Bates Restaurant

The meals was excellent but unfortunately my daughter who is a celiac got contaminated by gluten. So they loose a few stars. Except for this it would have been five.

Bates is a gorgeous little restaurant which feels like its lit with a thousand candles. Its very cosy, quint and the staff are always friendly .
I have eaten here twice and have very little to complain about.
The décor is an old limestone wash shed with lovely oak beams and quirky seating areas.
The food is always very high quality, offering great local produce like trout and veal.
The food is presented extremely well.
They offer great deals such as 25 or 30 euro for a 2 course meal. Keeping in mind the food is of up market quality I think its great for a valentines date!
The only thing I will complain about is the veal I had one day. It was just a very small portion of meat and considering it was in around 20 something euro for the dish I was expecting more meat. It was like 2 pieces of packet ham in size… For 25 bucks!
Really nice restaurant anyway, would recommend it to all and especially for a romantic date!
