A nice pint and really nice décor. The place even has a bonafide castle stuck on the side. Seriously. We opted to relax here over two pints after a walk in the nearby snowy hills. The Guinness was good. Only drawback: I found the few men sitting at the bar counter a little intimidating. It was 4pm and they were clearly drunk. The lady behind the counter who was very nice, was well able to keep them in their place all the same. I’m glad. I’d return, for the comforts and the Guinness.

This old pub is rather unique and small but lovely. We enjoyed a pint in the bar but with pizza as their only food option at 730pm we moved on. It was a shame I bet pub grub would have suited the place. Cozy up next to the fire.

I love coming to Carlingford and stopping off at «Taaffes»! Truely unique set into the castle, it provides a great atmosphere for a drink with friends or on a date. Staff are friendly and there’s a lovely outside area for a(rare!) sunny pint. A few times I’ve been there at night there’s been live music which has just intensified the craic! Definately one to visit!
