While on the road to Cork we started getting a bit Hangry(anger from hunger) and decided it was a good ideas to take a detour into Carlow. At the city center we found Reddy’s and decided to look no further. The full Irish was a big breakfast with two large sausages, bacon, eggs and a slew of other items. Everything tastes great! Not being a coffee drinker they were even nice enough to let me switch out the coffee with orange juice. Service was good, the food came out quick. All around a solid breakfast stop.

The initial look and feel lets you know you are definitely in Ireland. With the dark wood, heavy brocade chairs & velvet seating, thick bar, and many rooms you get the point. The service was a bit rushed and the servers over whelmed but they eventually got it right. I had the fish and chips. They serve Plaice, a type of white filet of fish, which is mild and tasted fresh. The chips were fresh, golden & oil had been recently changed. My Pint of Smithwicks was white & tight & crisp. One of the better dining spots in the surrounding area and they have ample room for groups.

The price was ok. 80 euro for 3 people. No wine, that includes one beer and one coke which was flat. We had one steak, and 2 duck, the duck was well presented But really tough. Lots of potatoes, 2 much actually, and nice veg. I would go back but they really could improve the service. Maybe some training.
