Mad Hatter Café
I came upon this little gem of a coffee shop while on a business trip in Carlow.
My associate on the trip is a native of Carlow and when I suggested to him after our meeting we have a coffee he said «I know a great place»
He guided me back to Castledermot and Mad Hatters Café.
Upon entering the café is bright and pleasant with plenty of colour.
We had Coffee (Lavazza) Blueberry & Almond Muffin for me and a fruit scone for my associate.
When we asked could the scone be heated we were informed by the owner they were fresh from the oven… and they were. The offer of fresh red gooseberry jam was also on offer and the jam was also still warm. Amazing!
This is a real find in the most unlikely of places.

PS the coffee was that good we stayed and had a second one.
