The server was so sweet, I almost feel bad about giving a mediocre review. While the service was perfect and the atmosphere was cozy, they fell flat in the food department. Maybe I’m a snob, but their food is something your great-grandmother would have cooked back in the 1950s — big portions of plain carrots, mashed potatoes, and beef with gravy. There wasn’t really any flavor and the potatoes were rather dry. And on top of that, they don’t serve alcohol.(What?)

A great place to stop and enjoy lunch while visiting the Rock of Cashel. I visited on a Tuesday and the place was bustling with tourists and locals alike. I had the Chicken goujans which were perfectly fried, drizzled in honey and paired well with the sweet chili dip. My husband had the chicken fajitas which were equally delicious.

Wanted to get the seafood chowder but they only had the large size so went only with the Cod Special(not Haddock like most places). Lots of salad layers underneath the lettuce(tomato, cucumber, pickled onion, potato salad) and the mushy peas were actually good. Super filling and I couldn’t finish it all. This place surprised me by having things like fajitas and lasagna on the menu but don’t let that turn you off, the food is quite good.

Very cozy and warm. Staff was very friendly. Food was delicious. The seafood chowder was fresh, authentic and filling. It came with some homemade bread. The chicken goujons were tasty and came with fries, salad and some potato salad. While we didn’t have any dessert, it looked mouth watering.

Great little café /restaurant near the Rock of Cashel(you can walk from the rock). Great food: seafood chowder, potato soup, pasta, and fantastic desserts(pies & cakes). Espresso coffee too.

This was the first bit of food that I popped into my hungry face after flying across the Atlantic from the States. Being extremely hungry, I opted for the full Irish breakfast. When I looked at the list of all of the items included, I was sure it couldn’t possibly be correct. When my plate arrived, I was delighted to find a heaping plate full of morning deliciousness for my belly. Boyfriend immediately pointed out the Irish bacon, also known as rashers. For the love of rashers, oh my, yes rashers! I have found a new love in life. Note to self, find out how to get my hands on rashers back home. The café is small and inviting with some seriously good coffee. It’s located within walking distance of the Rock of Cashel. If you find yourself in this area around a meal time, boyfriend and I both highly recommend Ladyswell, and make sure to order something that includes rashers.

I have to say– we popped in for a quick coffee after visiting The Rock before driving on to Limerick. Our«quick stop» turned into a bonafide sit after the sweetest owner(I’m assuming) charmed us into not 1, not 2, but 4 desserts! We sampled all she had to offer and I am here to attest that her sticky toffee pudding was one of my very favorite things I’ve ever eaten. A close second was the mascarpone with raspberries –my mouth waters just remembering it! Between the five of us, we were filled to the brim with her made-from-scratch desserts, cooked up every morning. In addition, the place has a light and airy feel in spite of its small, cozy size. We enjoyed our visit and chatting with the ladies working– a very memorable experience from our short time in Cashel.

This place has THE best chowder ever! And I’ve had chowder all around the world, in San Fran, New York… Its a cute little restaurant near the Rock of Cashel castle. It has very sweet waitresses and the chowder has so many different types of seafood, it was so good! It came with some slices of guinness bread which was great as well. Its a must stop!
