Its hard to give it more than two stars. The staff are lovely but as far as aquariums go its not that great. It took us 5 minutes to walk around the whole thing. Its was really a shame as I was not expecting much but this was much lower than my expectations.

I used to love this place as a kid. I’d say I came here a good ten years ago maybe even more. And not one thing has changed! The staff are lovely and we got to see some of the sea creatures being fed. My little one loved it so maybe it’s just I’m getting older? It’s very dark and dull but maybe that’s for the fish I don’t know. Just something dead about the place I actually don’t know how it’s still open. For € 11 a ticket we walked through in about ten minutes. The toy shop outside is also very expensive but maybe they have to keep their prices so high to keep the place going.

Let’s be clear: Two stars go to the facilities and two stars go to Dave, the Sea Life man that knows everything about fish. Without Dave this trip from Dublin to Bray would have been a littttttle lame, but he gave us the best facts about the fish in the tanks that had our whole group of 7(3 adults and 4 kids) mesmerized! He was so sweet, attentive, and patient with us that it really made our whole experience at Sea Life! Thanks Dave! If you go, find a Dave & you will be sure to have an educational and enjoyable experience!

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. For starters, the aquarium is minuscule, and got even smaller since they got rid of the giant crab that was actually my favourite. He got too big for his tank and they sent him to bigger pastures. The place is so small, you’ll be done in 10 minutes. It is way, way, way too small for the price you pay. BUT… what’s there is great. There’s a nice selection of sea life, with very interesting info about the various fish, and a fun sort of underwater maze-tunnel atmosphere. We got there when they were feeding the seahorses and one of the staff gave us a very entertaining talk. We then backtracked to the octopus, he followed us and told us more about the octopus. I would love to go through the entire aquarium with a live commentary as this guy was interesting and passionate.

Visited with my two kids, used a voucher so the entry price was very reasonable. We had a blast, lovely staff, great feeding time talks and, although small, Sealife has a great selection of fish and exhibitions. The kids did the quiz which added more interest as we went around.

If you have little kids — I have a three year old — this place is great. While I smirked at how small and low key this aquarium is, my daughter loved it and that is about the extent of my criteria. We could walk through all of the exhibits many many times without working up a sweat, there was face painting, ray and piranha feeding — who could really ask for much more(if you are three). The price for a three year old was perfect — free — for me, less so at 12 euros, but still worth it. I would recommend one adult going with a group of three and unders to maximize value.

Yep, I get around to almost everything when on vacation. The Tour company stopped of in Bray which is a small town along the coast. There isn’t much to do there but lay around on the beach or you could check out their little wildlife center. It was nothing spectacular and I’m sure it’s mostly for kids but it doesn’t mean I couldn’t play with some of the star fish(one of the kids thought that it bite him which I found hilarious and of course said something to the effect that his finger might fall off now, after he went off crying I made my way out. I was smiling when I told him, how would I know he would take me seriously?!). I didn’t end up taking the tour because I wasn’t so much impressed by what they had to offer so far(plus I’m sure the kids parents would have caught up to me) and at 12 euro(adult) a ticket I wasn’t going to find out. Like I said this is mostly for children. The staff was nice and I did learn that this was a chain that has locations all over the world.

An odd one this, I was looking forward to the visit, happily queued, paid the astronomical 12 Euro per adult(child free) and followed the directions provided by the girl behind the desk. having queued and paid I was surprised there was no one at the door of the exhibition to check tickets — but there wasn’t and there seemed to be plenty of folks who were willing to take advantage of this. you are led along dark passages to view pool after pool of interesting fishies but the overall feel is a bit grotty and dated and although there are indeed a few interesting bits we left feeling fairly let-down. Overall 3 stars — one for the exhibits 2(and I’m possibly being a bit mean here — cus they really were friendly and helpful) for the staff who were lovely.

The Sea Life Centre is the main tourist attraction in Bray, which isn’t really saying much as the next contestant for that title is the battered old amusements on the seafront. The aquarium is one of a chain operated by a Europe-wide group. There’s plenty here to keep the kiddies entertained, with interactive exhibits and informative display boards amongst the tanks of exotic marine species and fish native to Irish waters. There’s a tank full of piranhas, blacktip sharks, and a giant Japanese spider crab that can grow up to four metres in length from claw to claw.

This will not blow your mind that’s for sure. Maybe if you are a small child and things just seem infinately bigger and amazing then it will. So the tip here is to bring a child or pretend that you are a child. Honestly I thought it was a bit expensive for looking at fish, just over 10 euro. My wildlife rugged friend is reading over my shoulder at this and he disagrees and wants me to register that. Fair enough but he counts fish or something like that for a living so he would find it fun.
