scarily large number of items from Top Man. And since the high profile outlet opened on Grafton Street, well, it’s Top Ma-geddon out there, every hip-kid wannabe in Dublin is tripping over his enormously pointy shoes. But hey! It’s relatively very affordable, trendy and a smidgen better put together than H&M’s rags, so I say more power to them. This particular outlet is good, well stocked and often has really good sales.

Topman is probably the trendiest high-street label for men on the go in Dublin at the minute. Enough skinny jeans, trillby hats and massive knitwear to shake a stick at, Topman is filled with customers and staff alike that would be very much at home in the pages of the NME. They have some really cool t-shirts and shirts as well as good jeans, but their basics are sorely lacking, not to mention overpriced. Six euro for a pair of socks? Flip right off. The staff in here can be a mixed bag, I’ve found them friendly andd helpful at times and obnoxious and unaccommodating at others. Topman is a bit of a condradiction in itself, but worth a visit if you’re looking for casual wear.
